I was wondering if any, or heck, all of you could help me out.
Years ago I got a bread pudding recipe from my grandma which was absolutely delicious and I made it so often a person would think I'd know it by heart but I didn't. In a move in 2007 or 08 I lost a box and it had kitchen stuff in it along with some of my recipes which this recipe was among them.
Over the years I have tried at least 30 different recipes but none of them taste right if you know what I mean. So I was wondering if you had an old bread pudding recipe I could try. I would really appreciate it, thanks. Kathy

Kathy, I have a recipe that I have used for my soon to be 54 yrs. of married life. I will get it out & post it here for you. It's from a cookbook my mother in law gave me when Ray & I were married. Be right back with it.

Bread Pudding
5 slices day old bread 2 tbsp. Butter 1/2 cup moist raisins 1/4 tsp. Salt 1/2 cup Sugar 3 Eggs, beaten 3 cups Milk, scalded 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
Toast bread & spread with all the butter while hot. Arrange toast in a buttered baking pan 13" x 9". Sprinkle with raisins. Stir salt & all but 2 tbsp. of the sugar into the eggs. Add milk & stir to mix well. Pour over the toast & let stand for 10 minutes. Press toast lightly down into the milk occasionally so it soaks up most of the milk mixture. Mix cinnamon with remaining 2 tbsp. Sugar & sprinkle over top. Place dish directly on oven rack. Bake in a moderate oven (350°) about 25 minutes.or until knife inserted in center comes out clean & top is an appetizing brown. Serve warm or cold. 5 or 6 servings
Does sound like a very old recipe! LOL It's the only bread pudding i have ever made. Hope it appeals to you, Kathy.

Charlene I see there were 17 views but no takers on my request, lol. I found both of my Mom's recipes. Do you recall if yours was made with brown sugar or white sugar? Raisins or not? Charlene

Thanks Angela, I will give it a try this weekend.
Charlene I am pretty sure it was with brown sugar but not positive and yes with raisins, it wouldn't be any good without them raisins.

Kathy, don't be alarmed at a lot of views and not a response. Many are just looking around to see what is here right now.
