75 this morning and 88 later.   Going to make this short.  There is a bad storm heading our way.


Kathy, you surely must have gotten some rain out of this?  Or maybe tonight?  I think we are going to get it this morning and this evening.  North of us has already gotten 3.5 inches and expecting 4 more tonight.

Good morning.

WooHoo we got around an inch of rain last night with a chance of more today sometime. It won't help all the plants that have died and the newsman said it is too late for our lawns since they are dormant but it sure perked me up!

Just work for me today and then I will go get groceries.

Good morning all. Another 90degree day expected here and no rain. We might get some on the weekend. Maybe that's the storm Larry and Kathy are mentioning. 

Last work day of the week for me. Tomorrow is my one and only day I was approved for this summer to be off. I am SO looking forward to it.  I've been fortunate to at least get stuck on a call at quitting time.  The weekends can't get here soon enough. The only saving grace is that its been too hot to do much anyway.

Good Morning Everyone!

I am in NE Indiana...we have had very little rain here in my city...it seems to rain all around us, the grass crunches when you walk on it, and everything looks pretty bad...I watered yesterday, but need to do the front yard today.


It is good to see familiar names and new ones on this new board...I also want to thank Bett and Charlene for all their hard work getting this going....


Today I will have my 16 month old granddaughter Allie (Alice) to watch...she sure lights up her Nana and Poppy's life when she comes...she is a funny little thing and we laugh more the day she is here than all the rest of the week put together!

Good morning everyone!  If I have missed you, a warm welcome to all new members.

Talk about it being hot.....unreal, especially with the humidity factor.  Looks like we 
have to expect that tomorrow as well.  Mind you they keep promising rain and showers,
but in what century....I don't know.  Do I sound like I'm fed up...yes I am.  I never 
liked the heat.

I either still have jet lag, or the heat is getting to me.  I woke up at 3:00AM, and
just could not go back to sleep.  I tried reading...listening to the radio....sitting in
the reclining chair....nothing helped.  I'm still up.  With this heat looks like it's going
to be another knitting day.  I do have to do the laundry at some point.

Good Morning everybody.  It will be hot here today also & humid (Joyce thy install the AC today)  We could use some rain here also. 

Leaving for work shortly but wanted to stop in here since I have time. Turns out things have changed on my schedule & I won't have to work tomorrow after all.  That's just fine with me.

My son & family are in Ocean City (Md.) for the week & they were supposed to go out to dinner tonight & I volunteered to come stay with the kids.  They have another couple with them & there would be 4 kids total.  But they are old enough to do for themselves & only about 45 minutes away so not a problem.  He called me Tues.night & they had tentatively decided on tonight but he was supposed to call last night & let me know for sure.  No call so maybe they changed their minds & that's OK too.

Joyce, where in No. Virginia are you?

Good morning everyone.  I was here earlier reading and our 2nd storm rolled in with lots of thunder and lightning, so I shut down the puter.  That storm has moved on and is probably waking Lily up right now...lol.  It sounds like we will get a 3rd storm this afternoon with chances of LOTS of rain.  I wish I could figure out how to share this rain with others.

I don't have big plans for today.  There is always the inside stuff I can do...oh..and it is Thursday and I meet my friends for lunch.  One of them is on vacation, so there will just be 2 of us today.

I do hope the storms rolling through SW Minn don't ruin Melissa and family's day.  I am guessing it would just change their plans.

Dave...glad to see you got a few visiting you in the Potting shed yesterday.  I put an avatar on for Mary...hope it is the one she wanted.

Kathy...WOOHOO...you got rain!  The grass may come back.  Ours went dormant a couple years ago and after a couple rains it started to grow and looked and smelled like Spring grass.  Hope you get more.

Wendy..I am so disappointed with the place you work.  I cannot believe they won't let you have requested time off.  I will do what I can to send this rain your way......and also on to:

Uff da! Do we have to log in here every time? I was reading the posts and hit reply and got a message to log in. Not used to doing that. Good thing I wrote my password on a sticky on the screen or I'd forgotten it. My screen is covered with "stickies" (reminders!) LOL

  Good Morning. Charlene thunder didn't wake me, but I woke about 6:30 and it looked funny out. Got up to see and the rain was pouring in my kitchen windows and back door. All wide open! and water all over. Can't crank the windows easily anymore and had to go out on the deck and push them to get started. At least I don't have to wash my hair, got washed with rain water!

  Kathy, happy for you in getting rain. I wish it had missed me, as mud here now, from the sewer work!

   Welcome Joyce. I'm across the state line from Charlene in Minnesota and just 17 miles east of her.

    Gayle, hope the new A/C works well for you.

     I'll be doing more cleaning for the new owners. Not being spotless as they are young (mid-20s) and can reach and work better than I can! LOL

     Have a good day and stay cool if you can. Hope all this heat doesn't mean a very cold winter!
