Good Morning, its to be a rainy humid day, I have 61* and going to a high of 81*, not to be the temps but the humidity is going to be so high. I guess no plans for outside today unless it dries up some. After reading Sandy's post I decided I need to do some organizing of our booth stuff. Get some of it out the house and into the shelf room. I also need to start throwing things away, but of course Ray can't know, maybe I should start today seeing I will be in the house. Yesterday I pulled lots of crabgrass and other weeds, Gage mowed most of the lawn, I say most because the mower decided to quit. Ray and I took the big deck off and Ray decided to send it in. The big PTO belt is bad and we have done that twice before and not a fun job. I so happy we are taking it in Monday, just have to push it on the trailer, need to call for some help as we can't do it. I guessing by next year we will be getting a zero turn mower. We cut a lot of grass so I think it is almost wore out, I think this mower is 10 years or more old. So last night after coming in I turned the TV on and was going to watch a few shows I like and darn football was on. So few shows I like and football was on. Ray watched Crimal minds and I hate that show, I could of went downstairs or upstairs but I just played on the tablet.
Lair, that does sound like a lot of work, taking every thing out of a room to clean, but good. I do hope Tim feels better after getting the pump and tubes out. Angela, I do hope you feel better today.
Jan, Did you have fun last night on the cruise? Mary, I have a lot of hummers this year most then in years past. Glad everything is drying up. Are you to get rain today?
Mary in Michigan, Is the sale going on today? Not a good day with the rain, but you did have a beautiful day yesterday.
Have a great day

Good morning Carol, Dark, rainy morning here and I got rained out today regarding my sale.
I did have a really good day yesterday. Very comfortable under my trees and lots of friendly people too. Two daughters and a son in law kept me company and of course there were three people that I think just go to sales to have someone listen to their life story. LOL. That is ok as I am a good listener. I figure it this way, I already know what I know but I don't know what thay know so I keep quiet and learn!!
I don't know whether I will continue my sale next week or wait a week but today is a good day to play on my computer and eat the brownines that I made head of time to enjoy during the sale.
Guess I will go and post a picture or two this morning. You all have a good day. Mary

Morning. Cloudy right now, 67* expect hi of 82* and of course that H word has returned. We did get more rain overnight and they say we'll be getting more off and on today. Hubby and I spent all afternoon yesterday outside trying to finish the trimming that hadn't gotten done while it was so hot. Glad we did it yesterday because today doesn't sound like a day I want to be spending outside doing any of that. I also need to start throwing things away, but of course Ray can't know, maybe I should start today seeing I will be in the house. Tried to do a quote but looks like it didn't go in the quote box. Oh well, anyway Carol I 100% hear ya. :) I have to move hubby's stuff downstairs out of sight, let it sit for several months, then "sneak" it into the garbage. He's a packrat. His parent's were the same so I see where he gets it from. Hubby just bought a new riding lawn mower/tractor the beginning of summer and a couple days ago we got a card with a recall for it. Nothing, and I mean nothing, seems to be made to last. Oh well, they put his name on the list and will call when they will be coming to pick it up. At least we don't have to try and get it to them. Lair you make me tired just reading you're thinking of cleaning each room and moving everything out to clean..... MaryIMi I hope your sale went well yesterday and no rain for you today so you can sell the rest today. :) Got an e-mail yesterday the HP tower I had ordered is on the FedEx truck this morning and will be here sometime today. Now I just have to wait for ds to find the time to hook it up for me. The printer I have won't support 10 so I'll have to do a printer swap out. I found and bought one on sale awhile back because I knew this day would be coming. It's sitting in the other room waiting to get hooked up to the new PC. My muscles and joints are talking to me this morning and I'd sure love to just sit but I know that only makes it worse so guess I'd best get up and "move" some dust around here today and "dance" with the Hoover... Have a good day everyone.

Hi Carol and All, I'm up showered, hair done, Lucky taken care of and now I sit here with a cup of coffee. It's pissiling outside. Like we need anymore rain. I've emptied the basement dehumidifier at least 3 times. I sure hate to waste all that water by pouring it down the drain. I have no way of storing that much water and the plants outside definitely DON'T need it.
I did find a monarch caterpillar on my butterfly weed. I put one on there from a different plant that was about a 1/4" long, but this one is at least an inch.
No plans as of yet for the day; we'll probably do breakfast out. We sure could use some groceries. We're all out of breakfast items like sausage patties and eggs.
DS called on Thursday night and he has a whole list of days for me to babysit. I may or may not need to babysit the day after Labor Day. The babysitter's little guy from last year needs tubes in his ears. Julie's trying to switch day so she can be home that day. I said if it doesn't work out, call me. Their anniversary is Sept. 15. Bryan is going to take Julie out for the day, so I have to be down there on the 14th. The 17th he's taking his dad to a car race and Julie has to work, so guess who's babysitting. The babysitter is due Oct. 13, but they aren't going to let her go that far. I guess I'll be going down the end of Sept. to start babysitting. I'm beginning to think I should move in.
Carol, I haven't had hummers all summer. These two apparently are getting ready to migrate. The weather will dictate when they leave. I had 8 females one year and the last one left Nov. 1. I thought for sure they would have left by the end of September but they didn't. I hear you on the football. Jerry was watching it, so I just played on my phone and tablet. When he fell asleep I grabbed the remote.
Well, I'm going to do some more reading.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY COME AGAIN SOME OTHER DAY!

MaryinMi, you got that right! Problem is I'm scared the 'come back some other day' will be in December and it'll be snow. We still need to get that chunk of cement poured and with all this rain water it's NOT getting done. If the guy would have come back right away and got it poured a month ago I don't think we would have gotten water in the newer part of the basement. That big pile of dirt has shrunk at least a foot just from rain. Because it's still sitting there the water went around it and came right over by the house.
I just sit here and am thankful that we aren't worse. Some people I find it hard to feel sorry for. The neighbor across the street is at the top of his block and got his basement flooded again. He didn't even have his sump pump in the pit. WTH? His step dad fixed that place up really nice and had the pump in the pit. It needs to be cleaned out every so often. He'll spend all kinds of time washing his vintage car, family car, lawn mower, and quad every week, but he can't take the time to clean out the the sump pit and put the pump back in. His wife has been cleaning basement since this all happened Tuesday. I'm sure it was all HER stuff. I just shake my head......

Good Morning everyone, it is 63* and we are getting a little spitz now but we did get over an inch while I slept. We didn't get that soaking Mary got so we can use the inch. Speaking of sleeping, I did get a lot of it because I didn't wake up until 8 this morning. That's an hour and a half more than usual. Yesterday I got a lot of weeds pulled in the morning and then I came in the house, showered and had lunch. Spent the rest of the day watching TV and resting. I did get on the computer last night and sent some emails telling the major networks what I think of the habit of putting ball games on during prime time. If I wanted to watch those I would have turned to sports channels. Last night the same game was on 3 channels out of 40. To add insult to it, the late night shows were later because of 45 minutes devoted to Friday night lights. I know I am an old grump but with so many channels why do they always have to cancel my shows? Well enough complaining.
Today I don't have anything planned. No, I'm not cleaning my house. I said "I was thinking about doing a deep cleaning" but you should I have been thinking about for years. well, I am going to go and be back later. You all have a good day. Later.....

Oh Carol, I don't feel so bad, I see you couldn't get the quote box to work either. Maybe someone will take pity on us and tell us how to do it.
Just put 2 pans of brownies in the oven so will wait for them to be done before I "think" about--like Lair--doing something else.
MaryiMi oh no you certainly don't need any more rain. Sending "no-rain" thoughts your way.

Here I am yesterday holding down the fort with my oldest son in law Jerry. I have been his mother in law for 52 years!I swear that guy does not ever take a bad picture. I can run circles around him though.Haha.
He has always called me his favorite mother in law and I call him my favorite son in law but I call all four of them that. LOL. Shhh! They don't know that.
So here I am waving hello to all of you and there's Jerry with his beautiful smile.

I'm back from breakfast. I took my umbrella and jacket but I didn't need either one.
MaryinMi, It's nice to put a face with a name. That was a really nice picture and it looked like you were having beautiful weather. I may have to change my avatar for a little while just so people know who I am. I know the ones from Iowa know what I look like because I've met them all in person except Grace. My picture is from my DS's wedding in 2012.
As far as water goes, we're lucky. It runs out just as fast as it runs in and a dehumidifier gets the damp cement floors dried up. We have been told that this town sit on seven springs, so that's why we have a high water table under us. Spring Avenue is our main drag into town from the south. This is where all the horses were watered back in the old days. The old watering trough now resides down at the cemetery under the flag pole. In the old days there was a business that sold bait and kept a tank inside with minnows in it. Fresh water from the underground stream constantly ran into the tank via a pipe. The bank sits on this spot now and is in one of the lower areas of Main Street. It's probably 150' from the buildings that were getting their basements pumped out on Tuesday morning.

Welcome to a foggy--sometimes drippy--sometimes rainy morning. I was out early this morning & got groceries and back before 10:15. Got all the stuff put away & now per ambition clause--time to play.
Yes the cruise was enjoyable and the dinner afterward was delish. Dinner any all drinks were paid by Mark(the owner). I hadn't been on river cruise since 1988 when I worked for Roberts River Rides here in DBQ. The owners would take their employees & spouse or s/o on a prime rib cruise at the end of each season. The fall that they started the cruise line is West Virginia, they took a busload of employees out to South Charleston for a dinner cruise and some other sightseeing. The boat was set up for Christmas cruises and it was decorated beautifully. As usual Allen wouldn't go!!
Allen decided he would go to a machinery auction this morning--so he gone. So if he does buy something --well it won't be alive. :) I would guess he won't be selling steers again tomorrow because of almost 2 inches of rain this week. Next week there won't be a sale because of the holiday.
Not much else of interest here --so you all have a good weekend.
Jan
