Good morning! It's clear and 37°. It was nice sleeping last night with one window opened just a bit. Scotch egg with grains and a salad was a great Sunday supper. Tonight we are having wursts, beans, brown bread and slaw. Might be eating a little later. Someone is visiting to look at some of the furniture I'm selling. They will be looking and, if buying, they will be picking it up next month after we move. Hope they want lots!!! Will go to the senior center for walkaerobics and Curtis. No other big plans. Bill is going to get the taxes done later this afternoon. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- I have never had Scotch Eggs but every time I see them I think I need to make them as they look so good. I hope that person buys a lot from you and helps you out. I make "shake and bake" chicken legs last night. Tasted good. I forget who I got the recipe from for making the coating but thanks to who ever it was. LOL
No real plans for today. We will have 97.8% eclipse so we are going to Brian's house to view it. No traffic for us. I got some Oreos and will take off the top cookie and put them back on to the stages of the eclipse and that is my "snack" contribution to this! LOL We will have beautiful weather for the viewing. DGS is excited so most of my enjoyment will be watching him.
Oatmeal for breakfast, tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch and supper will be the chicken legs we didn't eat last night with fried potatoes and grilled carrots.

Hello and good morning to all! Today our local news mentioned that this is National Egg Salad Week and today is National Empanada Day.
The Kickin' Peach Chicken we grilled yesterday for dinner was good. The glaze was especially tasty so we called it a keeper. I will post the recipe after I am done posting here.
Ann, your talk of Scotch Eggs has me wondering why I've not made them in many years. We like them so I think I'll be making them in the near future.
Chris, I hope you and your family have a good time this afternoon with Brian and family viewing the eclipse. Your Oreo cookie snack sounds like a great teaching tool I would have loved using with my students.
Elza, congratulations on the win of your Lady Gamecocks!
Need to get going here this morning, so I'll try to get back here later. Lori

Good morning. I have been waiting 60 years for today. A high school science teacher showed us the schedule of the complete eclipses and I noticed that one was on my birthday. Only I had to wait a long time. And here it is. The Sun and Moon are putting on a display for my birthday. Many of our schools are releasing early or entirely having the day off to celebrate. It is a memorable thing for them and I'm glad they're being given a chance to experience it.
Aren't in totality here -- only 99.4%. Good enough for me! I will be poking a hole in a card and holding it above a white sheet of paper to watch it. Not in the mood to buy glasses!
Sad to say that Homeland Security is on high alert here too in case of some kind of terrorist activity. What a shame!
My nephew called from Florida to bring me up on family activities. His youngest girl has just been certified as a professional firefighter and EMT at the Palm Bay Fire Department. I have to laugh because I find that very impressive but he seems to get the biggest kick out of the fact that she drives the big rig with the ladders. Not many women in Florida apparently work with the fire departments. Good on her!
I haven't decided what to do today I was supposed to get my filing cabinet last Saturday and it is on indefinite delay. I expect some of this may be coming from slow downs because of the bridge collapse. I'm going to check a few other places to see if they have something in stock that I can get immediately.
Other than that, just waiting until the sun does its thing. We are supposed to have very high clouds that should make it look a little hazy but still visible. Talk to you later.
Birdy

G'Day Mates1 A gorgeous, CLOUDLESS day for the eclipse. We are in the path of totality. However, it has been going on for so long on the news and discussions that I feel like it has already occurred. We will watch it from the middle of the lake. The kids next door have already put the boat in the water. They have the day off from school.
Birdy, I have been happy to see you are posting! Here, security is on high alert also. Sad, isn't it? Bird wise, we have had our Bald Eagles visiting quite a bit. I was told that a lake has to reach a specific age for them to visit.... Our bluebirds are in residence and we are feeding them their worms. Everybody else is established. There is a scrub pine that we left to grow outside an upstairs bathroom when we discovered a few years ago that the birds were nesting in it, so we couldn't cut it down. Now, we call it "the apartment complex" as there are so many birds nesting in it. Love it!
Beginning the first of next month we will be on high alert for the entire month...the Indy 500.
Ann, I would really be freaking out with the move so close. We have been in this house for 40 years and I can't imagine downsizing!
Lori, any trips planned for Michigan?
I need to trim Jelly Bean's face today along with getting at least something else done so I will talk to you later. I think the neighbors are planning on a picnic of sorts after the eclipse, so I need to see what they want me to make/bring.

Good morning. Even though was only 55º it felt nice since there is no wind.....yet. Mary and her two were later today but Mandy sat waiting for them like she knew they would be there. Boy were those three excited to see each other. It's really funny. It gives me a person to talk to as well. I like Mary, she is so funny.
After the painting I moved the two chairs around. I had decided to sit in the recliner that Mark had to have and never sat in. Well after a few days it really started to hurt my neck and back. It's nice and soft but no support and that is what this old body needs. So today I will swap places with the chairs and I'll go back to my power lift recliner (it is really only usable in one spot). To some people it is hard but to me it is supportive. I just hope I can get them to move without hurting myself. Last time it was so much easier because of how they were positioned. Not the case this time. The felt slides are starting to come off and I'm not up to fixing that right now. I can only do so much in a day. I hope it all goes well.
Another trip to Fry's for more butter and a stop at the 99¢store for another jug of Tide. I will always need both items. I just hope I can wrangle more room out of the big freezer. It's pretty full with cookies and food for the summer.
In the afternoon I have no plans but to sit and rest until I take Mandy for a walk. Lunch I plan on having the left over mac and cheese and sliced tomato, supper I'll give the meatballs another try. I just couldn't eat them yesterday.
Ann, that is too cold for me to have an open window. But I'm happy that you slept well.
Chris the eclipse is 67% here, just another day of the week to me. hehe Your meals sound good to me. :)
Lori, an egg salad sandwich sounds good to me. Have a nice day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIRDY!!!!!! Enjoy the birthday eclipse. :)
Melody, you have great plans to watch the eclipse. I'm sure you will enjoy it all. Hi to Jelly bean. :)
Time for me to ge rolling here. Happy Monday to all.

Good afternoon all. Had one of those mornings where the time flew by but I did get some granola made and a batch of Elza's chocolate chip oatmeal muffins. I have made them before and we really like them. With oatmeal in them I can pretend they're healthy 😃. Last night when I went to make supper, quiche, I couldn't find any of the dishes I normally use for quiche. Oops! I know exactly where they were up until the last week of January when we had to empty the storage/laundry room so the new cupboards could be put in. I couldn't find them, hubby looked and didn't find them so instead we used the bacon that was going to go in the quiche and instead had bacon on a bun!! We'll find them somewhere, sometime. . . . Tonight, I'm thinking it will be chicken and salad. We are in the path of totality for the eclipse but the sun has disappeared so I'm not hopeful for 3.22 this afternoon. What will be, will be.
Have a marvelous Monday

Despite 100% totality, it really was a big bust here. The clouds rolled in just at the wrong time. What really amazed me was just how quickly it got light again!
