Good morning friends and happy birthday Betsy! I hope you enjoyed your birthday weekend away.
Overcast here this morning and thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon.
Tonight we're having steak and I might make a new potato recipe to go with it. Herbed Potato Stacks: www.southernliving.com/recipes/herbed-potato-stacks-recipe?utm_source=pinterest.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=southernliving
Yesterday the weather was gorgeous! 83*, no humidity and a wonderful breeze. I shut the air off and opened the windows. Spent some time on the porch reading a book that I'm almost done with. It's titled The Book of Summers by Emylia Hall.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good Morning !
Happy Birthday Betsy!! Hope the weekend was wonderful.
Does anyone have a tried and true MOIST banana bread recipe? I have lots of bananas to use up today.
I woke up early, when DH got up so went ahead and got out of bed. Since I was lazy yesterday I will need to make up for it today. I want to go and see Helen, bake banana bread, get a mani/pedi, maybe bathe the boy dog. They are serving baked chicken with stuffing for lunch so I told DH we could eat over there today. that will save me some time. Have not thought about supper just yet.
We are leaving for Oklahoma tomorrow, but don't have to leave super early. We will plan on lunch in Dallas, then meet up with our friend Mary in OKC, who will be home after 2. We don't have to be in Ponca City at any certain time. The first event of the reunion is Friday night. I am hoping to find a place in town to buy some dish pack boxes to take with me, I want to pack up DH's grandmother's dishes while we are there.
Need to go and get some stuff done. Have a gr-8 day!

Good morning Friends.
I am all covered in Hives AGAIN! Dang! So I am back on Benadryl! Sheesh! I wish I knew what I was allergic to! both elbows and the back of my legs. Maybe I am allergic to work? Yeah!! that's it!!!!
Nancy- We had similar weather as you just not 83! LOL 75. I like the looks of that potato recipe. I might have to give it a try here soon.
Betsy- Happy Birthday. I too hope you had a good time with hubby!
Hope everyone has a good day. Send prayers and good thoughts for my son today. He goes for his ER interview~ It looks like if he does well today they are going to give him the job based on his 2 years as an ER tech and his Paramedic training. Also the local fire chief is recommending him and he has a lot of sway with the local ER.

Chris I have idea for you...come to Iowa and you will get rid of what is bothering you!!! Sorry to hear this, makes me itch!! That is a bummer. What have you been doing different? Makes you really wonder. Different meds? Sometimes the generic ones have different things in them. Why am I telling you that your son probably knows all about that. Get better soon!
Nancy those potatoes looked good. Will have to try when having company. I could not get it to copy so wrote it out and will type later. Be good with a good steak!
Now I see we have another gray and white kitty here. Don't know where all these kitties are coming from. Just had a pretty white come here when girls were here and he was tame. Red fought him so took him in the carrier to the neighbors and he is doing good there. So glad. This is Red's territory!!
Have a good trip to Oklahoma Tammy. Too bad things did not happen at the same time. Nice you can get away to go.
Happy Birthday Betsy! Have not figured when the day was so hope you had a nice trip too.
Going to get my car serviced today. That should slow up a little and not be driving so much anymore. All the running with folks sure put on the miles. I had a lot going to funerals and taking care of my Mom's house.
Have a great day everyone!! Marlene

Good morning. 54 here this morning and the sun is trying but forecast is for PM showers and then T showers for tomorrow. I spent yesterday doing Lions reports and I did get the kitchen cleaned up. Last night I got out of work a little early so was home a little after 9:30 which was great. Grabbed as the term goes here, an adult beverage and made the mistake of checking my email. As of July first there is a big changes going on with Lions and redistricting. To complicates to explain but there were 12 districts in NYS. Now there are 11. Our district was combined with the district to the south of us. I am helping with the transition of getting website up to date and newsletter combined. There is a directory that has to be done which involves listing all the clubs, their officers and all the Past District Governors. Back to checking the email, I had an email from the poor guy who is doing all of this so I sat here until after midnight gathering information he needed about our district. There is 5 of us involved so there were lots of emails but finally got what information I could to him. I forced myself out of bed at 7 this morning and have been sitting here trying to figure out where I want to start outside this morning. The consensus at the moment between me, myself and I is to play lumberjack which I didn't do the other day. I have to cut down a big yew and cut up and remove some logs from an area before I can finish getting yard art and containers in place. I also really need to make a Walmart and Bank run. Like many others we are headed for the 90's this weekend which is hot for this area. It is crazy that we go from 40's to 90's in 4 days time.
Chris, you know stress can cause hives. My DH once had them real bad and the Dr. told him they are a body stress reliever rather than a heart attack. Hope they are better soon.
Have to get moving trees don't cut themselves.
Have a great day.

Chris--thinking of poor you and those hives. Have you ever heard this Ogden Nash poem on the subject of scratching?
One bliss for which There is no match Is when you itch To up and scratch Yet doctors and dowagers deprecate scratching, And medical circles consistently hold That scratchings as wicked as feeding a cold. Hell's flame burns unquenched 'neath how many a stocking On account of to scratch in a salon is shocking! 'Neath tile or thatch That man is rich Who has a scratch for every itch. Ho, squirmers and writhers , how long will you suffer The medical tyrant, the social rebuffer! On the edge of the door let our shoulder blades rub, Let the drawing room now be as free as the tub! I'm greatly attached To Barbara Frietchie. I'll bet she scratched When she was itchy.
Sorry--I couldn't resist. The last 4 lines were the only poetry that I learned by heart when I was in high school! Are the hives continuing still from the spider bite--or are you really going to have to get a doctor's note to get you out of work? Hope you feel better soon.
Happy birthday, Betsy!
Bet--thanks for the banana bread recipe. How many of the mini loaves do you get from it?
Nancy--the potatoes look good. They look like a vertical variation on hasselback potatoes but easier to serve and get lots of seasoning and butter between the layers. That's always a plus for me.
Tonight I am going to make pot roast again in my instant pot. This time I have some chuck roast which I think will cook up more moist. I found a 1 1/2 lb. roast marked down because of its use-by date yesterday. Just a perfect size for me. With hot weather coming, it'll be nice to have some cold roast beef in the fridge.
Have a good day, everyone.

Tammy, I have a banana bread recipe but I'm getting ready to head out. I'll post it after.
Lori, I read in the paper today that some utility workers found 2 bobcat kittens in a tree. I thought of you as you are always seeing them. They were endangered here for quite some time but now it's good that two were spotted. The workers left them undisturbed and when they went back later they were gone. The mother must've came for them. Here's the article and a photo:

Birdy, I am not sure on the number I get of the little pans for the banana bread. Maybe 4. Don't have that in my notes.
