Welcome, Elaine! I am glad you found your way here to join us. You live in a different world completely from me...I am in NE Iowa and we have some wicked winters some years. Many snow birds from our area go to Arizona but I can't think of the name of the area they go to. Hope to see more of you here. Charlene

Continuing to enjoy reading these posts. Now if I could only remember everyone's names... It does take time, doesn't it! Love the option of changing the name we use here instead of our userid if so desired. Of course, not everyone is comfortable using their first names in the forums.

Hello. I have been away since mid-July and only posting intermittingly. So will reintroduce myself, as I see a lot of new names. I was a regular on the old TOH site, right from the very beginning, back in 1998 (I believe!) until they closed the website. My life has been in turmoil the past 3 months, as I lost my DH 21 months ago and this summer put our farm up for sale - it sold the next day! I had put my name into a Sr. Living complex, but no openings. Moved in with my son/DIL and NO computer!!! Found an apt. in a nearby town and moved there on Labor Day weekend. Heard the Sr. apt. I was waiting for was coming available the following month. Repacked and moved to this apt. last Saturday and told my kids my next move will be next door - the funeral home!! All is right with my world now, as the fellow just left after setting up my computer again. I am sooooooooooo happy to have it back again! You may be tired of seeing me here. I have a lot of reading to do, to catch up with everyone. I have it in the bedroom, so if I can't sleep at night, I can read old posts! LOL If you want to know more about me, just ask! My given name is Ruth, but I've always been Lily on here and feels like my name now. So happy to be back! Lily

Glad you have that computer back. I was W/O one for 2 months and it was really hard. Happy you could keep e-mail and phone the same. Had to change mine and at this age - it is a real challenge.
I have been here almost 4 months now. still learning - and too much stuff at the house yet. 4 big things out tonight. Alma

I finally got through reading all the bios and very interesting all the different locations all are from, their weather, their hobbies, etc. I remember so many of the folks from TOH, B and B. I first signed on in 2006 to Kitchen Chat and then to B AND B and I remember how much PlantDoctor helped with advice with flower gardening. I retired in 1999 from secretary in a school district and then took up flowers for a hobby. When I first signed on I was Mamapet, but when my computer died I had to change my board name to Posynut,NYzone4, and also Posy for short.
Mary in Michigan I do remember you and your daughter in Colorado, too. I have a magnet from her with a barn quilt on barn. I know she used to visit you each year.
Yes, I do know the vacinity of Ellicottville, NY where there are nice vacation homes for winter and summer. Many Canadians have condos, etc., there. Nice place so they tell me, but we have never been there, but my son was when he was in college. Lots of nice shops there and things to do. Also, Bradford, Pa. is not far from me. Probably 40 minutes to the road that leads to Elkland, Pa. and then onto Bradford, Pa. It is usually one of the coldest spots in the winter and makes the weather channel TV news. That is where the ZIPPO factory is located that produced so many ZIPPO lighters at one time.
Good to see everyone old and new. I also post on the BackyardChat board here that is one of the proboards. Many of us post on both boards. Lots of nice folks on both boards and lots of chatter, too. Fun place to spend time to ask questions and to learn from others. So many topics can be discussed on either of the boards so a nice variety. Sure can keep busy on them.

Thanks for the reply on Ellicottville, NY and Bradford, PA, Posy! I have heard about the Zippo factory but we were not around long enough to visit there.

Hi there Posy! YEs Jill comes home often and has been here three times this year. SHe called at around five this evening and had arrived back home safely after two days of driving. I have a beautiful new barn quilt that she painted for me.
