Gayle, that is funny. I'm sure they weren't exactly happy. Growing up we didn't spay or neuter our cats either and I don't know how we got rid of the kittens. I'm just hoping Luna isn't in heat when her appointment time comes because that's another reason they won't do it I assume. I think she's going out now, but then Penny may come back in heat unless she's pregnant. She's gaining weight and she was in heat right about the time they wouldn't neuter Tom. And then DGS put her outside one night because she and Luna were fighting. She wasn't out long because I went out and got her as soon as I found out. She's put on weight before so I'm hoping she's not pregnant but I won't be surprised. I'll know for sure before her appointment and will see if they will do Oreo instead. Oreo is the female kitten and she'll be 4 months old by then so not sure if they will.
Today I emptied one litterbox and took it and the mat outside and sprayed them with a cleaner but haven't gone back to hose them out. Hopefully the one will suffice for tonight. I swept and mopped the hallway, den, dining room and kitchen with my new mop and cleaner and they look better than they have in a while. But it won't last. I also vacuumed my bedroom and my bathroom rugs, which sent Luna into hiding under my bed for a while. I cooked cabbage with onions, carrots, potatoes and smoked sausage and ate some for lunch and supper. I think I'll do some more newspapers searching since the free time ends tonight I think.
Gayle, I have ordered the tidy cats lightweight 17 lb box from Amazon for 25.50 and then scooped it into 2 jugs I had. The jugs at Walmart are a little over 15 so as much as I go through it's a savings for me. I would prefer a more expensive litter that won't track so bad but guess I'll just have to keep sweeping for the time being.
