Good morning friends.
Bet, Thanks so much for setting up the Cook's Crock for us. It is much appreciated.
We had rain last night but today will be hot and humid.
I really need to go grocery shopping and I'm hoping that DH will have time to work on the car today and see what the issue is. If not, I will see if one of my friends are going food shopping and join them.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good morning Nancy. It sure isn't warm here today. Only 54 this morning and will be in the 40's tonight. Typical weather for this time of year in the mountains. Hot one day and freezing the next. Nothing much for me except work today.
I am thinking tonight's dinner will be hot meatloaf sandwich and sliced fresh tomato with basil oil from the garden.
Have a great day.

Good morning friends.
What a gorgeous morning we have. It was only in the 50s when we got up but should be around 70 this afternoon :) .
Nancy, I hope the car is a quick fix. Nothing worse than knowing something is not right u deer that **** hood.
I have a pork roast ready to cook for tonight. Not sure yet what we'll have with it but maybe cauliflower cakes.
I'm heading out to find, I hope, something to wear to the wedding next month. So far, I have had no success so wish me luck.
Have a marvelous Monday.

Just a quick hello. I think we are going into Charlottetown today. It's sunny now but we have a chance of rain this afternoon. We'll be fairly close to home so if it rains we can get back here soon. Not sure about meal plans for the day.
I have some nice photos but since DH only posts them from the camera on to facebook, not on a place like photo bucket, I have not figured out how to transfer them yet.
Have a nice day!

Hello friends. While most of you seem to be having lovely "cool" weather this morning, it's already a hot one here. Our low was 79*, early this morning, and now we are a steamy 86*.
After I do some ironing today, I will make a batch of Veggie Chili. I'll place in individual containers, freeze, and give to DD this coming weekend when we see her. Her DH will be leaving Thursday, due to work, for two weeks--she tends to not cook much while he is gone, so this way I know there is something she can defrost and just reheat for a quick, healthy meal.
In Miami-Dade County, friends had their 2nd grade DD starting back to school today. Wish you could have seen the picture they sent of her dressed in a long sleeve shirt and long pants, the so-called "uniform" to hopefully prevent Zika virus carrying mosquitos from biting. The ride to and from school is going to be miserable with the shirt and pants, but thank goodness for A/C in the schools! Her parents had just sprayed her down from head to toe with bug spray and the poor thing wasn't too happy. Sadly, it's the new way of life in that area and I just heard on the news this morning that the Health Dept. feels Zika will be around for another 1--2 years. Very scary!!
Dinner will be Lettuce Wrapped Turkey Tacos. Since I got the meat ready yesterday, this will be easy to assemble this evening after returning from shopping for new flooring.
Take care and have a nice day! Lori

Good morning all,
I have everyone up and out this morning. DD started a new teaching job at a charter school today. She will be a long term sub while a teacher is on leave. Hopefully, a class room will open up soon so she gets her own class. This school is a charter school.
Dinner will be gyros, corn and salad. I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and ours didn't have scallion pancakes. It was pretty busy though so perhaps they were just out. Will try again.
Nancy, I would be happy to take you grocery shopping if we lived close by. Hope your car gets fixed soon.
Love our new cooking area!
Have a great day.
Betsy

Dishes are all done and time to sit awhile. Made Chicken Enchiladas, New squash, zucchini baked dish and left over cheese potatoes. Strawberry/Lemon dessert. Now it is sit time for me. No more cooking today!
This 'ol foot is sure hurting in the boot today, think will take it off and see if I can make it more comfortable. I have a bad bunion on that foot so got a pad for it today. That might be what is hurtin'.
Took Marge some tomatoes, and neighbor Sherri came over and got some too. Thanks to Chuck. He has 6 plants and picked 100 tomatoes yesterday. He gives me the summer squash, Sweet corn and tomatoes.
Hope you all have a nice day. Marlene

Just figured it out, I think but will leave this recipe here. Good Monday afternoon to everyone. It is a beautiful weather day here again today, nice and cool this morning and warming up this afternoon with lots of sunshine. I have been trying to talk myself into making a meatloaf but so far it isn't happening. Maybe I will get a spurt of energy and get it done yet today. It looks like we might have an early fall as some of the leaves are starting to turn already. I sure hope not as it will make the winter too long. I have said before and will say again-- I don't like really hot, humid weather and I don't like cold, ice and snowy weather. Guess I better move to Hawaii---lol. I hope everyone is having a good day. Pippin what kind of yeast do you use--is it the quick rise? Is it ok to use 2% milk in this recipe? I really want to try this as it sounds so easy. Thanks for the recipe. Sara
