Good morning! It's 38° and clear out there. Wind has finally 'left the building'!! My lunch with fellow retired teachers was fun. We went to a Chinese restaurant that is closing because the 'kids' don't want to work in the business. It was slow getting service because there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant! That poor woman! She did a great job. We all left her good tips. Corn chowder with added veggies was really good last night. We had it with artisan rye bread. Tonight we are having fried bologna with 'kraut and potatoes. Will be going to the senior center then home to sort more stuff. Enjoy your morning! Hope to get back later! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Woke up at 3:45 am and could not get back to sleep. I do not have to be into school until 11:30 so just a half day.
Ann- My stew of pork and the leftovers from the boiled dinner was very good too. Glad you had a good time out with the fellow retired teachers. Nice that you all tipped that server well.

Good morning to all! Wishing everyone a beautiful day! Food holidays: National Coconut Torte Day, National Ginger Ale Day and National Riesling Day.
Ann, glad you and retired teacher friends had a nice lunch together yesterday, but that poor sever, all by herself for the entire place. That was so kind of you to tip her well and I'm sure deeply appreciated.
Chris, hope you might be able to take a quick nap before you have to leave for work, but if not, maybe when you get back home. Have a good day.
Bet, thinking of you and the long days you are putting in right now to complete your stores. Be safe on the roads.
My day hasn't started off on the right foot. First, I put on my monkey suit backwards (first time since owning it a year)---took that as a sign that it wasn't meant to be and said the heck with it for today. Since then, MIL has called twice complaining about this and that---when you try to rtalk to her she can't hear as she doesn't have in her hearing aids and she is barking that we ignore her. Ugh! Praying the rest of the day goes better.
Oh, just got a text from my brother, about 3 hours out. Need to go and finish a few last minute thigs. Talk to you again tomorrow. Waving to all! Lori

Good morning. I guess the best thing about it is that the sun is shining. I am not going to work today. I am on strike. Yesterday was a nightmare. Murphy's Law. First store was a breeze and from there it was all down hill. I ended up on the road 11 hours yesterday. What should have been a simple hour job turned into 2 hours which happens sometimes but when I checked out the computer only gave me 30 minutes. My manager just texted me that I could go in and reclose the work and the hours would be adjusted which didn't work and on top of it I got docked 20 points for reopening the service order.
Enough job related problems. I am going to the shop and bury myself in dirt. Sounds like a plan.
Ann, glad you had a good lunch despite the lack of service. Glad you tipped the gal well. Most folks take it out on the waitress when it is obvious that it isn't their fault but rather management.
Chris, sorry about the hole in your sleep last night. Hope you get a chance to rest later today.
Lori, enjoy your DB's visit even though it will be short. Sorry about the WWof the N. Sorry but had to chuckle a bit over your monkey suit. Sounds like something I would do.

Good Morning, Lori, enjoy the visit with DB.
Bet, sorry it was a no good, terrible day for you. Stay home and recuperate!
Chris, hope a nap is in your future.
Glad you enjoyed lunch Ann. How nice to tip the server generously.
I got up at 5:30. I made the French silk pie last night-just have to put the whipped cream topping on it and then chocolate shavings. I just took the rhubarb pie and the bumbleberry pie out of the oven. They both look good. I got started early so they would have time to cool. I have the crust baked and the filling made for coconut cream. Just have to fill the shell and put meringue on top and bake to brown the top.
It is 67 here now and the weather bug is saying it's cloudy out. I think some rain is coming the next couple of days.
Hae not really thought much about supper. I may just heat up the leftover chicken noodle casserole. Not certain what time the dessert auction will be over or if I will feel like cooking anything.
Waving to everyone.

Good morning everybody. Hope that some of your days go better today than yesterday.
Bet, here's hoping that today goes a whole lot better for you. Your company doesn't sound too understanding .
I'm biting my time finishing a late breakfast wow I wait for my ride to a doctor's appointment later this morning. Tomorrow, I have to be ready for transport to the hospital at 7:30. That is early around here for getting cleaned up and dressed. Luckily I won't have to get breakfast though.
I am looking forward to being able to put all my teeth together again. Hopefully, that's going to happen!
Everything you all are cooking sounds so good. I am anticipating being able to eat those kinds of things again .
Have a great day .

Tammy, good luck on the baking contest today.
Birdy, I sure hope those teeth go together and you get some real food. Be careful and don't overdo on the solid food. You system might react better to a slow introduction.

Good morning. Millie and I were up and out walking early. Dropped her off here at home and then Coco and I went for a short walk. Now, I'm waiting 8 to take Cici to the dog park. When I get home it will be showering and going to play shuffleboard.
Not sure if I will play Mexican train today as my sister talked about coming in to see her grand baby ( Millie).
Ann- glad you had a good time even though the service was slow- you got more visiting time in.
Bet- it doesn't sound like you had a good day yesterday- today will be better.
Lori-enjoy your brother and his wife.
Tammy- you have gotten alot done already. Yum on those pies.
Birdy- I pray everything goes great tomorrow. How long will you be in the hospital? Your deer passing thru has to be a wonderful site. I take it you are on the edge of the city?
I need to figure out if we are going to the potluck tonight. If we just stay home we will have fish sandwiches.Which I am leaning towards.

Good morning everyone. Ann, glad you enjoyed your lunch with your retired teacher friends. Yes, the wait staff always gets the complaints when someone isn’t happy with the service. Usually it’s the managements fault. Good you all tipped her well. Chris, sorry you didn’t get a good nights sleep. Just as well you only have to work a half day. Lori, I’ll take the ginger ale please, my favourite soft drink. I rarely have it, though. Sorry the MIL from hell is giving you grief again. On a brighter note, enjoy your visit with your brother and his wife. Bet, sorry to hear of your terrible day yesterday. Don’t blame you for taking today off. Tammy, your pies all sound so good. I no longer make them. Just don’t seem to make the crusts as well as I used to. They don’t seem as flaky. Now I bake a cake if I need a desert. Birdy, hope all goes well with you tomorrow. Will be so nice to eat ‘normal’ food again. Are you looking forward to a nice juicy steak? Sorry I’ve missed posting the last couple days. Yesterday was a long day, but a good one. Went to Kelowna to visit DH’s sister. She turns 96 this summer. Sad to see her memory slowly declining, but she’s always so cheerful. Today will be another lazy day here. Just like most days here lately. I’m thinking, scrambled eggs and? for supper, after having two restaurant meals yesterday. Gotta get the salt and fat out of our systems. Bbl. Jan

Birdy- I am praying everything goes good tomorrow for you and soon you can have a good piece of fried chicken!
Bet- So sorry you had a bad day yesterday. Buried in flowers and pots will help! LOL
Tammy- I want to come bid on your pies! Any one of them would be scrumptious!
Lori- I hope you have a great time with your DB and DSIL. And that the WW of the N leaves you alone. I won't hold my breath on that last one! LOL
Well time to get moving here.

Elaine- Sounds like another busy day for you. I think you need to add the dog whisperer thing to your resume! I wish I could play shuffleboard with you! I love that game!
Jan- Do you know Anita Bakalos from the old TOH board? She lives in Kelowna! I talk to her a lot n FB. So you are not far from her. I like breakfast for supper.

Good morning. Ann, it looks like your wind will be joining us. By tomorrow morning the gusts could reach 40 mph!!! I'm sure the parents of the restaurant are sad to close. Kids don't always want to do what the parents did. Very nice of y'all to leave a good tip.
Chris, you have worse sleep nights than I do. At least you don't have to work a full day today. Too bad you can't get in a nap first.
Lori, I like coconut anything. :) I too will say a prayer that the rest of your day goes much much better.
Bet, I'm so sorry that you had a not so good day yesterday. No way could I do what you do. That is just way too much driving. Do you have to use your own car too yet?
Tam, I would love to have a great big sample of your rhubarb pie. No rhubarb down here and I miss it so very much. There was so many things that I made with it back in MN. I'm sure your pies are much better than any pie I could buy down here.
Birdy, the very best of success for your procedures. I can't imagine all that you have gone through. And yet you have such a good attitude.
Elaine, you need to start your own dog walking business. You could make a bundle. hehehehe
Jan, you never seem to have lazy days compared to mine. LOL We better not have a contest though. hehehe Enjoy your day, whatever you do.
Not a good night for sleep again. And I just can't get rid of the stiff neck and the lightheadedness. I'm sure they go hand in hand too. No pillow that I have, none of the 4, are helping at all. Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and get a massage. I just don't know what else to do. At least it's not pain like with my old mattress. :'(
I can hardly wait to get my nails done today. They are so long, in fact I broke one opening a drawer. Ouchie. Next week I finally can get in and get a hair cut. I'll be all spiffed up and no where to go. The nail salon is close to a massage place so maybe I should just go in and see when I can get in for help. Once home it will be time to find something for lunch. With my nails cut I'll be able to finish the Easter cards. I don't know how these gals can do anything with one the inch nails that they have. :-S
I'm thinking a lettuce salad for lunch, but I better boil some eggs this morning for that, and then maybe some fish patties, corn and relishes. I can't plan meals because my taste changes often during the day.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

Elaine, you sure keep busy. The best part of having others dogs, like grandkids you can sent them back to their parents.
Jan, you sure had a busy day yesterday. Good to rest up today.
Mamma, maybe that message with help. I am you with long nails. I have problems keeping nails with my job. I was just finally getting them to look pretty good and a broke one down real low. Yes ouch. I do use my own car. Yesterday I was in Vermont so filled up to the tune of $40 but that was a $3.099 a gallon. Here in New York at the beast station here it would have been $.10 a gallon more and that is with $.10 off a gallon off the pump price with my credit card. I do get paid mileage and what I got for my trip a little more than paid for that tank of gas but that will last me a week. So what I get paid of gas on Thursday and Friday will go toward repairs if needed. The 2 days will be a little more than I was paid yesterday.
Have a great day.

Bet you should get paid more than just mileage. That is a lot of wear and tear on your car.

I will tell you a secret...I don't make good pie crust usually. So...I use Marie Callender's frozen shells for the bottom and then use Betty Crocker pie crust mix for any top crust. It is always flaky, and everyone thinks it is all homemade. Thanks for the good wishes. I will report in later.
Mamma, if a massage helps you more than anything else, then I say go for it! No sense in being uncomfortable.
They are serving bbq beef sandwiches for lunch down at the activity center-DH's smoked brisket. I will go down and myself one and then 2 to go. I will be getting them for 2 of my friends who help out at the church mission. I am leaving them in the ice chest and they will come by later. I will ask to have the beef packaged separate so the buns won't get soggy. The time they come by I will probably be at the dessert auction.
Bye again.
