**Good morning! It's 38° and mostly cloudy in my part of the world. Good news! Got a call from Gary at Baldwin to arrange our 'walk through' of our apartment. We could have gone next week, but he said the elevator was not working yet so we'd have to walk up four flights of stairs to get to the apartment. Just "NO!", said I!!!! So, Monday, April 1st will be the day we go armed with measuring tapes and cameras...! Did mention that we'd postpone if we get a repeat of the April Fool's blizzard of several years ago. Last night's pork chop dinner was great. I tried that recipe for fried potatoes...a keeper. I used small waxy potatoes because they needed to be used up. I nuked them unpeeled and diced them when cool. Proceeded with the recipe. Yum! littlespicejar.com/easy-skillet-breakfast-potatoes/Today we are going to the Baldwin for a 'building D' update meeting. A light lunch will be served after the meeting. We will also meet another friend who lives in building A and has a similar sized apartment. Interested in seeking how she has set up hers. Tonight we are having leftovers...this and that! Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Hello and good morning, friends! Today our local news mentioned several food holidays: Great American Meat Out Day, National Ravioli Day, National Bock Beer Day and World Flour Day. Looks like we will not be going with Meat Out Day here, as I defrosted pork chops late yesterday.
Kind of chilly this morning, 53*, but this afternoon we will be a much more comfortable 70*.
Getting ready to drive over to our local Aldi's for when they open this morning. DD asked me if I could join the other early morning shoppers and pick up something for her (she is working today and by the time she gets out of the hospital tonight she is afraid they'll be sold out). Afterwards I'll drive over and pay the water bill, then home where I need to bike, and decide how/what I'll make with the chops for our dinner.
Waving to everyone and wishing you a wonderful Wednesday. Hope to get back here later sometime today. Lori

Good morning friends.
Ann- those potatoes look good so I will have to try them. April 1 to walk through! Wow! Good for you.
Lori- I had ravioli last night for supper so I "celebrated" early! LOL
We decided to go shopping this morning and eat breakfast out. Then I have a nail appointment at 1. That will be our day!

Ann, that is exciting. Moving day is getting closer and closer. You will soon be down to counting days 👍. Hope the meeting today goes well and enjoy checking out your friend's ideas on how to set up the apartment. I doubt we'll be following any of the food days today Lori - mainly because we have no ravioli, beer or flour and we've eaten out the last 2 nights - need to use what little we have in the fridge and freezer. Nice that you can help your daughter out by picking up her stuff from Aldi's. Enjoy breakfast out Chris - this must be a day off for you - enjoy! We went to a local buffet place for supper last night. It was OK and certainly had a good selection of southern goodies and I got to try chicken bog. While it was not my favourite, I can see where homemade would be very nice so must try that sometime when we are home. Mounds of hush puppies which pleased hubby. Enjoy your day 🌞.

Good morning everyone Ann, a walk thru will give you a better idea of what to keep or discard. Times getting closer for the move. Those potatoes look good and your method of cooking them first, yes! Good to hear Duchess is settling in at her new home. Tasty, are you heading back home soon? Before Easter? Mamma, Mandy is such a great companion for you. I always feel good after a hair cut. Lori, none of those holidays for us today. Great that you can help your DD with her shopping. How far apart do you live? Birdy, good to see you posting. Sorry to hear you’re still on puréed foods. Can’t wrap my mind around puréed soda bread. Helen, you sound like me when I had a cleaner. Picking up around the house before she got here. Haven’t had one since Covid started. Elaine, what did you decide to do with the hamburger meat? Have no idea what today will bring. Can’t lift stuff of the floor yet (chairs up, etc) to let Hazel loose, so might have to use the big vacuum myself. Hazel does a better job. Think we’ll use up the leftovers from last few days for supper tonight. Bbl. Jan

Good morning, kids. Ann, how exciting to be getting this close to your move. Enjoy yourself today.
Did anyone see the alarming article about Aldi's being closed everywhere on the same day and to be prepared? Turns out when you read it further it is referring to Easter Sunday! They make everything sound like such a big deal these days! It wasn't that many years ago that all stores in this state closed every Sunday! They were called the blue laws and we were so glad when they were ended.
I just got an alert from WeatherBug that we will be seeing unpredictable snow squalls this afternoon which may become dangerous. Apparently they are expecting zero visibility with them. Right now the sun is shining brightly. Then, apparently, we will clear off and be frigid tonight. Al Roker actually predicted a wind chill for a town not too far from us of 5 tomorrow. Welcome spring!
Time to get something accomplished this morning. Have a good day.
Birdy

Morning Birdy. I have seen the same type of scare-mongering stories about Costco. Any headline will do if it gets people to read - my father was a journalist back in the day and he would turn over in his grave if he saw some of the garbage published today.

Good morning. I am sitting here at lab. I decided to try my own clinic lab since it's just for one thing. Lol, not any faster then the other one.
When I get home, I will take Coco for her walk. Then it's shuffleboard
Ann- exciting that you can do your walk thru soon. Those potatoes look good and easy. I use olive oil and butter when I make ours.
Birdy-it sure is great seeing you posting. Did the surgery help your back/ neck from pain?
Lori- non of those foods here today. Not sure what we are having though. I wish we would get an Aldis here.
Chris- yum on breakfast out.
Helen - I ended up taking meatballs, potatoes, and gravy.lol. hubby was happy.
I just got called back.

Hello once again. I'm back from Aldi and paying the water bill but haven't taken my bike ride just yet. I forgot when I got back and took my water pill, so I have to stick around here for a while yet.
Ann, how exciting that you have a walk-though date set up! Have a great visit with your building A friends after your building D update meeting. The potatoes look good---will need to give them a try, maybe this weekend.
Chris, sounds like you have a fun day planned---enjoy!
Tasty, I can't believe how quickly your time in MB has almost gone to an end. I believe for the most part you've had good weather (well better than back home) allowing you and hubby to get outdoors to golf, shop, and enjoy eating out. I must agree with you on some of the garbage the newspapers publish these days---trash! The headlines are a joke, anything just to suck in a reader.
Jan, I'm 3 hours from DD. It's rare that she asks me to pick something up at a store for her, but this was a non-perishable item, so it will be fine until I see her again, hopefully Easter weekend. The parking lot was full when I arrived at the store at 8:55. The new weekly sale begins on Wednesday, so I wasn't really surprised; I was in and out quickly, getting only what DD requested. Sorry to read that you have been under the weather. Hopefully as each new day comes your way, you are feeling better and will regain your strength shortly.
Birdy, as always, a post from you is always encouraging to see. Yes, I have seen the article about Aldi closing for one day. I have seen similar ones for Publix, Home Depot, Lowe's, and countless other stores, all regarding being closed for Easter Sunday. Snow squalls---OMG---yuk! I forget with our bright sunshine, warmth and humidity that it is still winter weather that some of you are still seeing. When your weather warms up, is there a place that you are able to go outside and sit, enjoy some fresh air, and your birds?
Sending out best wishes for a wonderful Wednesday to those not mentioned, but in my thoughts---Bet, Tammy, Helen, Elaine, Elza, mamma (hope I didn't forget anyone). Lori

Lori, the people I live with have told me that in good weather we are able to sit out on the patio. That will be nice since there is a wild area across the parking lot from us.
The young woman who is my caseworker here turns out to be a nature lover too. When she found out that I needed to have a scare number (staff member) with me and cycle out (when I go out) on the grounds to take pictures of birds and flowers, she volunteered to join me. That would be so helpful since not everyone is cured him (tuned in) for that. Don't you love the dictation?

Birdy, that's great you have someone who is also a nature lover and will spend some time with you so you can do some photography. Win/win!

I am just biding time til cleaner gets here. Later than usual. In the meantime I'm getting caught up with emails etc. Ann, it's exciting as move-in day gets closer. Not exactly fun getting everything put away, I know. Jan, I'm hoping you'll continue getting better and get back to feeling well soon. Elaine, I see you're as busy as usual. Hope the poke at the lab didn't hurt too much. Chris, a little drive and out for brekky sure sounds good. Tonite's supper will be an order-in situation so their kitchen gets messed up instead of mine. Sweet dreams.

Ann, how nice to get your walk through must be extremely exciting we won't discuss the blizzard on April fool's Day let's just forget about it.
Lori, I don't think I'll be celebrating any of the foods today either. Got a bit of a cool start but 70 sounds like a wonderful temperature.
Chris, hope you enjoyed your breakfast out and your nails will be just beautiful this afternoon. You are certainly taking advantage of not having to work I must say enjoy it.
Tasty, you're getting close to heading North so I can understand needing to clean out the refrigerator in the freezer. It sounds like you were a little happier with the meal you had last night compared to the last few.
Jan, they do hope that you are feeling better and can get your vacuuming done if Hazel was not going to do it for you is she on strike?
Birdy, so glad to see you here everyday makes the family feel a little more complete. We had blizzard like conditions here this morning it wasn't snowing hard but the visibility was almost zero for a while. Since then the sun has been in and out. Forecast said it wasn't going to be a nice day so I decided not to go to work not happy about that because it stopped everything about 9:00 but I'd already closed out my work day. How great that you will be able to get outside eventually. The best part is that your caseworker is the naturalist like you so you will get to maybe see some birds and do some photography.
Elaine, sorry the clinic that you're at today isn't any faster than what you've been before. Hope you had fun playing shuffleboard.
I have been absolutely lazy today I didn't go to work and I got wrapped up in my emails and new recipes and working on my recipe program that I've done absolutely nothing today and it's 2:30 in the afternoon well yes I did water the house plants that's my story all there is.
Have a great day.
Bet

Birdy, I know you will be so happy when you can get outside with your camera. That's wonderful that you'll have a staffer who shares your interests to help.
Ann, wow, that is coming right up! I hope your April visit is helpful and encouraging.
Lori, you are a good mom to be there at Aldi for DD. I'm glad you found what she was wanting -- sometimes it's hard to get your hands on those "special" items.
Chris, sounds like a great day to me. Hope you've enjoyed it!
Tasty, I've never had chicken bog at a restaurant so I don't know if I'd like it either! I have only ever had it homemade. DH started his career as a newspaper reporter and then editor/general manager of a small weekly. So he gets very aggravated at how the news is presented these days. However, at least he can try to do something about it since he teaches news writing. This fall he'll teach sports writing for the first time -- back to his roots as his first journalism work was covering high school sports, while he was a high school student.
Jan, I love how everybody names their robot vacuums. My DMIL calls her "Rhoda" -- but I really love "Hazel" since I remember the TV show!
Elaine, I hate having to spend time in a waiting room full of sick people! Hopefully it wasn't too bad for you.
Helen, that sounds like a good trade-off to have somebody else's kitchen get dirty. Plus, you're helping the local economy!
Bet, like Lori, it's hard for me to imagine blizzard conditions when we're having sunshine and 70 degree weather. We've had snow in March before, though, so I know it can happen.
I don't see a post from Mamma today so I hope she's okay.
Well, I've cleaned out my old car as we are getting ready to sell it and get a new(er) one for me. So I'm considering that my chore for the day. Now I need to sit down at the piano and do some practicing for tonight, and also grab a snack somewhere along the way.
