Good morning. It is 8°here this morning and sunny at the moment. May get some snow flurries at some point today. I need to get out and fill the bird feeders and get to the kitchen to get the Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole put together. Everything is prepared except shredding the cheese. Then I will go the green beans.
To add to Charlene's meme-Happy Family Day to our Canadian Friends.

Good morning. Nice bright sunshine and it's bouncing off the snow so it's really bright. A chilly 14 out also. I see the deer had a party in the back yard last night. I'm so glad I put a fence around the garden in the fall. I see footprints checking it out.
Yesterday it snowed most of the day and the wind was strong. It was blowing snow all over. Not a nice day. I'm ready for spring any day now.
Today not sure what I will get into. I have no plans.
Have a wonderful day.

Goood morning, Unseasonably warm temperatures are predicted. Yesterday it was windy and therefore cold. DGS is staying here for a few days after work and spending the night. I've forgotten how much a young, healthy 23 year old can eat. LOL!!! Marlene

Good morning. 12 and sunny. High of 36 today. Fabulous for February. The 10 day looks nice. Just one cooler day on Friday otherwise above freezing. So weird to have nearly no snow. My mom doesn’t have any.
Yesterday I got a final coat of paint on moms bathroom. Once that was done I got the mess cleaned up. I put the pictures back on the walls, curtain rod and valance back up, light switch cover on. It turned out nice. Next weekend we will install the flooring, put up some new trim, and put in the new toilet. That will be at least one thing done and taken care of. We ended up having Boston again for a good chunk of the day. He sure had fun playing with dd. Hes at such a cute age. He wanted to play hide and seek with her. She would hide and then when he’d find her he’d say my turn, and then would hide in the same spot she had been. He’s also in to playing the floor is lava thanks to dh at Christmas. So he lays all these things out to walk on. Dh got to my moms at about 1:15. We had pie and coffee and left at 2:30 for home. We walked 2 miles once we were home.
Today we are touring another college with dd2. We will be visiting the WI college dd1 graduated from. After we will do some shopping in Duluth before heading home.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Sometimes it can be fun to check various sources for weather readings. The laptop app says we are 28° with a feels-like temp of 37°. Huh? The app I usually go by on my phone says 25° with a feels like of the same thing. The little weather reading at the bottom my laptop says 23°. Both of the latter sound more accurate than the one I think is Microsoft's version. Anyway, the sun is feeling pretty swell flooding in the windows this morning. I think we ought to get above 40 today and maybe tomorrow before we warm up substantially. DSis#3 is coming to pick me up to go celebrate DM's birthday. Should be a short visit since we are meeting at McDonald's near DM's house. Good thing because DH seems a bit out of sorts. He usually just watches TV during the time I'll be gone, so hopefully he does that. I'm leaving him some Burger King that he can warm up when he feels hungry. Bet, your mention of "Family Day" to our Canadian friends reminded me about that. I went on a wild goose chase on FB following that, expecting I had posted about Family Day on there since finding so much of a family history in Canada but I never did. Gonna have to correct that later today! Charlene, I may need to borrow your meme. 😉 Just looked at the clock and realized I need to get dressed and moving. Have a marvelous Monday!

Good morning. A chillier day here, so don't know about outside work. Still haven't started more seeds so need to do that today. Yesterday was a good day at church and everyone I talked to after seemed to like the pastor. The committee will be moving forward to present him for the church to vote on. This morning I put Tom and the 2 male kittens outside. One of the kittens likes to watch the birds and a mockingbird will sit in a branch right above him. Today the kitten was on the porch watching and the bird landed on a dead tithonia that I hadn't pulled. After a few times of it going from the tithonia to the tree I noticed it must have been getting seeds. Tom is afraid to be outside but will stay longer if the kittens are out there. I think he thinks he needs to protect them. He's always been their big playmate.
Melissa, you are always busy with big projects. Your mother and MIL have been fortunate to have the 2 of you.
Sandy, enjoy your snow but keep it there. With things beginning to pop up it's a bit late in the season for us, although we have had late cold in the past that froze azalea buds and new leaves.
Marlene, I know what you mean about how much a young person can eat. I bring food in and it disappears.
Bet, have fun cooking and enjoy the meeting tonight.
Hello Dave.

Break time. Give my arms a rest. Took pills before I started but they are just starting to kick in. Two batches of the Cordon Bleu recipe are finished. One more to go. Then all I need to do is put the green bean dish together. That won't take long then it is just a matter of getting everything backed up to go later this afternoon. I won't make the Balsamic Butter Sauce until just before I leave and get the beans etc. into a crock pot to keep the hot until we serve. Am actually finishing the casserole at the Center in their ovens and then into a chaffing dish. Will also heat the rice and get that into the crock pot before I leave. Not sure what I will do this afternoon but sure there is plenty to do around here. At least maybe I will have time to actually get myself ready to go to the meeting by 5 PM.
Sandy, I have deer tracks all over my yard but I don't see them. I see they have found there way to my Rhody again this year. The sun is bright off the 1/2" coating we got last night.
Marlene, young boys especially pack the food away. Our high right now is 20°but that is in the sun. I am sure it is much cooler in not in the sun. However, no matter I is warmer than usual for February. We haven't been below zero but once I think all winter and that was barely below and -20° to -40° used to be very common the month of February.
Karen, enjoy your time out with your Mom for her birthday today.
Melissa, nice job at your Mom's this weekend. Have a good tour of the college today.
Good Morning Dave.
Leslie, good that you can get some of the cats outside for a while. Maybe Tom will eventually start to like it out there. Hope you get the females all fixed soon. Hopefully the vote at church goes well and you will have a new pastor soon.
Mary, yes the birds were happy to seen me this morning however, I wasn't all that happy being out there is morning.
Time to get back to cooking.
Bet

Good morning. Happy Monday, whichever, if either, of the holidays you are celebrating today. It was cool down on the beach this morning when we went for a walk - might get to the mid 50s but it's gray and dull. At home the sun is shining and a very cold start to the day. Hopefully it is supposed to get up to 25 - that's normal type temperatures for February so I'm not complaining about the 40/50s we're having in MB. Nothing planned for the day but I expect we'll get out somewhere later in the day. Enjoy your Monday.

Good afternoon,
I'm home & have been for a while. We are sunny & 53* at the moment.
I had to stop at WM on the way home for cat food & Kitty litter. That is where all my money goes these days.
When I got home there was stuff to put away, feed the cats, water my Amaryllis, take care of the GH, clean out litter boxes. etc;etc; One of the etc; was checking my seedlings. The re-seeding of Perennial Foxglove did not go well so I ditched the straggly few that did show up. I have plenty of Biennial & Dwarf. I may transplant those tomorrow to make room for new seedlings.
Two hr later I finally got to sit down & have some lunch. Then decided to read & maybe nap a little. I finished my book but never did really nap. Just dozed off & on for a few minutes at a time.
Sandy, deer wander through my yard all the time which reminds me I should go spray those new Camellia bushes.
Leslie I keep forgetting to tell you this story:
When I was growing up you never heard of people neutering their cats. Don't know why, you just didn't. And I never met an "indoor" cat back then either. They either stayed out or they came & went.
So my aunt had a female in heat & she didn't want any more kittens around. She shut the female up in the crawl space under the house & my uncle make a type of screen door for the opening that you could close & latch.
Sounds good, right? Well, not when you accidentally shut the Tom up in there with her. LOL We laughed about that for yrs.
Karen, yesterday at Mike's my phone said the temp was one thing (don't remember what) but the feel like was warmer. I've never seen that in Winter months.
I'm going to go spray those bushes while I think of it.
Oh, I took Melissa's advice & cut off the daffodil stems today that had buds before they get destroyed. At least they will hopefully get to bloom.
I was looking through Gilbert Wild's selections online while at Mike's & put a few new things in the "Wish List" . I haven't gotten their catalog yet, but I'm sure I will. Everything is pretty expensive this yr.
OK, NOW I'm going.
