Hi, I posted once or twice years ago on TOH and am so glad to find this forum! I live in Northwest Arkansas with my DH and six of our eight children (25,23,21,18,15,12,6,and3).We also have one grandbaby. The kids and I love to grow flowers and vegetables. I have always cooked from scratch but it is even more important now as our 6yr old is a chronically ill child with specific nutritional needs. I also homeschool my 6yrd old and 3yr old. I am also teaching my DD's to keep home and cook as the school they attend does not teach home economics at all(sigh). So sad that most of their friends think food only comes out of a box or from a drive thru window.
I have been married for 27 yrs to DH and although he grew up on an almond ranch he has a black thumb so we keep him away from the plants!LOL. I am a homemaker and since we live on one income I am always looking for new recipes and tips to try out on thr family.
I love to sew and knit and spending time with my family.

Welcome Lynn, you are going to like it here, pass on your thrifty tips, we all (I think) like to save instead of waste food or anything else...Quite a few of our friends are home schooling, even though I understand that's not for everyone ...

Welcome Lynn, it sounds like you're a very busy lady! Welcome to our new board.
I have a daughter who lives in NW Ark, also. She will be moving soon to be nearer to her daughter and Grands in Harrison Ark. Not too far from where she now lives in Rogers, Ark.
I hope to see you here often.

Hello from Mid Eastern Vermont. 63 years old and I am cfnierVT from the old TOHBB. I have been on TOH since it began. I was one of the first posters. My sister and I posted a lot. She was killed in 2001 and so toh became a real special place for me. I have been married to the love of my life for 36 years. I have had many jobs! I think I liked trying new things a lot. I was a teacher, Art and Special Ed, a Chef for 6 years, ran my own catering business with my sister, I have been a director of a Drug and alcohol rehab in Maui HI, I have been an interior decorator/buyer I have been a bartender and now an a social worker for the last 5 years, Hope to retire at it in a couple years. I have met many people from the TOH BB including one from Australia. I have gone there and stayed with her for 2 weeks in Geelong Victoria Aust. hope to go again next year. So far I have met more than 25 people from the old board. I hope I can meet more from here. I love to travel and have been all over the world. All but one continent, Antarctica! LOL Not sure I want to go there. I like to let people know where I am going and if it is close enough to be able to meet them. So if I ask you that let me know if you want to meet me! I will love it and I hope you will too. I love hot chocolates and you will see my continuing love for the "HC's" on my posts. Had one this morning made with Starbuck's chocolate! Was very good! Chris

I am so glad that many members from TOH site, have moved here.
Wishing all of you a warm welcome from Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, Canada. The first site I joined was Birds & Blooms. What fun we had posting and getting to know each other. Strange as it may seem, it's nice to make cyber friends. Hope all you new and old members post often.

Hi everyone! Not a lot to my story. I've been on the TOH and Birds and Blooms boards since 2005. Those boards were among the first I joined when I bought my first computer. I live in Ohio. My user name on those sites was, and still is, for a few more days anyway is LuvsDaisys or LazyDay.
I've sure done my share of gardening over the years. Both vegetables and flowers, just flowers now. Canning days are over for me. :)
I've been feeding the birds most of my adult life. I think I developed the love of bird watching from my mother. We have many, many, species here and it sure keeps me busy just feeding them, especially in the winter months. Hummingbirds are still very active here. It takes about 8 quarts of sugar water a day to keep them happy.
I haven't had time to see who created this board yet, but I want to say, Thank You! A job well done! You have made this site look so welcoming and friendly.

I didn't post much, but never felt unwelcome. I always posted in recipes/Cook's Corner. I have heard Kitchen chat could get kind of nasty at times, but I never really checked it out unless I was searching something and a thread with my topic came up. I hope you like it here. As you can see I'm new here too.
