Good morning! It's 55° out there now. Yesterday's high was 62°! Enjoyed the warm sunshine. Our day went well. Passed the cognitive test w/o a problem. It was more 'complicated' that others I have had...course, had to draw the clock!!! We had a good time with our new Baldwin friends. I had a falafel gyro for lunch...delicious! Bill had a chef's salad that he really enjoyed. We went back to friends' apartment...similar to what we will have. I got a better look at the space and was able to visualize where I'd put some of our furniture. They showed us the storage room and the garage. Supper was the rest of the chicken and rice 'dump' soup with Ritz vegetable crackers...yum. Tonight we are having chicken breasts with Aldi's butter chicken sauce, whole grain rice, and a vegetable. Will be going to walkaerobics and Curtis today. No other plans. Enjoy your morning. Will be back for a chat. Waving!

Good morning all. Dull here this morning but it's early yet. Supposed to get bright and sunny with a high of 70 - perfect golf weather so you know what we're doing today! At home it's starting out at 50 (no, that's not a typo), will get to 54 by mid-morning and then the rain starts and the temperature plunges so that tomorrow's high will only be 25. Glad you had a good day yesterday at the Baldwin Ann. Good you passed the cognitive test 👍 too. Hope work is easy this week Chris. Waving to all this Wednesday 🌞.

Good early morning. 6:10 as I start this post. Ann, good you got those tests behind you. I’d have a difficult time with the clock, and don’t get me started with the 3 or 4 words they have you memorize. I would fail, I’m sure. Hi Chris. Tasty, you’re sure getting lots of golfing in. Lots of walking, good exercise. By the time you get home, the local courses should be ready too. Lori, glad you and DH liked the Newfie Goulash. Not much to it but everything I usually have in the house. Comfort food for sure. If I remember correctly, found the basic recipe online, but added the green pepper and mushrooms. As usual, don’t know what’s for supper. I do know we’ll be having Butter Chicken soon. Ann’s made me hungry for some. Don’t think the chicken will be thawed for tonight though, maybe tomorrow. Coffee’s ready. Off to get the day started. Bbl. Jan ps..took me 19 minutes to type this!

Good morning.
Mary and her two came to the pet area this morning shortly after we got there. Her two could see my cart as they were walking down the path and Mary said she all but got pulled off her feet as the dogs were in such a hurry. LOL All three dogs were so happy to see each other. Lots of butt sniffing and nose licks. It was so funny. They just saw each other yesterday.
It's a bit cooler this morning but still above 50. Lincoln (DS) sent me a text saying it was 0º, icy roads, and -20 wind chill. He had no work today and Maria decided to work from home today. I like knowing they are home on days like that. Mamma worries.
No wicked wind today and up to 77º. Good day for some walking. And I hope to get the baby beef roast in the crock pot on time today.
Ann, I could feel your excitement all the way down here. I'm so happy all worked out so well for you yesterday. :)
Ann, waving hi to you as you fly by. Have good days at work.
Tasty, crazing jumping temps all over the country. Enjoy the warmth.
Jan, I'm sure that whatever you make for supper, it will be delicious. :)

Good morning. It was 42°here overnight buy none of the wind they were predicting. It will be warm here today the start dropping tonight. It will be down to about 12 by morning. At the moment if is very foggy still here at 10 AM. Forecast is for rain off and on all day and this evening but doesn't say how much but apparently not much. I didn't get my lazy but out of bed until 8 this morning so it was really too late to go to work so here I sit. I have a heavy schedule to do in one day so will brave the cold and do it all tomorrow. I do have about a hour of work here in town so if I decide to go to town this afternoon I may do that then.
No specific plans for the day but lots to get done around here. I know I will spend some time it the kitchen. That is a given. Would like to make some Moose track ice cream maybe today. Have some milk to use up so could also make some ricotta cheese. Also have a hankering for a Pumpkin Pie. Time will tell.
Ann, glad that the medical went well yesterday and always nice to have lunch with friends. Glad you are getting some idea of how things are going to shape up with you move.
Chris, hope work goes well this week. What are you the expert in this week?
Mamma, nice that Mary was at the pet area today.
Tasty, enjoy your golfing. I understand that one golf course just 30 miles south of me is open. Very unheard of in this area.
Tammy, enjoy your day with no specific things you have to do.
This isn't getting anything done.
Have a great day.

Bet, they have been golfing at the course near my house to the past couple days. Very very very early. And there's been so unpredictable. The deer heard here on the ground have been getting restless. I looked out my window the other evening and there was a parade of 10 walking and grazing across the field next to me. Lots of the young aides whoⁿ live in the city and their cell phones out taking videos.
Not much going on. I had my shower this morning which always feels Good. Not much planned except working on My income taxes. I don't know what I would do without turboTax.
We have very own shuttled leather coming. I thought I'd leave the phone's version of my dictation this time. I'm talking about weather with a lot of variation. Today we have rain showers with thunder, high winds expected tonight with freezing as The temperatures drop from a record high to below average. Lots of black ice out there .
Tomorrow the winds pick up with wind up to 60, lake effect snow with amount from 7 to 11 in. Those are supposed to say south of us. Let's hope so. I have the doctor's appointment on Friday and the last one was canceled because of a blizzard so let's keep our fingers crossed!
Hope you are all having decent weather. Talk to you later .

Good Morning ! It is a nice day in my neighborhood. It's 65 and sunny. Tomorrow's high is 57. I slept in and am sipping my 2nd cup of coffee. Ruth is still away in Houston so I stripped the bed and am washing those sheets.
There is a small business that opened in the park-they do small machine repair and they are having a grand opening today so I have been invited to that. It's at 2.
Supper will be scalloped potatoes with meatballs. The recipe has a recipe for homemade meatballs but i am not Bet, so bought frozen ones! I know they don't taste as good but what can I say besides I am lazy? This flavor is cheese so hoping they are better than the other ones I have purchased.
Good to hear from you Birdy. Hope you are able to keep the doctor appointment. Did you ever receive the card and magazine article that I sent?
We still have the dog Pedro. The son of the deceased owner was supposed to come get him at the end of the month. I thought he was taking the dog to the wife who is now living with her DD. But...the other day Wendy came and got him to take him for a look see with her next door neighbor. She said that the son Burt did not plan on taking Pedro. They had better find a new home because we do not plan on keeping him. Things are better, no one potties in the house, thank goodness. Our girl dog hates him and is usually hiding somewhere away from him. The boy dog has fallen in love with his new playmate and follows him everywhere. When Pedro left for about 20 minutes the other day with Wendy, poor Rudy walked around whining the entire time!
That is about all the news from me, such as it is. Have a very nice day, a yummy meal, and sleep well tonight-that's an order!

Please, no one take offense........ This morning I was watching a Pioneer Woman show, I love her programs. Anyway she made what she called potato salad. But she mashed the potatoes! To me it was just cold mashed potatoes and not a salad. Then I recalled going to my neighbors for Easter dinner last year. Her potato salad was mushy with no texture, or taste as far as that goes. I thought she just over stirred. hehehe Does anyone else make mashed potato potato salad? I've never heard of or had it before.

Hi Mamma,
I have taped the Pioneer Woman program for many years and enjoy it especially when her kiddos were young.
I have to say mashed potato salad in my opinion sounds dreadful in my opinion. Sometimes when potatoes are cooked too long they break down and become mashed and mushy. Not my cup of tea. I cook my potatoes long enough to be cooked but intact. Sometimes, I pick up a few servings from the deli and they are usually pretty tasty.
Come on Spring, this winter cold, and snowy and icy needs to move along.

Hello and good afternoon, friends! Today is National Chocolate Souffle' Day.
Ann, good news hearing you passed the exam yesterday. Great that you were able to spend a little time in your friend's apartment and could visualize where you might put your furniture in your own place. It will all work out just fine!
Tasty, hope the early morning fog lifted quickly and you and DH were able to get to the golf course.
Chris, hope your work is going well and you have had no problems with your students. What are you teaching this week?
Bet, I hope you enjoy a well-deserved day off from work and spending some time in the kitchen. I spent a bit of time in the kitchen earlier today making a recipe my DM got back in 1985 from our local newspaper. I had a zucchini that I needed to use up before it went south and had some orange juice, so I made an Orange Zucchini Pound Cake. It didn't rise as high as I thought it would, but if it tastes good, that's all that matters. I will cut a small piece for DH this evening, but plans are to put the remainder into the freezer to have, if anyone wants some, when my DB arrives in a few weeks.
Jan, I decided I will warm up your leftover goulash as one of the sides with our chicken and salad dinner this evening.
mamma, nice that you and Mandy were able to visit with Mary and her two fur babies this morning. The sound of your beef roast has me licking my lips---haven't had that in a while. How is your sleeping coming along with the new mattress? I hope each night is getting more comfortable for you. I slept like a baby with our new mattress last night.
Birdy, how wonderful to see a post from you once again. I take that as a good sign that your health is moving forward in the right direction. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this Friday so you can make your doctor appointment.
Tammy, I didn't realize that you and DH were dog sitting along with your two dogs. Hope Pedro will find another loving forever home soon so your little girl does have to hide any longer. Have a nice time at the grand opening event this afternoon. Are those wildfires in Texas anywhere near your or family members? I hope not.
Got the results first thing this morning on my lab work yesterday. I am on the low normal range of potassium, so the doctor said I caught it probably just in time. I told myself this morning that I could and would swallow that huge horse pill and I did! Hope it goes down that easy every morning.
Yesterday I forgot to mention the new pricing that Wendy's will be starting but have heard about it several times again today. In case you haven't heard about it, they will be charging different prices for their food depending on the time of day and days you order. I haven't heard of this with any restaurant in the past, but I do know this is something not new. Disney has been doing this for a while now and I heard the pick-up services (Lift and Uber) do the same depending on time of day/night and weather conditions. DH and I don't use either Lift or Uber and we haven't eaten at Wendy's in probably 15-20 years. I know everyone is trying to re coop from when Covid shut down so many services, but I wonder if this is going to be the "new way" of the future? Probably.
Have you heard about measles making the rounds in Florida? So far, there are 9 cases at an elementary school in Broward County and now one adult case in Pasco County. Several counties locally have voiced concerns this morning as they have large numbers of unvaccinated students. When I first started teaching, the schools were very strict and no shots, no school.
Time to do a little dusting and rearranging to the bookcase. Take care friends and have a nice afternoon/evening. Waving to all! Lori

mamma, I do not make, nor have I ever tasted mashed potato salad. I didn't grow up eating potato salad that way therefore I'm sorry but doubt it would be my cup of tea. Lori

Hello, again! It's rainy and windy but still really warm out there. Going to be a different story tomorrow, I hear!!! After walkaerobics, I sat and chatted until Bill came in from his walk. In process of making the butter chicken. Took a few more things from the freezer...vegetable corned beef hash (veggies cooked in CB broth), bacon, 1/2 turkey breast, pieces of coffee cake, and a container of broth. Will be using in the next few meals. Anyone have a recipe for one of those layered tortilla bake...refried beans, salsa, burger, cheese stacked and sliced like a pie? I've been looking online, but I haven't seen one that I like. I was wondering what other foods were high in potassium, and I found this article. Interesting! www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods-loaded-with-potassium#high-potassium-foodsTammy - That's impressive you finding so many links to your birth parents! I had to smile when you said you weren't Bet...me neither! I use frozen meatballs all of the time. The latest ones I found at Aldi...beef meatballs with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. I really like Aldi's frozen meatballs. My Market Basket has frozen Carando that are usually in the fresh meat case. These are marked down. When I see them, I get a couple. Those are really like homemade!! carando.sfdbrands.com/en-us/products/fresh-italian-meatballs/Birdy - Good to hear from you! I'd love to see deer outside my window! Black ice terrifies me. Now when I hear it might be on the roads, I stay home! Bet - Homemade ricotta is over and above in taste to "boughten"! Mamma - I love visiting the Baldwin to see what I can see before we move. I am excited but petrified at the same time. Jan - When given the four word to say back later, I made a 'silly sentence' using them. The the sentence in my mind was "I crossed the bridge and brought Jessica Simpson a banana. Tasty - Enjoy your golf game! Lori - I looked up Jan's Newfoundland Goulash...looks good. I'm still thinking about that delicious falafel gyro I had yesterday!! My cookbook bookcase is half empty my rotating four slot one is completely empty. I'm planning on taking the rotating one to use with my favorite cookbooks...I think!!! I have to go through my file container and week out more printed ones, and move all to a smaller container of to the 2-drawer file we are taking. Elza - So sorry you have those migraines. Bill had one incident a couple of years ago. Jan - We have a New Balance factory outlet a mile from here. I buy casual sandals and 'sneakers' there. Helen - We still have not gotten our mail-in ballots, and they are due next Tuesday. Bother! Best get a move on!! Enjoy the rest of your day. Waving!

**PS - Many decades ago, I made mashed potato salad. It tasted like potato salad, and with add-ins of the typical potato salad veggies and hard boiled eggs, it was 'chunky' enough. But, I prefer chunky potatoes in mine, for sure. I read another site and found out that the recipe originated in East Texas. It's is a common dish served with BBQ using an ice cream scoop. Here's PW's recipe. www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a10223/fourth-of-july-week-perfect-potato-salad/

Lori, like you, I have been sleeping like a baby. The new mattress was a hit the very first night. Isn't it great to sleep comfortably? Lori, eat a banana every day to help raise your potassium level. I haven't eaten at Wendy's since they went with Kiosk ordering. There is no way to specialize an order. Pricing according to the time of day is so wrong. I'll never go back anyway.
Tamara, I would not be too happy having been saddled with another dog. Poor Pedro. It's been ages since I've had scalloped potatoes, mmmmmm. Have an extra helping for me. :)
Ann, I would be nervous too. Change always makes me over anxious. But you will do great in your new home, I just know it. The picture of PW potato salad did not look good to me at all. hehehe
An egg salad sandwich for lunch. Earlier I made potato salad, the right way, LOL. I'll have that tomorrow for lunch. Just before lunch a dear friend from my home town called and we talked for an hour. Now I need to clean up the mess in the kitchen. I have so very little counter space that one item sitting out takes up the whole counter.
