Good morning everyone. It is 31º this morning with frost on the grass and rooftops. Our high for the day is only 44º, so not a very nice Spring day. Supposedly, it's not going to be as windy today as it was yesterday.
Yesterday most of my day was spent doing household chores other than helping Phyllis for a couple of hours. Her friend is supposed to be coming today to stay a week and that is good for both me and Phyllis.
A bachelor friend of mine brought me a roast beef and asked if I could make it for dinner tomorrow for him, my brothers, Curt and Lynn and another bachelor friend. I have had these guys for meals before and they are easy to please, so I told him I would. I may need to get a few groceries to round out the meal, but I have most of the stuff on hand.
Mary Marnee...Prayers have been said for Shar. Is this the sister that lives with you? I'm glad her daughter decided to move forward on the situation rather than waiting.
Karen....Good news that you can get assistance with the lift recliner.
Waving at everyone else and wishing all a great Saturday. Charlene

Good morning. A cool start again, with a chance of rain this morning. We've had enough rain that the golf course opening has been delayed again - this time they're saying maybe Monday. Hopefully we have a few dry days coming. My early morning walking is done, the sheets are almost ready to go back on the bed and I've had breakfast. Now it's on to regular Saturday morning chores. Have a good weekend.

Good morning. I finally have some sunshine! Hopefully it dries the lawn so I can mow later. In the mean time I will clean up another garden and see if I can trim my roses. I went to do a few days ago and stuck my foot in the garden and it sunk about 3" in mud. I quick hopped out and didn't get stuck or muddy. I must of looked pretty funny.
Yesterday I did a few things outside when it wasn't raining. Pulled flowering weeds in the driveway. I'm going to have to spray the driveway with weed killer I don't want to become a weed patch like before. I keep walking around the big garden and trying to decide where I'm going to plant everything. I'm rearranging the rose garden so I will have some room out there also.
Enjoy the day!

Yesterday's lunch with my brother and two sisters was wonderful. I am so glad we can get together as a family. Today a little cleaning and this afternoon granddaughter and daughter have asked me to join them on a shopping trip to a city 90 miles away. There is a crafts direct store that is closing. I will probably do a lot of sitting while they shop and buy lunch for all but I am honored and pleased they asked me along. "The longing to create finds its roots in the essence of human existence." Good morning. 28, windy and grey now but shows the sun coming out later. High says 45. Yesterday we never even made it to 40 and had snow showers on and off. Dds game was postponed as was todays tournament with the cold start to the day and everything being so wet. Also our pitcher had her appendix out yesterday so thats rough for us. Now we have a 9th grader who will be pitching and back up is an 8th grader. Ugh!
Yesterday I spent the majority of the day painting. I had to run to town mid day for more paint. It was 8:30 before I sat down last night. Dh got home about 10:45. Was so nice to have him home. He just headed out to his reffing class. I will paint again today. Takes so much time but what is done looks really good.
Sandy-Gotta love mud season. Lol
Marlene-Glad you had a nice lunch with your sibs!
Mary-Prayers for your dsis and hope she can get in quickly.
I guess I better water plants and get to work. Have a great day.

Good morning. It's already 73 and not even 9am. Could reach 90 again but chance of rain later. Tomorrow it will cool down to 60s, with rain, for 2 days before warming back up. The main things I have to do today are clean the litter boxes that didn't get done yesterday, and sweep and mop. It's time for a thorough floor cleaning. That never lasts long though. Other than that I need to take the trash. Right now I'm just trying to finish my coffee without any more interruptions.
Charlene, I'm sure you will enjoy your break from helping Phyllis next week. What will you do with all that free time? Hopefully her friend won't need you for anything. How nice of you to prepare a meal for the bachelors.
Tasty, hope the course dries out soon.
Sandy, I've been trying to decide about planting as well, only with my vegetables. I was going to put them in pots but decided against that so will actually have to put them in the flower beds in front of the house that I have been weeding. I have more liriope to dig so I'll have a larger area for squash. It's going to look strange but at this point I don't care. Hopefully I'll get a few vegetables.
Marlene, it's nice that you can get together with your siblings. I've only done that after funerals and since our parents are gone that will never happen again. We are too scattered. I only have one brother about 30 minutes away and the other 2 are in different states.
Mary, adding my prayers for your sister.
Coffee is almost cold so let me finish and get busy.

Good morning, its 50° headed to an expected high of 68°. We are just starting to see some daylight. Clouds are expected to move in around mid-day with light rain showers this afternoon.
I started a load of laundry and may do a little house cleaning.
Charlene, yes, my sister Shar lives with me, she moved here after her hubby passed away. Her daughter and her family moved back here around 10 years ago and live less than a half hour from us. As you may know her daughter is a doctor, she is not a gastroenterologist but has friends that are, and that is helpful.
Sis was able to see the doctor at the hospital yesterday around 4:30 PM. The doctor ordered labs and a cat scan and sis had that scan around 6:45 PM and got the results a little after 8 PM.
They believe a stone has formed in the bile duct and causing a blockage. So, she needs a special MRI to look for that. That MRI can’t happen until this morning so they admitted her for overnight. Overall, that’s good news and once she has the MRI, they will know what to do next.
Thank you everyone for your prayers.
Karen, it’s great to hear you can get some assistance with the lift recliner.
Sandy, glad you were able work outside, part of my yard needs spraying but with having a dog I may just let that go for now.
Marlene, glad you had a wonderful lunch with family. Wish I could get together with mine but several of my brothers and sisters live in other states.
Wow Melissa you are doing a lot of painting.
Have a great day everyone.

The app on my laptop is telling me it is partly sunny. I guess that is technically true since the sun is here for a while before hiding behind the clouds and then coming back out. We're supposed to be colder today than yesterday. Not a forecast that is terribly appealing. Having so many 70s early on spoiled us. The highs in the 50s are going to feel harsh. I got up fairly early this morning to get working on the house so it looks better when the neighbor is here than it did when our nephew and niece came last night. That was slightly embarrassing, but I do what I can when I can how I can. Much to my surprise and delight, DH was already working on the dishes before I got up. He hasn't done his "usual chore" of dishes since before his second fall. As I suspected, it was because he was afraid of falling. With his therapy, he says he feels stronger and more secure. He also vacuumed while I held the broken lift chair back so it could be vacuumed under. I had no idea how often he missed his mouth when eating in that chair. LOL! Pretty sure he was surprised also. Turns out that we make a pretty decent team. Who knew? The rest of the day is going to be taking it easy, I think. I probably will need to go outside and take a look at the plants DN dug up last night. After they get over their shock, I plan to ship them to DSon's DMIL. Charlene, those fellas are so blessed to have you in their lives. I don't know how the beef prices are in your neck of the woods, but here beef roasts are expensive. I rarely get them anymore because of that. The guys will be eating well for sure! I'm very happy that you will have some time for you with Phyllis having someone else to step in for a while. Caregiving is harder than people realize, isn't it? Whatever you are getting paid, I'm dang sure it ain't enough. Gosh, Tasty, I hope the golf course can get opened on Monday. The timing of rain can sometimes really goof things up. Yikes on stepping in 3" of mud, Sandy! I'm surprised you weren't covered in mud after that. Good for you. Isn't garden planning fun? Marlene, I'm glad to hear you are being able to enjoy your family so much. They are treasures, aren't they? It is good to hear, Melissa, that your DH arrived home safely. I can imagine how glad you both were for that to be the case. Were you able to enjoy your coffee without more interruptions, Leslie? Mary M., I am super thankful to learn about part of the chair being paid for by insurance. Prayers that the MRI shows an easy fix for your DSis. Well, I suppose I better see what I can get into around here before I decide I got up too early today and need a nap. Chances are high that I will be watering and moving my seedlings around. I am finding it surprising how much of a difference these lights are making for them. I thought my gardening world had collapsed when the other bulbs died and I couldn't replace them with the same thing. I am much happier with these results. I also don't have to worry about the bulbs getting so hot that they would burn the leaves should they get too close. Anyway ... Have a sensational Saturday!

Taking a lunch break. I'm working inside but sweating more than I would outside I think. Sweeping, moving furniture that hasn't been moved in forever, mopping, including some on hands and knees with a sponge. Have to stop to pick up what I'm sweeping and clean the cat hair off of the broom every few minutes. This may take a few more hours and that will include dumping the litter boxes and cleaning them and the mat underneath now. I've washed the new mat, along with some rugs and they are over the deck railing to dry. I'll put the new one under the boxes when it's dry. It got dirty just laying out on the den floor to flatten since it was folded. After I'm done I'll take a bath and take the trash.

Good afternoon. I am so sick of listening to my generator run again. We had a quick storm pass through with some pretty good winds and hard rain for about 15 minutes. This is getting expensive. Just paid my propane bill for the generator for the past month or so and it was $150. That is on top of a $125 electric bill for about the same time period. It was only off an hour this time. Yesterday was a long work day but it went well. I didn't get to the last store however. It was 4 o'clock when I drove by the last store and I just waved as I went buy. I just couldn't face another 1 1/2 hour more of work with still 20 minute dive to get home. It was another 8 hour day with the driving. There for I started my long weekend a little late today. Had to go to the store I didn't do yesterday. As usual Murphy's Law. This town has the worst cell service. I had none. Fortunately the 2 jobs I had there I have done many times so know what to do. Lots of pictures to remember but I just took them on my phone and when I got home and had service had to fill out all of the reports. Not fun. I am finally having my Jambalaya for dinner tonight. I decided to create a recipe from a partial memory of one I used to make years ago and lost the recipe. I know I used some different ingredients that I had never heard of at that time but is sure tastes good. That is about all I have done since I got home except some research looking for information on my 4 wheeler that I started before I left for work this morning. Finally found a service manual for it so DS can look at that and maybe figure out how to fix the problem. Have also reading a number of forums on the subject. Haven't touched my to do list today. Got 3 more days before I have to go back to work. Still to wet to go outside and do anything. It has been partly sunny but the wind is still cold. Not to be real warm for the next 3 days and not a lot of sun but Wednesday the rain moves back in.
Charlene, nice of you to good dinner for your friend and brothers. Are they coming to your house to eat? Nice that you have a little break for tending to Phyllis' needs.
Sandy, I know about stepping into the mud this time of year. I have done it in the big vegetable garden more than once just after the frost goes out. It hasn't even been weather here to walk around much.
Marlene, glad you lunch with your siblings went well. I miss seeing my brother. Have fun shopping with daughter and granddaughter.
Melissa, I am sure you are happy to have DH home safe and sound. To bad the softball was cancelled but a bit chilly definitely. Painting sounds like it is going well.
Leslie, you certainly be busy cleaning today. I should be thinking about finding some time to start so serious deep cleaning around here. You call down in the 60's cool and about now I would think I was in heaven. It if 44° here right now and with the wind it feels even cooler.
Marnee, glad you sister is getting some answers. I am sure it is a relief to you also.
Karen, glad you nephew and niece were able to get things done for you today. Any luck on fixing the chair? Great news that you can get help with buying a new one.
Carol, hope you and your friend as a good time on your outing. Your temperatures sound about like mine. Come on Spring.
Enjoy your evening.

A quick good evening from here. I'm whipped and it is just suppertime. It's been a long day.
The neighbor was able to fix the chair - sort of. The chair does now go up and down, but snails go faster than this chair moves. It goes up slightly faster than it goes down, but down is the problem. If DH gets stuck in the reclined position and needs to get up quickly for the bathroom, that ain't happening with this chair. That sucks. BUT the first neighbor, the one who got DH up out of the chair when it died on him, found a chair on Facebook Marketplace that might be available in our community for $150. I messaged them to see if it is still available. If so, I will have someone go with me to take a look at it. If it works well enough, we may have a winner for a fraction of the price of a new chair. I guess fingers crossed?
Best go see about supper for DH. He's being pretty patient. I hope the day has been good to everyone.

Update on Shar: After her cat scan last night she then had a special MRI to look for any stones in the bile duct causing any blockage. She had a procedure this morning and they removed two stones. Around 11:30 A.M. Shar was back in her room and feeling fine. Shar returned home around 4 PM. Today without any pain. She now seems to be doing fine and it’s good to see her without pain. God is good.
