Good morning friends.
Sorry I have been missing. Between my eye and work I have just read here but not done much else.
My boss has been out for almost 3 weeks now and last week all his work fell on me so I have been out straight all week with state reports and my own client visits. One of my coworkers did do a couple client visits for me on Friday as I just had to get the quarterly reports to the state. She was a great help. Monday looks to be as bad as I will be doing the interviews for the new directors position and then on Wednesday the case managers position (mine). I have just the two interviews scheduled for this week and will do one more next week. We have had not many applications for the directors position but lots for mine.
My eye has been very blurry with this dot right in front of me all the time. Very annoying for sure.
Hope you all have a great day, Chris (yep still sipping contentedly away on the nectar of the ancients)

Good Morning ! Thanks Chris for starting us off. I was wondering about you. Glad to know all is ok, just busy. Sorry about your eye problem. Sometimes my contact blurs up, so I can relate a little bit. Very annoying! I hope things slow down for you.
DH chopped up the brisket last night then he got up very early - around 4:30 - and started cooking it down in the crockpot. Sure smells good in here right now. I got the sopapilla cheesecake done yesterday, so not much to do this morning except get myself ready.
It is a bright and sunny day. It's on the cool side though. Our high should be 64. Just checked and it is 42 right now.
I have heard rave reviews about the Instant Pots. I'd love one, but where would I put it. It would probably have to be stored out in our shed. I love all the different things you can do with it. I actually have 2 pressure cookers right now. One is electric and the other is a stove top. One was given to me and the other I got out of a big box of items that were donated to the resale shop. There were 2 in there, both electric, so I bought one of them. I only used it once I think!
The kittens are getting very mobile now. They were 1 month old on the 13th. They roam all over the shed. I might try to take a photo of them using the tablet and see if I can get it posted from there. For some reason I can't post photos on here.
Better run and start getting myself ready. Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Good morning friends.
(((Chris))) Sorry your eye is still giving you problems. I hope things quickly settle down for you at work.
Tammy, Now I'm in the mood for brisket!
Have fun this weekend Betsy!
I survived the party but was exhausted the next day cooking and cleaning up. The kids had a great time.
Not sure what I'm cooking tonight.
Enjoy your day.

I am a prisoner in my own home. We have been having freezing rain and snow since 8 PM last night. It is not suppose to stop until 8 AM Monday morning then will rain all day Monday. When I did my weather report this morning there was only 1 1/2" of snow/ice on the deck however.
Yesterday I ended up in the kitchen all day. Realized I had a lot of food that needed to be taken care of before it spoiled. I made a double batch of ricotta cheese and froze meatballs and sauce for 4 meals. I also had almost a 1/2 a loaf of bread that became dried bread crumbs. Did the prep for dinner last night and got the kitchen cleaned up.
I did manage to get the seedlings downstairs watered but never did do upstairs or plant seed or transplant. That is on the list for today. I do need to check the plants that are still in the shop to see if they need water but will do that when I skate out to get more soil for transplanting. Can't get into the greenhouse to check the watering out there because of the ice.
I still have minutes to type for tomorrow night that should be emailed out but have a feeling I will just print them off and take them to the meeting as I don't really feel like typing them. Also have 500 raffle tickets that need to be numbered.
First of I have 4# of potatoes that I need to peel to make french fries. It is a long process and they need to get into the refrigerator in a vinegar and water solution soon if I hope to get them ready to freeze today.
Chris, sorry you eye is still bothering you. Are you getting any of this nasty weather? I must have missed something. I see you are interviewing for someone to replace you. Did you get a promotion?
Nancy, glad you survived the birthday party.
Tammy, the kittens must be getting real cute. Have you read the information on the help thread on how to post pictures here?
Dinner tonight will be hot meatball sub.
Waiving to those I missed.
Have a great day.

Tammy- I have a brisket in the freezer that I am waiting for DS to smoke for me. He may do it next weekend. I hope so.
Nancy- Glad you survived the party! LOL Now rest up.
Bet- I did get a promotion. I will be the new Assistant to the executive director. I am doing that position right now and the directors position as he has been out for 3 weeks and will be out next week too. Has been a bit hectic for me. I have had to ask my co workers to do some of my job. They have been great and done a lot for me.

Bet- We are coated in ice! It is sleeting out now and looks like it will all the way through tomorrow. We have about a quarter inch on the road so far. Chris (going to stay in and sip HC!)

Chris, congratulations if I didn't say it before. As I read your reply I guess I did read about your promotion but old brains don't always remember what they read. Stay home and stay safe.

Chris and Bet--I'm so sorry to hear how much icing you are getting. We lucked out on the south edge of the storm. There's ice on untreated roads--I guess about 1/8"--but that's not good for driving. But from what you are saying, you folks are going to be dealing with this for a while. I don't think there is anything I hate more than ice storms.
Chris--is the spot you are seeing in the center of your vision the floater that broke loose earlier? Does it move at all? I've found that I can deal with mine when they bug me too much by a quick head jerk sideways or up and down depending on where it is. That generally moves it out of the way for a while. Of course, it does make it look like I have some sort of an uncontrollable twitch to other people so I'm careful to do it when no one is looking. LOL!
Stay safe, folks.

Birdy- Yes it is the floater that broke loose earlier this month. If I quickly look to the left it goes away for a while. LOL yeah I don't do it around a lot of people either!

Boy, did I ever come back to rotten weather this year! Normally when we come home in April it's time to think about golfing - not this year. We are as prepared as we can be for this storm that really belongs in January. I made lots of bread yesterday and froze it and cooked some chicken breasts and a pork roast that we can use for dinners or sandwiches if we lose power. The candles are ready and we have gas for the generator - not much else we can do but wait and see how it all turns out. Congrats on the promotion Chris - I missed that. No idea what we will eat tonight - it really depends on what the weather does. So far, we have not had too much freezing rain altho our feathered friends may not agree. Hubby was watching a bird land on the deck railing and poor thing went sliding backwards as the wind caught him and there was no way for him to stop This freezing "stuff" is supposed to finish about 8 or 9 this evening and then regular rain all day tomorrow followed by a little bit of snow on Tuesday - enough already! Have a lovely day what ever your weather.

Chris congratulations on the promotion!! Sounds like you have been super busy. Nice you got your butt back on here today!!! So you are excused!! Devil made me say that!! That is what happens when I miss church like I did this morning. We had rain, snow, rain then more snow so kept my butt in here where I have been since Tuesday. Pretty soon I will be talking to myself!
Chuck called this morning and they are going to wait to go on their little trip tomorrow. I will talk care of dogs for them. I just made some chicken noodle soup and some rolls out of Pillsbury crescent rolls and they do not look like the picture!! So left Chuck's a message I have their dinner made come and get it. With the ice I don't go out on it anymore. It was their Ann. and they were going to North Dakota to casino. So glad they waited to go tomorrow. Sioux Falls had 13 ft. of snow. Told him he is going the wrong direction!!
Red does not like this weather at all. Took 2 tries to get him to go out to bathroom now he is sleeping. What a life he has. If I am sitting in living room he paces in a circle for me to follow him to dish for more to eat or to the door to go outside. He don't need to talk!
Everyone have a great day!! And you also Chris!!

Afternoon! We don't have the wind, but we did have some sleet; now it's raining. Tomorrow for the Boston Marathon, it's supposed to rain heavily. Tonight we are having leftover roast beef and lemon dill spuds. I made a TOH recipe for San Diego Succotash for a side dish. Chris - I also missed that you got a promotion...clapping congrats!!! DH went to file our income tax today...we lucked out again! Yea! Spending a quiet Sunday. Enjoy the day! Waving!

Good morning. It's another beautiful day here. I just wish they would get some nice days up North as that is where we are heading in May. The monthly birthday party is this afternoon at the clubhouse. Then I might play hand and foot.
Ann- I bet you are glad income tax is done for another year. I know I was even though we had to pay in. ( something about we didn't pay in enough for health insurance).
Chris- congratulations on promotion. I turn fast to get the fly away for awhile. I have done it in public and just say a fly is bugging me.Lol.
NANCY- glad to hear the party went good.
MARLENE- I don't blame Red for not liking that weather.
Tamara- I can't wait to see the picture of the kitties.
Well, it's 10:10 so I need to get ready for church. ELAINE

Chris--I am clueless. I just realized that you got a promotion. Wonderful!
Weebill--What a great description of moving a floater--get the fly away! I'll have to remember that explanation when people see me twitching my head. As a birder, I sometimes mistake the little bitty floaters as birds in the sky. That can be annoying!
Oh, joy. I just got a notice on my phone that when our winter weather advisory ends this afternoon a high wind advisory begins timed to run through Monday afternoon. Heads up, Chris, Tasty, and Bet. Can't win!
