Good Morning everybody. It will be hot here today also & humid (Joyce thy install the AC today) We could use some rain here also. Leaving for work shortly but wanted to stop in here since I have time. Turns out things have changed on my schedule & I won't have to work tomorrow after all. That's just fine with me. My son & family are in Ocean City (Md.) for the week & they were supposed to go out to dinner tonight & I volunteered to come stay with the kids. They have another couple with them & there would be 4 kids total. But they are old enough to do for themselves & only about 45 minutes away so not a problem. He called me Tues.night & they had tentatively decided on tonight but he was supposed to call last night & let me know for sure. No call so maybe they changed their minds & that's OK too. Joyce, where in No. Virginia are you? LINY, if you are reading this. I find it's best to use the Reply option to answer posts rather than the Quick Reply. That's it for now, I guess. Good morning. Been reading posts for an hour. Nice to see so many here who didn't post often before.
We did have rain last night in the middle of the night. It rained pretty hard. Today there is only a slight chance late afternoon, with a greater chance late evening. We are going to the Little house museum today and staying at the last state park of the trip. Has been fun. Poor ds has not felt good the last 2 days tho and I'm guessing strep. He has a fever, sore throat, and tummy ache. We will be in a bigger town today so will get some antibiotics. He needs to feel better since he is supposed to do his gun safety field day on Saturday.
This has taken forever with interruptions so I will say have a great day!

Gayle, happy to hear you will be getting your air conditioning installed today. I just heard on the news that the temps in your area will be even higher than ours today.
I now live in Loudoun County near Dullles Airport. Moved here after 40 years in Fairfax County. I am not far from my old home.

Good morning everyone. It is 78* going up to 90*. Sunny and breezy right now. Looks like rain is heading our way, but the weather gurus say not till this afternoon sometime.
Will water all my containers just in case we don't get the rain Getting ready to o out and tend to our animals. We lost one of our male goats to all the heat day before yesterday. He was the oldest at 4 yo. So far knock on wood the other animals are doing good.Even the cats aren't very active and eat very little with this heat.

Good morning everyone! My we have a crowd in here nice to see! Welcome al new board members. Very hot & humid here today I have no energy and feel tired. It's just the weather. Glad to see some of you getting rain we sure do need it here. When I was going to work yesterday I almost hit this huge snapping turtle thank goodness I saw it in time. Biggest one I have ever seen! Well have to get back to work. Stay cool and have a good day. |

I am babysitting at the moment. It is warm outside today so we shall just stay inside. They have a Victorian home so have high ceilings so makes the temperature more bearable.

Carol...nice to see you joining us so often. I read where you are heading to Florida the end of the month. WOW...I bet it will be hot there. I have never been to Florida, but I've always wanted to visit there in January or February when it is colder than heck here...lol. Charlene

Morning everyone! Fast hunting & pecking at the keyboard needed here if I expect to make it before noon! LOL Geez, spent the morning online today. Good thing our neighbour popped in for coffee & I had a bit of a break. He must think I never get dressed as it seems every time he drops in I am still in my robe! LOL
It's a drizzly kind of day and not supposed to get warmer than 70°! Wish I could share some of the coolness with some of you! Hate to say it but last night with the windows opened there was a touch of fall in the air! Way too early in my opinion!
Not a lot getting accomplished today. Had thought I'd have my daughter & granddaughter over for supper. However, we're going to the 7 p.m. Movie an hour away. We're going to see Bad Moms! Not too sure what that is about & my days of being a bad mom are over being as my youngest is 47! 😊 Anyhow, supper for the girls will be another night. Guess Ray will be on his own raiding the fridge.
Time to go eat my cucumber sandwich which Ray put together for me. Will look like a cuke soon we've eaten so many thanks to the generosity of friends. A fellow in the town where my daughter works meets her on the street as she goes by & hands her a bag of veggies most days! 😊

Good day, everyone! Hottest and muggiest day of the summer...heat index is 107...UGH!
I went to the senior center and did the indoor 2-mile walk fit program. DH went walking outside...he doesn't mind the heat and humidity.
We had a delightfully delicious seafood cocktail...we had main dish portions...anyway I provided a link on What's cooking if you are interested.

Good afternoon everyone. Wow nice group of posters today. I wish I could reply to each one but with both hands messed up I am not able too. I do read every post :) so know who's up to what.
CHARLENE - I did go out after midnight the other night and did the rain dance. Shhhh don't tell anyone because they will think I've gone bonkers LOL. Guess what????
IT IS RAINING AND HAS BEEN FOR THE PAST HOUR. Yippppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
We even pulled our chairs to the dining room window so we could see it coming down. We have needed this so bad, of course it won't be enough to call off the water ban but everything is getting a nice drink. The first part has knocked down some flowers but at this stage the rain is more important...
Oh boy it's so hot here, over 100 so I can only imagine what it will be like after the rain.
I am getting my story done, doing it in word whenever my fingers co-operate but enjoy reading everyone else's. :)

So, am I getting closer to being a Junior Member? ;) Leslie...you are very close. I think it is 50 posts that makes you a Junior Member and at 100(like I am) you are considered full member...aka blabber mouth...lol. Angela...the other night it was chilly and I swore I could smell fall in the air. Right now I'd love some of your cooler weather. I have been living on tomato sandwiches. Ann...try to stay cool. Heat doesn't bother my husband either, but it wears him out. I am worn out without doing anything when it is hot and humid. I will check out the seafood cocktail for sure. Donna...I am so happy to hear you are getting rain...Kathy got rain as well this morning. I guess your rain dance worked....Rick emailed me the video...see if I can get it on to Youtube...lol. Yes, Charlene, I figured that one out when I noticed the changes under peoples names. So, just a few more and I will be a Junior.

Donna, your talk of going out after midnight reminded me of the meteor shower tonight and tomorrow I think. Is anyone going to go out and watch? I never seem to think about it until it is too late. My kids and I use to take blankets outside and lie down on them to watch. My neighbors seem to have too many lights now that interfere.
