Good morning friends.
It was nice to see so many of the "old" gang show up yesterday as well as a few new faces. So glad to see everyone.
We actually woke up to a damp deck this morning. There were threats of thunderstorms overnight but I don't think that happened - just a little, and I do mean little, bit of rain.
This morning my pickle group will be busy making mincemeat, our version of Worcestershire sauce, corn relish and pickled green beans so no time to stop and chat.
I'm hoping to be golfing this afternoon so no cooking for me - hubby will be on his own. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning Tasty. It is overcast here this morning and I too had damp decks this morning but there was only .03" of rain in the gauge.
Not much for me today except work. Last night after work I did finally get a change to stop at the community garden to check on my plots. I got my first tomatoes. Had 3 1/2 pounds all together. With the lack of water however they are not in very good shape but sure made a great tomato sandwich for dinner last night.
Have fun with your pickling group today. Wish I still golfed but no time, too expensive and not sure with my shoulders I could even swing a club.

Good morning!
Dinner tonight will be a clean out the refrigerator meal, which simply means leftovers. I have a small amount of each of the following: spaghetti and meatballs, Lecho (Hungarian hotdog stew), and last nights pork chop dinner.
Waving to all and wishing each of you a beautiful day! Lori

Good morning friends. Tasty I replied to your pm and then TOH logged me out. I keep trying to log back in but it won't let me. I wanted to ask everyone if we want to keep with TOH till the very end or just stick with proboards. Let me know. Tasty thanks for getting us started. I'm in the mood for Annie juicy medium rare cheeseburger for dinner tonight. Taters tots for a ide dish. Enjoy your day. Nancy

Good morning ladies ! As you know I have visited your board on TOH but don't feel as tho I have much to contribute as far as conversations go. I'm so thrilled to be able to visit here and still read menus and recipes ! I was so let down when TOH announced that their boards are closing ! Again, nice to see you all, and I will contribute when possible !

Tasty, I'm confused, is there another forum for us?. My computer was down last weekend, so maybe I missed something. Don't understand the email from Bet today. I want to be with all of you, too.

I am hungry for a good hamburger full of chopped onions grilled out. I often make one or two for myself and cook the other burgers just plain as they don't like onions throughout them like I do. I like onions and/or garlic in anything.
Tonight's meal, I don't know yet..................Still have some potato salad left I made the other day, a favorite of mine anytime of year.

Good morning all.
Cloudy and cool here in San Diego this morning. We have been lucky this summer. Not too much heat. I know the worst is yet to come.
Dinner will be meatloaf, sweet potatoes and salad. We have not had meatloaf in month so it will taste good.
Have a great day.

Tasty, I'm confused, is there another forum for us?. My computer was down last weekend, so maybe I missed something. Don't understand the email from Bet today. I want to be with all of you, too. Lilymouse, the other thread on Kitchen Table Friends is the one that was specifically set up for the Cooking for 2 group that Beema started each Monday. This thread is replacing the one from Cook's Corner that Nancy started each morning. You visited the Kitchen table friends yesterday and are very welcome to visit either one or both according to what you feel like. The Kitchen Table forum is a closed board whereas this one is open to everyone. Hope this clears things up for you.

Sheltiemum and Sweetgum52 - nobody needs to be a good cook to visit and post on here. I think it's fair to say that probably most of us enjoy cooking but it's nice to share ideas and generally chat about what we are up to. ALL are welcome.

Nancy, yes it sure does look good! Think I will have to give it a try soon--it's perfect for our hot and humid weather here in Florida. Lori

I posted on the 9th thread...oops! Here's what I wrote:
Hi, everyone! Went to an Italian "Kitchen" for lunch today; had half a panini with roasted veggies...yum. Tonight we are having a TOH recipe..."Garden Fresh Seafood Cocktail".
The ride to the restaurant was down to Burlington (all highway driving)...it poured the whole way. I didn't know whether to rejoice or be scared!!!! LOL
After lunch we slogged into Trader Joe's (still pouring). I got the scallion pancakes, Nancy!!! Man, do those look delicious...I bought 2 packages!!! I also got some garlic fries, vegetable gyoza, and a root vegetable ravioli. Love that store!!!!
Waving to everyone! See you tomorrow!!!
I prefer to be here instead of a closed forum. Welcome all!!!

We had baked cod, scalloped potatoes, spinach, and fresh sliced tomatoes for supper. Not as good as DD made for us when she visited but we still enjoyed it. The sky is dark and I hear thunder so our nightly rain is about to fall. Having a conversation with myself regarding dessert. Should I put hot fudge or strawberry topping on my bowl of vanilla ice cream? I'll let you know my(?) decision. (rofl) Sweet dreams to all.
