CHIT-CHAT Wednesday evening 8/10

As last night, I will make this short and sweet and then be back later.

This morning Larry and I both worked in the yard tidying things up before our town's festival this weekend.  The parade goes by our house on 2 sides, so we want it to look good.  
Thank goodness we started early because by noon it was too hot to do anything outside...and the humidity is awful  The only thing saving us is that there is a breeze.  Later after the sun goes down I may do some watering.

This afternoon we did inside things...laundry, dusting, vacuuming, etc.  I also spent a little time on the puter and since I seemed to have my puter brain working today, I gave Lair a call and we got his siggie on and also figured out how to post pics from Tiny pic.  That is the program he has always used and I could read his frustration in his posts.  We are both happier tonight now that we conquered it!

Good evening,  I am just bored because I am in humidity prison.  Tim went for his radiation treatment and had me promise I wouldn't go outside before he got home.  He was thinking I would get bored and clean but Charlene called and saved me from that. The house really needs cleaning but my siggie and pictures came first.  We didn't do anything, Charlene did it all.  My biggest problem is I was working with a site that was in French and I speak English, I'm not real good at that either.  She found the same site in English so that made it easier. I guess I should give some thought on what I can waste my day on tomorrow.  If I don't figure that plan out I will have to clean.  If you have any ideas let me know.  You all have a good evening.

It is a very hot and humid day here also Charlene. I hope Melissa and family are faring well and enjoying themselves. It will cool down for the weekend and be right back to hot for the work week again, oh no.

I spent a couple of hours on the computer this afternoon looking for a parttime evening job since we haven't worked many hours at my full time job because of the heat. I have slowly gotten behind at having any extra money  . 

No plans tonight except to watch Big Brother and then go out and water what plants are still halfway alive.

Same weather here, it's just too hot out there. Lair I had the same idea as you, do some cleaning BUT it's much easier to think of other things to do and by the time I decide I should do some cleaning my mind starts all over with reasons not to...love your siggy :)

Charlene, that's a lot of people coming to visit your little town. Where do they all park or stay??? I know you always work extra hard to make your yard more appealing. I'm sure you and Larry have it in tip top shape and everyone will wonder who your landscaper is. :)

Kathy, not being able to be in this heat my heart goes out to you. It's hard enough to keep bills etc. paid up with a full week let alone losing hours. Hopefully we will get some relief soon.

The board seems so alive now, what a difference from just a week ago over there!!!!! Loving it even though I usually don't have much to say.

Good evening.  It was a hot and miserable weather day here today.  I know you all can relate.  I think we should have about the same kind of weather tomorrow.  I thought Friday would be better, but it looks like it will be more of the same.  Saturday MAY be a little better, not by much, though. Sunday is looking good!  DH heard thunder earlier so he decided to not go in the pool.  Judging by the radar, he may as well swim.  There is a long line of showers coming at us from SW Indiana, but it curves about 15 miles to the south of us.  That figures ...

Nothing really special happened at the memorabilia museum today.  Most of our supplies did not arrive in time for us to package a lot of things today, so we mostly shorted, filed, and packaged what we could.  I came home and watched South Korea play Mexico in soccer, and now I am watching the US play Australia in Olympic basketball.  I'm kind of glad both things were on today.  It distracted me from my normal routine of coming home and watching my favorite soap, which won't be on the entire 2 weeks of the Olympics.  I had a sense that I might be a little addicted to the program, but this really solidifies the notion.  Yikes!!!  (rofl)  

Like Kathy, I will be settling down to watch Big Brother pretty soon.  I'm kind of sleepy so I hope it is exciting tonight so I don't fall asleep on it. 

Charlene, I like what you did with getting Lair a siggie.  You are really working your computer skills this past week or so, aren't you?  I am impressed!

"Humidity prison", that is a perfect description for this summer, Lair.  I'm glad Charlene kept you indoors today working on your computer stuff.  It was beastly outdoors today! 

I'm sorry you are having to look for another part time job, Kathy.  It hasn't been hard enough on your gardening that it has barely rained in your neck of the woods, now the heat keeping you from working is really adding insult to injury.  I hope you find a job that you will enjoy. 

Well, I guess I better be moving on now.  The end of the basketball game is seconds away, and I really do want to see that.  Have a good night!

Evening all. Yes, its dang hot here in extreme sw MN. It was 95 with a heat index of 104 when we were at blue mounds. It was take your breath away hot! We kept hikes short and spent time in the a/c in the suburban. We stopped for pie and coffee too! We swam when we got back here to cool the cores, now are enjoying a breeze in the shade. Its been raining on and off at home and is only 63. I'd prefer somewhere in the middle! Lol!

Glad to see Liny was here but hope she can figure things out. I'm sure she is hitting quick reply, then instead of posting it she's hitting the reply button that brings you back to the main reply window. If so then she needs only hit create post. Not sure why it gives you both options in quick reply.

Lily-I decided to change my screen name since I'm hopeful we will be on here a long time and my kids will grow up. My frog signature may not be showing up b/c I'm posting from my phone. No signatures show up on my phone, so I would have no way to know if mine isn't working for others.

Tomorrow we will go to our last park. Hopefully it won't be so hot. Have a good night.

Good evening everyone. Still 90degree temps here with no rain. The little we got with a thunderstorm early this morning barley is a drop in the bucket.


I actually just came in from outside for a change. I neatened up my mailbox bed by removing all the poor dead Shasta daisy heads and some BE susans. Garbage is tomorrow and since I had the can at the curb anyway, it was easy to clean up. I've turned the sprinkler on now to give it a good soaking.


I've been turning in early every night because I'm just too tired. But then by the wee hours, I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed so I get up real early.

Hi! Since I have had company for 10 days & vegged out after they left yesterday I thought I'd better get a move on today! Laundry & a variety of things got done around the house. Didn't even get outside as it was kind of coolish. I know some of you would like a bit of that! LOL Hey, jump in your vehicles & come join me by the lakeside.

Lair, if you need something to kill time, do like I do and grab a book! That's my answer to any situation! LOL

Had company briefly since I started this & have lost my train of thought. Easily done. I can tell you! So, will go for now. Enjoy your evening.

Good evening. It was warm and humid but not as bad as it has been and since I was at work all day I can't complain about the weather.
Lair, I like your siggie. I wouldn't have been any help with a French Web site either and I have been working on a french translation of our machine manual. That one is done and in a few weeks I should be starting on a Swedish one.  Don't know Swedish either. 

One more day of work this week and then it will be back to forgetting everything I'm working on before I go back. Even if I make notes it seems I always have to take time to remember where I am with something after being off for over a week. 

Kathy, good luck on your job search. I haven't had any luck and I have searched for jobs all over the state.

Hi everyone.  Today has been so humid/hot.  Seems everyone is going through such hot weather now.  I went early to the Recreation Center here to get back to my early morning 2 mile walk with friends.  Had such a great time.  I'm the youngest one in our group (72).  Today was my first day walking after foot surgery two weeks ago & guess what-I over did it & my toe bled a little.  Had to have my second toe removed because of a terrible hammer/toe. I'm fine, but walking will have to wait till stitches come out Monday morning.  Don't like being down-miss walking & especially working in my flowers.  Hubby mowed this afternoon--kind a dusty on him, so DRY.  Olympics are going on & I really have enjoyed them.  Have a great evening everyone.  Happy Gardening, nanatnzone6

Good evening.  Coming here and seeing so many posts made my day as the rest of it sucked.  I shouldn't even be here as I don't believe in posting if I don't have a positive attitude.  Oh well maybe after tomorrow I will have lots of time to post and spend in my gardens.

    Good evening everyone. I had a good day, vacuumed and wiped down the windows and woodwork in all 4 bedrooms upstairs this morning, before going uptown to meet with my Circle ladies at 11:30 for lunch. After we ate, I went to the bank to get a certified check for a deposit on my new apt; then the ins. office to cancel my home Ins. (on the 16th) and to the library to renew my card (it is good at all MN. libraries). Then to the P.O., but they work so hard, they get 1.5 hour lunch breaks, and were still closed, so will do that later. Think all is done now relating to closing day on Mon. Also called the elect. co. to transfer the acct., so the buyers don't have to pay for hookup!

  Came home with enough leftover Oriental Chicken Salad from lunch to fill me up for my supper. I don't eat much!

   It was so hot and sticky, that I didn't feel like washing out kitchen cabinets, but as I'm a night owl for working, I will start that when I leave here.

   I managed to get an avatar on here, but Charlene emailed and said she could put a lily on and I see she succeeded with a Lovely red day lily. She is so clever!

   Kathy, I see several places are advertising for p/t help now that kids are returning to school shortly. Of course that is in Fast Food or $$$ store type work.

  Melissa, thanks for explaining the name change and why Mr. Froggie only shows up at times. Bad to confuse old ladies! :)

   Angela, loved seeing your picture, very attractive. Not like I'd imagined you, and much younger looking.

   I can't type as fast as I could when working - arthritis you know, so Hi to everyone else. Have to get at wiping out my kitchen cabinets. 

  Oh, Liny is not very proficient on the computer! She has messed up a # of times, and her DH had to fix it! :)

I made it here. Had a problem with the activation code. They said I put it in wrong! They were wrong. Changed my board name so hopefully all will get use to the new one. Yes it was a hot and humid day. I worked outside this morning for a bit watering plants and raking some sticks up, but that was all for the day. Gotta get to the store now since it is cooler out. We need food in this house.

I will say nitty night to all for I have to get going. Hope tomorrow is not too bad, but it looks the same with rain forecasted.
