Good morning! It's 35° and cloudy. According to forecasters the storm will hang around offshore through Sunday giving us cloudy weather. Right now it's still snowing lightly. It should be clear for the eclipse. BTW Here's a link from our local news station WCVB for apps you can use to watch the eclipse. www.wcvb.com/article/free-apps-watch-solar-eclipse-live/60399978Supper last night was good. I got mini-gnocchi in the pasta aisle, cooked them, and sautéed them to lightly crisp...good! I just served the steamed cauliflower with butter, salt & pepper. Tonight we are having more meat pie and a new recipe for cabbage salad from Eating Well. It has a lemon Dijon dressing that sounded good! Maybe you will see on the news about a tragic event that happened in Derry, NH. That is the sister city to Londonderry so close to The Baldwin. A tree came crashing down onto a household propane tank causing the house to explode into a fire that killed a grandmother and severely burned her 11 year old granddaughter. House was destroyed. Besides grocery shopping, I have no plans. Next week we have an antique dealer and an estate sale coordinator coming. Enjoy your morning. Waving!

Good morning Ann - you're looking lonely here!
I've had my walk, indoors again, my first cup of tea and breakfast. Now, I'm watching TV again. In many ways, I'll be glad when the curling is over for the year - too much time in front of the TV. . . While I'm sitting here, I'll come up with some ideas for meals for the next few days and a shopping list so I might be able to claim not completely wasting my time 🙂. Taco salad last night hit the spot!

Hello and good morning to all! Today our national food holidays are: Caramel Day, Deep Dish Pizza Day, and Raisin and Spice Bar Day. We celebrated Pizza Day last night-yum!
Checked out the new Publix near us yesterday afternoon. It was busy, not only with curious customers like DH and I, but I found it surprisingly thick with Publix officials from Lakeland (HQ) and Publix managers from other stores there to help out. Spoke with a very nice Publix big wig near the deli. He said that the design of this new store is liked by shoppers and all future stores built will be of this design. Every aisle had 3-5 Publix people there to help you locate any item you couldn't find, and then they had these officials walking around throughout the store with sample trays of goodies---oranges, blueberries, blackberries from produce, sausage bites from the meat department, carrot cake, cookies, bread from the bakery, etc. Probably could have stayed and ate dinner if we wanted to, but we were in and out in about 25 minutes. Will give the place a few weeks until the "newness" wears down before I return.
This morning at 6, I browned a chuck roast and placed it in the slow cooker along with other ingredients to make Italian Beef (Sandwiches). This will be one of the cook ahead meals I make for our Disney trip. I also have some butter warming up on the counter to make some Peanut Butter, Oatmeal, and Chocolate Chip cookies. Dinner this evening will be frozen shrimp, onion rings, and a salad.
Ann, I've bought those mini-gnocchi before and used them in a soup---very good. Had not heard of the tragic accident in Derry---so sad.
Bet, hope you got your power back and were able to get the car out of the garage this morning.
Birdy, so nice to see you stop by yesterday. Hang in there my friend!
Waving to all, I need to get moving this morning. Lori

While looking for something else in the freezer last night, I came across a pack of cabbage rolls and another of some leftover twice baked potato casserole - they are now in the fridge defrosting for tonight's supper.

Good Morning ! I have a couple minutes free this morning before going to work. Ann, lovely apartment. Hope things work out to get your treasures sold with a nice profit!
Our dinner plans changed last night. I had planned on Nancy's chicken francese, but needed to go and get lemons and mushrooms. I was so very tired when I got home yesterday, so I laid down. Probably a mistake because I fell asleep. In the meantime our next door neighbor called DH and said they were in town so did we want to go out and eat? They own a mobile home just on the other side of the rv hook up lots. They live in Houston but come up maybe once a month. So we suggested the new Mexican place. We ate on the patio since it was nice outside. We enjoyed it but so did the pesky flies! I guess they need to screen in the area. I got the sour cream chicken enchiladas again, but brought enough home to heat up for lunch.
We stopped by the store when we left so I have my supplies and will make the chicken dish tonight along with green bean casserole.
Hoping the temps will be warm enough to melt all the snow. We are a col 54 but should get up to near 80 today. Heater in the morning and ac in the afternoon! Have a nice day!

Good morning. A cool morning of 51º and strong winds and only 67º for the day. Not a very nice weekend either. But it could always be worse.
Last night I slept better but it took me awhile to fall asleep. Woke up feeling pretty good though. The coffee this morning is really going down good, as is the cookie.
Just changing the sheets and one load of laundry this morning and maybe make cookies. Then in the afternoon I'm getting my nails done, stopping at UPS and the 99¢store for some celery. I do need to go to the office today too.
Last night when I took Mandy out, the pit-bull across the street went nuts. I thought it was going to go through the patio door/window. I was terrified hearing how hard it was hitting the thing. Looking around I had no where to go for safety so we walked quickly, not running, to the end of the stree. Being so frightened, I was not going to walk back home. So I went to the other block and had a friend give us a ride back home. I was just shaking, which is why I had a hard time falling asleep last night. This is why I'm going to the office, to let the worthless manager know. I know it will do no good, but I have to say something. Pits are not suppose to be allowed in the park. Ha, rules don't mean squat here. I just hope I can keep my cool and the dog is sent packing.
As usual I've no idea what my meals will be. Maybe some kind of soup for lunch and taco's or pizza for supper. Happy Friday everyone.

Good morning friends.
Well I have been in a couple of times to rest and read but we are now taking a big break. We are both exhausted. We have half of the branches moved off the neighbors land. More to go. We will call a tree expert to take the tree down tomorrow I think or on Monday. The neighbor wants it down too. She is afraid of it landing on her home. So Brian's little "twig" will come down after 34 years.

Sorry about the tree, Chris. We had our dogwood cut down a while ago...I miss it, but it was rotten to the core from a beetle infestation.

Hi again. I am sitting here at hospital in waiting room. Been here a couple hours already. Since they are doing 2 procedures they aren't sure how long it will take.
Tonight, we are going to Texas Roadhouse with a bunch from the park. They will all be leaving soon.
Tasty- I will be making your muffin recipe this afternoon or evening. Not sure I'd I will do blueberry or go get some frozen rhubarb from my sister and try it with that.
I want to also go up to clubhouse and remove the puzzle we finished and start another one ,but that might wait until tomorrow.

Mamma, that is scary about the mean pit bull. Maybe you should carry mace or pepper spray, just in case.
We had a good and busy day at the shop. I am ready to put my feet up, though. Looking forward to supper tonight.

I love rhubarb and in fact I baked Marie Callander's strawberry rhubarb pie this morning. I'll do well to wait til supper. Sorry about your tree, Chris. In addition to fond memories it sure is a lot of work getting it cleared out. Ann, such a lovely apartment! Hope you'll find somebody who will give you a fair price for your treasures. Tammy, Mexican food sounds pretty tasty right now. Tasty, is Cricket or Rugby played in Canada? Elaine, I've only been to Texas Roadhouse a couple times but their ribs were outstanding. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to get home delivery from them or I'd be having those ribs a lot more frequently. Enjoy your evening out. Mamma, good grief! Glad you're going to make the office aware of that snarling dog. Even little tiny fluffball puppies scare me. Bet, hope your driveway wasn't a sheet of ice today. I lived at the top of a small hill in Ohio so it was always iffy whether I'd make the turn into my driveway about midway on the first try. Birdy, hope it's been a good day for you. Lori, lucky you with a brand new Publix nearby. I can still see my favorite Florida Publix in my mind. My supper tonite will be a BLT with some Rotini veggie salad. Should I eat the pie first? Hugs
