Oh, Tasty! I'm sorry that happened to you. It was really pretty nifty. The totality was, I think, a shake over three minutes. We are brightening up considerably right now and the birds are singing again. It was strange listening to the night birds in the middle of the day...then they were silent.

We went outside for the eclipse. There were some clouds but we saw most of it.
Almost at totality, I heard a barred owl calling in the woods across from us! So naturally, being a crazy birder, I hooted back at him. They say, "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?" If you hoot in that rythmn, they will often answer back. The people around me thought I had lost it until they heard the return call. It sure made a great memory for all of us.

We got nothing, saw nothing here---no change in temperature, not even a dull or cloudy sky---bright sunshine. A French scientist in the area was just on the local afternoon news and he described it, for our city, as a petite (smaller than small) croissant pastry. LOL! For those of you that got to experience it, good for you, very happy that you got to take part of something so special!
DH stopped after work today and picked up some more propane. We will grill Italian sausages to have along with the leftover Primavera Pasta from Saturday. Lori

Good Afternoon! They have been warning us for a week that we would probably have cloudy skies today and we sure did. We were supposed to have about 94% of the eclipse here, but it has been darker off and on all day than during the supposed 94% totality! It is still drizzling out there. I managed to get to town and run errands this morning while it was dry.
We are having the sloppy joes that we did not eat a couple days ago. I needed a few items from one of the stores that I usually do not go to and lucky me-I found a strawberry rhubarb pie! It was frozen, and I just finished baking it.
Lori, we won't be celebrating either of the food holidays here.
No plans for the rest of today except baking 3 pans of chocolate/cream cheese brownies for tomorrow.
Waving to all!

We have been under a tornado watch. Now there is a tornado warning in the county just to the west of us. Nothing for our county-yet anyway.
update at 5:20-all is clear
