Good day/evening everyone.
Hot, hot, hot here again. The week is going to get hotter each day. We have had enough of over 100 temps.
We have a water ban in place, no outside water use, sooooooooo we are literally using our dish water, bath water and dehumidifer water. It's hard for both of us because of our health issue to transport this water outside. Everything is suffering badly but not much one can do. The garden will be done early for sure this year.
Not much going on of interest. I am just so thankful for this new home, I can post again Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Hope everyone had a great day and enjoy your evening.... :)

Good evening Donna and everyone that drops by later.
Donna good to see you here, yay! I suppose if you had been reading you heard me complaining and crying about the heat and no rain this summer too. Yes, the gardens will be done much earlier this year than usual. I may as well say they are done now because what is left look like crap. The weather man just reported about the hurricane down south and the cold front from Canada will bring moisture BUT so far it looks as if North Dakota and Minnesota will get it and not us :'(
I worked 9 hours today but I did take an extra break or 2 ;) . Nothing planned for tonight except to eat a bowl of bean soup that I made when it gets done and then sit out on the porch and relax. I better take advantage of this weather to use the stove and to enjoy some time outside because tomorrow through Thursday it will be in the 90s with high humidity.

Evening. Was a gorgeous day here with sunny skies, a good wind, and temps in the low 80s. No humidity here either. Looks much drier here then home for sure.
Today we biked around a bit, did a 3 mile hike along a ridge of woods to rolling grassy hills called kames. My little dd thought it looked just like the spot in the opening of little house on the prairie! Lol! We will be going to walnut grove this week, so she is very excited! Dh and the 2 kids swam after lunch and dd1 and I read. She isn't ready to wet her wounds yet. We then went to town and went on a couple adventures. The 2 kids and I swam when we got back while dh made supper. Will have a campfire and relax tonight.
Glad to see Lily made it back.
Have a great night.

Good evening, I am not sure but I feel like posting something tonight. I really wish it was something wonderful or interesting but you have to remember who this is. I picked the garden and brought it all in for it to rot on the countertop. Little did I ever dream when I was planting these seeds Tim would be undergoing chemo again and couldn't eat any of it. A good thing did happen today because Tim announced the girls in the chemo office will take all the produce he can bring in. That will clear off the counter in the morning before he goes in for his treatment. My teenage buddy came over twice today. Once just to talk and the other time to mow the lawn. It took him 2 and a half hours to mow today. He said he was real careful around the beds so I don't have to edge much. Tonight I'm just going to have some chicken from the store and watch some TV. I'm lucky because they are old shows but my memory is so bad they are new to me. Sometimes I kind of remember the plot but it just makes me feel smart when I figure them out. Well, you all have a good evening. Lair

Good evening all. So glad to see Donna here . I'm waving at you from NY. It was a lovely day here also but I was busy at work so the day flew by. Finally called someone to fix the mower so they came and got it tonight. Even though we haven't had much rain the darn weeds keep growing looks horrible. Melissa I would love to see Walnut Grove always wanted to grow up in that era or the Waltons era. Hope you take pictures. Just got done watering and listening to tv before bed. I really like this board it goes right to the conversation and no waiting. Have a good evening.

Melissa when you go to Walnut Grove you will only be about an hour or so away from where I was yesterday at my family reunion which was at Devils Gulch in Garretson SD.
Glad to hear you are all enjoying your trip and sorry to hear about your daughters fall.

Melissa I would love to see Walnut Grove always wanted to grow up in that era or the Waltons era.
Sandy I also would loved to have grown up in that time period. I usually don't watch reruns of anything but I always enjoy watching all the Little House On The Prairie and The Waltons episodes no matter how many times I have seen them.

Welcome to my normal summers, Kathy and Donna. I am sorry it is so bad in your world because I totally understand. I guess now you know why I am ready to cut my plants down by August every year. And this year has been worse. We have had rain in the past week but it is really too late to help anything except the grass and weeds. It has also been cooler, if mid to upper 90s can be considered cooler. Right now it is still 90 and it's getting dark. After work I did laundry and dishes and gave DGS a bath. It is past his bedtime so we will be heading to bed soon. We did have some semi good news at work today. They had a few orders come in last week. We will still be week on week off for now but at least some departments could go back to full time and perhaps everyone will. My luck as soon as it cools off so I can work outside again we will be working again and I will only have my 3 day weekends, possibly with a toddler around.
Melissa, sounds like you are having a great trip.

Lair, I didn't know Tim was going through chemo again. I hope it works and he doesn't get too sick.

Folks, Liny is very lonesome over on TOH by herself. This is what she posted tonight. It would be great if some could suffer the slowness and let her know we are still here for her and will get her over here as soon as possible
Hi who ever is left,
I tried again today and nada!
Missing all and thought there might be others in the same predicament.
Mostly company on and off today. Never got outside and when anyone says "anything I can do to help" I just want to say help me weed my gardens! LOL Instead, I just ask for their prayers for DH.
Got some cooking done , put up and frozen. Doesn't take much to feed one person, but I do like variety.
Lily, are you back on and waiting to get to the new site?
Only a day and missing all my new friends.
We'll see how DH makes out tomorrow and I'll try to get into our new home.
LINY

Hi there! Lair, you make me laugh reading your post about being old, trying to remember and then everything new to you again! The gardens and flowers, lawns are awful this year. So drought stricken here and another hot, humid week again. I watered some of the plants today so the blanket flower is still in bloom some sedum, black eyed susan, yarrow, phlox and the remainder of Stargazer lilies, and sneezeweed. The purple salvia has to be cut back and some dug up to transplant in another space. It is becoming too crowded. Need to water some more tomorrow. And that is the day I usually scrub the kitchen floor, too, while DH is off to Burger King for coffee and conversation.
Time to do some reading for a while now. Things are working good here I think.

Good evening. I have a funny for y'all ... I just went to open a new tab so I could see everyone else's comments before I posted. I thoroughly forgot that I don't have to do that anymore; everything is listed below the reply box! YAY!!!
The funeral for our friend's father went well this morning. We didn't stay for the dinner following it. DH had to get back to work. and I had things I wanted to get done around here. Right around lunchtime I got an email from DDIL. It contained a link to their official wedding photos and a blog entry from their photographer posting about their wedding. It made my day!!! Wedding photos are done so differently from when we had ours done. The kids have all the pictures digitally and can email me any pics I may want. I can print them out myself, or we can order from the photographer. I think we will probably do a mixture of both. I did a lot of going through the 700+ pics most of the afternoon. Now that I think of it, I still have to show them all to DH. He only saw the blog pictures earlier. Anyway, it was a pretty laid back kind of day around here, but I am still thinking to head to bed early tonight.
Donna, I feel terrible about your tough summer weather. We've had three very lovely weather days here, but that will change tomorrow. It seems like we cannot string together more than three days of comfortable weather. Oh well, it won't be long and I will be griping about being too cold and having too much snow. It's what I do. ;) I am so very happy that you can post with us again. You were sorely missed, ma'am!
I have a FB friend who is in NC, Kathy, and she'd love to send us some of her rain. She posted today that she thought they were having a monsoon at her place. It seems so hard to find a happy medium with our weather. It is either too hot and dry, or it is cool and wet. I guess we will just have to hope for a nice fall, eh? That will be here before we know it.
Melissa, your trip sounds like it is going well, except for your DD's accident. That is a miserable way to start a vacation! I hope she is a quick healer. The fact that you are going to Walnut Grove makes me smile. We all loved Little House on the Prairie at our house. DH and I still watch it when we can. It's still better than most things on television these days.
I absolutely LOVE seeing your post tonight, Lair! I have missed you. I know you haven't gone anywhere, but with the slowness of the old TOH boards, I just didn't venture much from my morning and nighttime posts. I'm sorry to hear about Tim having to do chemo again. I hope that goes well and he can put this all behind him once and for all. How nice that he was able to find a place for your extra produce!
Sandy, you sure have that right about needing your mower to work for the weeds. When nothing else is growing, the weeds never stop. I know exactly what you mean about the speed of this forum. I wandered over to the TOH forum earlier to see what was happening. It took so long to load the page that I gave up. I'll probably try to post before bed tonight since LINY is hanging out there by her self now.
That is semi good news about your work, Leslie. I hope things fall into line so you can have the work you need, but also the time off to do what you have to do away from there.
Bette, I appreciate you letting us know about LINY. I will make it a point to pop over and say "Hey" to her.
That having been said, I guess I better go wish LINY a good night, and then I am heading for bed. I don't think I slept real well last night. I never have anywhere to go in the morning and I think I was worried I would oversleep, so I barely slept at all. Have a good night! See you all in the morning.
Hi Posy! You must have been typing when I was. It has been hot, humid, and dry here also. Seems like the story of so many of us.

Hi everyone, it is hot hot here too. 90s to 100. We all have air conditioning, but we have been getting rain off and on all week and that helps. I hate changes!!! This was so hard for me but I made it here. So glad to see most everyone has made it and I know Linys feeling. So good to see Molly and Donna. Thank you Bette and Charlene for doing this!. I was hesitant sp? to try this morning afraid I might not be able to get on after the shut down that Bette did. I didn't even try last night! So far I love the new board. Next step is try to post pictures, think I have my avatar, we'll see. Abey

Hello. I'm not sure if I'm replying properly. This will take forever, if I have to scroll down to see each individual post! I sure can't read and expect to remember all that was said. My kids were here today and emptied out just about everything in my house. The boys will be going back on the road tomorrow and don't know when they will be back. DS2 wants to be here for the signing on the 15th, so if he goes to Cal. he won't make it. Here's hoping! I'm going to stay at their house until Labor Day weekend, and then the apt. will be ready for me to move into. Two weeks with my DIL if we survive! LOL I chatted with Liny on the old site. Copied the address to get here, but she doesn't cut and paste, so don't know if she can do it. She is very timid about doing anything like that and always turned to her DH for help. I hope she will try! Donna, nice to see you back. Is life getting back to a "near normal" for you? The talk about Walnut Grove, I live about 15 miles from the community of Burr Oak, Ia where Ma Ingalls worked in the hotel one year in Laura's story. Come visit here, too. And there is Wilder history in the town in MN, just a few miles north of where Charlene and Larry live. As far as some of you who liked the Walton's "life style" I lived and it was just as presented, altho' I lived close to Detroit, MI. Always sat in front of the radio to listen to broadcasts, just like they show it! Today was very nice here. This was the 5th day with no precipation since June 15, but coming to an end by Wednesday again, with more Heat and Humidity. Grr! No smilies or frowns now! Can't respond to more, this has taken tooooooo long to scroll back and forth. LILY
