Congratulations, Chris, on your promotion! I had not heard that either. I hope you can find good people quickly to fill the other positions. You will be glad to get back to just doing one job!
Sending thoughts and prayers for all of you who are in the middle of winter storms or preparing for them. Stormy weather here as well but at least it is warm. We are in a tornado watch until 7:00 tonight.
After church we decided to go to our favorite barbecue place for lunch since we haven't been there in a while. Walked in to find a whole crowd of folks from our church there too! We ended up all sitting together and had a good time visiting. And of course we enjoyed the food! One of the things we like about going there is that they give you enough food for at least one, and sometimes two more, meals. We both got the pulled pork plate and I'm already planning to have barbecue sandwiches one night this week with all the meat we brought home. Good stuff.

On serious consideration, I think I'll stick with freezing rain over a tornado watch! That pulled pork plate sure sounds good. Since I'd probably have to skate to the nearest BBQ spot in town, I think I'll have to wait! LOL!

Congratulations on your promotion, Chris. Sounds like you are the heart and soul of that office. They are lucky to have you there.
It has been my usual Sunday with the papers, etc. Supper will be french bread pizza. Pretty soon it'll be time for the news, such as it is. Hugs to all.

Well just to let you all know I never even got dressed today. Neither did DH. We have stayed in while it has sleeted and snowed and then freezing rain and back to sleet and ice pellets! So we just stayed in our PJ's and did nothing! Well I did get DH partially packed for his cruise next week. Whew I am tired! LOL I made some chocolate pudding and we had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for supper! LOL How's that for a day!

Great news ! Helen's cat is back. Actually, she never left the rv. She got down behind the tv console area and no one ever saw her. Helen thought she heard a meow today, so she called the volunteers at the center and they all went over to help look for the cat and finally found her. There was just a small crack, but she got down in there then could not get back out. Helen is elated! I got a text on my phone that someone had sent out, so I ran over there. Just had to share the good news!

Chris you deserve it all and know you will put your heart into it like you always do to help the people. My DGD is taking week-end in hospital in psychosis dept. Would not want her job either. Takes special people to do it. Hope Dan has a wonderful vacation too bad you can't go. Take care! Marlene

Good evening friends. I'm stopping by while I wait for dinner to finish up. We will be having oven baked fried chicken, grilled asparagus, and a salad.
Had to make a quick run to Winn Dixie this morning as they never put an item I paid for into my bag yesterday. After a bike ride, DH wanted to go over to BJ's to fill up his truck. I tagged along as I needed to go in the store for some heavy duty foil. Once home I ironed clothes and then have been getting things ready for dinner.
Yesterday as you know we had to pick up a part(s) DH needs for work Monday and another place. We did that and then he mentioned there there happened to be a gun show in the same town. Funny how it just happened he had to go get this part and a gun show happened to be taking place the same weekend. We went and after two hours of looking at guns, it was time to move on. We tried to stop at a Farmers Market in the same town, but a train got stuck on the tracks right where we needed to go, so that messed up that. Next stop was Bass Pro, but DH made it a very quick stop, in and out in 10 minutes. From there we went to both get a hair cut, then on to Ollie's. Next a stop at the library, Winn Dixie, and finally we picked up dinner (soup and salad) at Chick-Fil-A. Last, I had to watch my hockey game. I slept like a rock last night with all the running around.
Chris, make me another one that didn't read about your work promotion---congratulations, well earned my friend. I am sorry however to see that you are still having problems with the floaters in the eye(s).
My heart goes out to all of you having bad weather. Although we were earlier under a tornado watch, it has since lifted and all that remains now is a high wind, rip tide, dangerous seas, and pollen alerts. The morning was lovely, the calm before the storm, then the wind picked up around 9AM and got to looking like everything not tied down was going to blow away. Wow, it was a show looking out my kitchen window watching items fly by! The rain that finally came around 3 was heavy, but nothing like the forecasters were predicting.
Don't know if anyone here shops at WalMarts, but I did hear that they had a recall on their brand of eggs in 9 states. Not sure of all the states, except I know two of them were Fl. and NJ.
Subbing tomorrow AM in the special ed-pre-k class that I love so much. Those little ones make me feel like my problems are nothing compared to what they have had to deal with in life.
Need to go now as I can smell the chicken in the oven and DH is saying it's ready. Good night. Waving to all!

Egg recall here in NY, too.
I'm so glad they found the cat. Surprising that it didn't raise more of a fuss in there. Poor thing must have been very hungry and thirsty. Eight lives to go!
They've extended the risk of freezing rain into tomorrow morning. The wind is beginning to howl and that advisory goes through all day tomorrow. I'm afraid to look out the window for fear my neighbor's tree will come down. I suppose it has been through so much this winter already that it's stronger than it looks!

So glad Helen's cat has been found. It may be a while before it goes exploring tight corners again 🙄
