I have one from my old Better Homes and Garden's cookbook from the 50's that was a shower gift to me. I will find the recipe and post it. It is the one I use and it is very good and we love it in the winter time. And, it is simple, too. My kind of cooking!

Ezdosit, I was thinking how remarkable that we both had the same identical recipe! 😊 Really though, I suspected it was something else. We all have new things to learn on this new site. In time it will all be old hat. Hang in there!

Now you have me craving bread pudding. Haven't made any in years. For some reason people just don't seem to eat it as much as they use to. I think years ago people just didn't waste food like they do now. When bread got old they made bread pudding. When bananas got a little too ripe they made banana bread. These days we just through the old stuff out.
I will have to put raisins on my grocery list.

Leslie I got a big bag of raisins today. In the next week to 10 days I plan on making rice pudding, carrot cake and bread pudding, all with raisins. Geez, no wonder I am getting fat, lol.

Darn, Bread pudding sounds so good but it is one thing I don't think my husband will eat. Might try it this fall anyhow..maybe if I put some apples in it he would. What do you think...skip raisins and add Apple pieces?

Bread pudding can be made with any verity of fruit. Just be sure the spices used compliment the fruit.

Yes Angela I halved your recipe and halved Snowwolfs recipe and made both a week or so ago.
Snowwolf's was exactly like my grandma's except it was a little too sweet so I will half the white sugar from now on.
