Hi all,
Had such a good time reading all your posts. Very overcast and a gloomy day here. Not raining at the moment but that means the mosquitos are out and they are vicious! Our buckeye tree will be getting the nuts on it soon, means Fall for sure. Labor Day coming, wish it didn't mean the end of the summer. Seems we haven't had much of a summer, one that you could enjoy anyway. But everyone enjoy this weekend, weatherman says the humidity to come back starting tomorrow. YUK!!

Morning! Better hurry though or i will miss it again! As you've gathered I am slower than molasses! Look at what all some of you have done already. Hey, I am showered! Imagine that or not! LOL
Not terribly much going on here today. Being the good grndparents we are we have the gdaughter's pooch for the weekend. Not as good as you Mary who travels so far to sit with the wee one! 😊 Now, that's a good grandma! My kids are gone to Fargo, ND for a family shopping trip. Son in law arrived from Switzerland for his rotation at home & so, they picked him up & headed across the border. He'll be jet lagged as usual but he's one of those that can sleep anywhere. The girls will shop while he lounges somewhere.
Thanks for sharing your picture, MaryinMichigan. Looks like a fun time at your sale with your sil. Mary (bywatcher) I do like your profile picture. I do need to fix mine. If only I didn't always take such ghastly pictures! 😊
Well, best not bore you to tears with my non-news. Really, just wanted to say "hi" & two hundred words later I'll say "bye"!😊

hello to all not too often we add a second page. It is finally clearing off here foggy and hazy all morning and not much rain to speak of last nite. we're pretty saturated as we have been all summer. everything is growing that possibly can grow. I dug all my bulbs yesterday except the pineapple lilies so will wait for them a couple weeks. want to get the yard cleaned up so I don't have to do it next month for my surgery - cataract. I know they say you can do anything you want. gs came home from college at UNI for the weekend. he's kind of a homer guy so know he likes being back I know his parents are too.. I remember those days too, I always did there laundry... read today on internet that if you paid a person that stays at home for the work they do they would have a salary of 93,000 dollars a year.for all the work they do. ha! makes me feel like I didn't waste my life. Oh! sunshine now, much cooler today and good ...had an encounter with the ground hog yesterday, no luck tho. he got under a building and wouldn't come out.....maybe next time. will have to look for a pic on my avatar, I like to see both Mary's pics and yes its nice to see the person that's on here... take care all and have a good weekend.

I too like to put a face with the person and I like to know which state you all live in too.
It is brightening up out there now. I did not open up my ale. Haha. I meant my sale. No ale here. :)
it is way too late in the day. So I will continue it another time.

Good Saturday afternoon to everyone. Thought I would join in the conversation as it is always fun to read everyone's post's. I did get a meatloaf made and some brownies and that is it for today. I can't do to much or my back starts screaming at me. I would have liked to have had the energy to make a pan of my homemade cheesy scalloped potatoes, but it won't happen today. I hope you all are having a good day.

Woke up to the sound of rain this morning. Fed number one cat and watched the loud squabble between two Blue Jays and an Eastern Kingbird over who was going to claim the birdbath. I'd have bet on the Kingbird, but the Jays finally declared victory.
My SIL brought me some fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and home canned dill pickles this morning, so I took her and her DH out to lunch. Can I hope more tomatoes will fall off her plants and into my kitchen? From there stopped at the grocery store and saw some cantaloupes that were gigantic. Brought a couple home with the rest of the stuff and will hope they are good. I don't have good luck with oversized fruit.
Everybody have a great weekend.

I went to Walmart and I had some bulbs that magically got into my cart with a tiny bit of help from me. LOL I have regular allium, but this is the first time I've seen the bulbs for the Allium Giganteum. I saw how they decorated the dried flowers for the flower garden down at the Des Moines Botanical Garden. I thought maybe I could do the same. At $3.92/bulb I held myself to just 2. They get 50"-60" tall. I also found plum colored Fritillaria Persica. I have no idea what they are but I liked them. They were the same price, so I only got 2 of those also. They get 24" to 36" tall. Now to figure out where I can plant these. Allium Giganteum Fritillaria Persica

Those will look lovely wherever you put them, Mary. Will you need to plant the Allium in a more sheltered area since they are so tall? I would think the wind might play havoc with them.
A quick question, how did you get your words to link to the site? I know how to do usually but I don't see the icon on the toolbar. Maybe I'll need to do more searching. Thanks.
