Wow, big improvement with the bushes gone. Looks really nice. You have a beautiful yard.

Love those hosta. Any kind. The new bed is really pretty. Keep an eye out for the return of the yews. I did what you all have done several years ago to yews. The following season sprouts returned. Had to move new plants, strap old yews & hook to trailer hitch on car & pull them out. Man what big roots. Put new plants back & things went well for couple seasons. Then sprouts started again, well I wasn't going to move things, just started watching for new sprouts & pulling them out. Took 2 seasons, but no more sprouts. One time I couldn't get a large root out & decided to sprinkle salt on what was left of root. Couple weeks it was dead & came out of the ground real easy. Good luck. Happy Gardening, nanatnzone6

Nice additional pic, Charlene! It will be fun for you and Larry to fill in all the spaces, or will you try to keep it more open now? i know you wont have a problem filling it all in! lol! I kind of like nicely mulched open spaces.
