I just buy the yeast at Sam's but am sure the quick rise will be fine. I only buy 2% milk so you are good to go. With your yeast, I just let the dough rise to the top of the pan but I do use the 8x4"pans.

Hello again,
Bet, When we left Lake George on Thursday it was nice and cool that morning.
Thanks for the ride Betsy! I know you would take me if we were close by.
Lori, I'm sweating thinking about your friends DD in long sleeves. But best to be safe from the virus.
Pippin, The English muffin bread sounds good. I never make homemade bread as I am intimidated by yeast. I don't make pie crust either. I know that if I kept practicing I would get it but I just don't :| .
Sara, San Diego might be a good place for you to live too lol. I don't like extreme heat or bitter cold weather but I do like snow.
The mechanic called and I need a transmission ??? . DH is dealing with him and the cost. I wish I could get a new car but it's not happening right now. I will pick up a rental car tomorrow.
Still never got to the store so I will place a small order for Chinese food tonight.
Nancy

Hi all! Thanks for the recipe, Pippin. I have it copied and will try to modify it for the bread machine! Ha! Wonder who I am trying to fool! LOL Modifying recipes isn't really my thing but always up for a try.
Ouch, Nancy! A new transmission is likely rather spendy. Hope your husband can work out a reasonable deal. Can't be without a vehicle.
Sara, sure hope fall isn't too quick in arriving. I don't mind fall but it is the season that comes after that is scary! Up here in the North country it can be downright chilly!
Marlene, sorry your foot is acting up. You are right it might be the bunion pad. It could be enough to make the boot fit just a bit differently. Rest it up for awhile. You do way too much in a day, that's a given.
Enjoy your afternoon.

Good evening Friends. I am so sad today as we lost a wonderful Aunt. She was just shy of 100! She has been so sharp for so long that it seems strange she would go so quickly. Went into the hospital this morning not feeling good and passed at 1:20pm. Glad she did not suffer long though. So we will be going to PA later this week I think. Chris

Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt's passing. You have my sympathy. She sounded like a wonderful woman. Cherish all those memories.
The day was overcast but the temperature was wonderful. But it was a wonderful 82 degrees. I think everyone was in the mood to cook and bake. I see almost everyone had their ovens on today.
My first tomato should be ripe enough to pick tomorrow. I can't wait. If watching it could make it ripen it should have been ready this weekend. I made a tray of Jake's tomato raisins with the grape tomatoes that all decided to come in at once. I'll probably make another tray tomorrow.
I made fried chicken, corn on the cob, and broccoli for dinner.

The English muffin bread is so easy...just mixing in all the dry ingredients well...I put the dough on my bread board, cut it in half, , just shape it into the pans a bit, let rise and bake. Would take you longer to wash the parts of your bread pan in the bread machine, Angela! Are there smiley faces on here?

Tasty, can you post the recipe for the cauliflower cakes? This is what I have in my recipe files Bet. Guess I saw the idea and worked from that :-/ Cauliflower cakes - based on internet recipes 1/2 cauliflower, cooked, well-drained cooled and mashed I used potato parsnip mixfinely grated cheese onion powder 1 beaten egg flour/breadcrumbs to mix Bake or fry. I sprayed the pan, baked for 10-15 minutes and turned for another 10 minutes. They browned nicelyMore of an idea than a recipe. I don't see the mashed cauliflower on its own with egg and cheese forming cakes well so I think roughly equal quantities of cauliflower and potato would work well. I know when I did them before the mix also had some parsnip because that is what I had. Onion powder and whatever seasoning float your boat, so to speak.
I am planning on making them one day this week for sure and will pay more attention to what I put in them.

Chris - I'm so sorry to read about your aunt. What a great age to live to if health is on your side.
Ouch, Nancy, that does sound like a pricey fix but sometimes these things just have to be done.
My plans to do the pork roast have been put on hold until tomorrow. There would have been time to get it done but we also have raspberries that I wanted to get used up - didn't want to get into freezing them just yet. So I pulled a chicken and vegetable soup from the freezer and we'll have a raspberry crumble with some ice cream.
I'll be back later.

Tasty and Pippin thanks for the recipes. I will copy them to my recipe collection on my computer and will also get them transferred to August recipe collection here.

We had Salisbury steak, baked potatoes, and green beans for supper. Hubby had his ice cream sandwich for dessert and I'll have a bowl of black cherry ice cream later.
Chris, I am so sorry to read about your aunt. You have my condolences.

You are likely right, Pippin! :) Smiley faces at the right end of toolbar or if like me on IPad, I use those.🤓👍

Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. I know you are grateful she didn't have to go through a long, drawn-out time of suffering, but it's also hard to have that come so unexpectedly. There's just no easy way to lose someone you love. (((hugs)))
Made a quick stop at Publix on my way home and then fixed sloppy joes and tater tots when I got home. After a very busy Monday, I'm ready to sit down!
