Good morning. It was 59°this morning with rain a good part of the day. We won't get out of the 60's. Real strange weather for August. The next 10 days are in the 70's with showers almost everyday. August we usually have quite a few 80's days and usually a couple of 90's. My plan it to work today but it is suppose to rain all morning. Still debating what I want to do. Have so much I want to get done here that it is hard to force myself to go to work.
Have a great day.

Good morning all! 82° and sunny. Aerobics this morning and Dr's appt in the afternoon. Since I never got any calls after my test results I expect all news to either be okay or pointing in the right direction.
The weekend was uneventful. Another couple is getting married. Both were widowed. I got a pedicure and all the red ant bites came to a head. Funny that I never felt them before the pedicure. I wonder if one can build up an immunity.
Bet, I'm sure you don't need more rain but at least your temps are lower than your usual.
Charlene, great find on the dress. Gayle glad you had a nice weekend.
Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning everyone. It is 62º and going to 82º later with chances of scattered showers this afternoon.
Yesterday afternoon I went to DS's and he put the 2 new tires on my car. I had just gotten home and I got a text that DD & DSIL were at DS's house, so I hopped in the car and went back. I got home around 6 and other than water the plants on the front porch, I did nothing constructive. Yesterday morning I got the upstairs all cleaned up.
this morning I clean for the lady minister and when I am done, I will wrap my neighbor lady's legs if she's up. She is a night owl and goes to bed late and sleeps until 11-noon most days. I hope to get more hosta blooms cut and weeds pulled this afternoon. I have to deadhead phlox as well since the downpour of rain Friday night knocked alot of the blooms off.
Bette...Hope you have a good day whatever you decide to do.
Gayle....does the $350 for rent include utilities? It is the utilities and upkeep expense that kills me even though I don't have a house payment....not to mention property taxes and insurance. Charlene

Charlene and I were thinking alike this morning. When I checked the first time, there were only two people online and they weren't anyone I thought might start this thread so I found a meme and came to post. By that time, I noticed Charlene had replied to a thread so she had come in while I was away. When I got my meme posted, it must have been within a minute of Charlene's. Just the way it goes sometimes. At least now I have a Monday meme saved to the computer and won't have to seek one out again. Today begins our week of plenty of moisture, I guess. We are gloomy as all get out right now, but no real rain falling even though radar is suggesting we have it. It's expected to be on and off quite a bit this week. It'll provide me with plenty of time to do inside fun stuff like pay bills. This is probably what I need, though, to force myself into working inside. With as nice as our weather has been, I'd just want to play outside if we wouldn't be getting rain. Getting the lawn mowed will once again be a challenge because the grass will grow like crazy and getting David here to mow will take some time. It's always something. DH seems to be doing well after his tumble. Better than I expected, actually. I had been thinking I'd need to call the PCP this morning for something for his pain, but he tells me he is doing okay. Just a little sore sometimes. I was able to hook together two abdominal binders I had from my surgery last summer to brace DH's torso a little bit. Between that, ice packs and ibuprofen I think we weathered the worst of the storm. Our neighbors whose grandkids swam in the pool a couple of weeks ago have returned home from their scenic route to getting the babies returned to their parents. The wife volunteered the hubby to fix our granny steps and help get them installed for us. Hopefully the offer still stands. DH is making noise about wanting to put Gorilla tape on the actual crack when the neighbor said he has an epoxy that will bond the steps easily and could be stronger than the plastic itself. That is what we need, not floating tape in the pool. My hope is to get this on the neighbor's radar so we can get the steps installed. I also want to get some Rust-oleum paint to get on the edges of the pool before my family party on the 19th. If that doesn't happen, I can live with it. I'd just like to get it done before we close the pool. It will be nicer next year when it gets opened. Gayle, I am sure you have a keen sense of what I am going through with DH. Thanks for the supportive words. It's good to hear that you had a nice visit at Mike's over the weekend. Now you know what kind of flower Maddie appreciates, that could make for nice gift options. Keep your eyes open for anything having to do with verbena. It seems crazy to me that Max will be starting college soon, but since he is, I wish him great luck. I imagine it was helpful to hear Mike's POV on your situation. I always appreciate hearing our DSon's thoughts on things. We raised good kids so their opinions are likely good ones. I'm so glad, Charlene, that your tires are on the car now and you got in some good quality time with the family. Deadheading can be so tedious, but we have to do what we have to do. Those dang downpours can really do a number on our blooms, can't they? I also wanted to congratulate you on finding that dress. It hardly ever happens that we find something we like, it fits well, and is on sale. Kudos to you! Yikes on those temperatures, Bet! Hardly August-like, right? We are hearing that our summer has also been unusually cool. I believe records are showing we haven't had a summer like this since 2014 or 2015 depending on what they were measuring. Best wishes on deciding what to do with your day. When the options are plentiful the choices are hard. Wendy, wishing you well at the doctor's office. I suspect you are right about not hearing anything from the doctor on your results. Usually, offices are on top of any results that need addressing right away. What a curious reaction your body had to the ant bites and pedicure. Very nice to hear that two people you know have found happiness together after having lost their previous partners. Well, I better get started on being useful. Like Bet, so many choices that the decisions will be hard. At least with the good weather and being able to have the windows open, I am able to enjoy the squabbling hummingbirds that I am sure have begun migrating. Their squeaks always catch my attention. Have a marvelous Monday!

Good morning. 67 headed to 77. Tomorrow is the last 80 forecast in the 10 day then some cool windy weather for early August.
Yesterday we had a nice visit with my mom. We were there about 5 hours. We brought stuff for BLTs, coleslaw, and fruit for lunch. Dh went for a 9 mile run while my mom and I walked around and looked at flowers. Her soil and sun is so much better than mine so her plants always look so much bigger and better. By the time we got home it was time to make some dinner, and settle in for the night.
Not sure what I am doing today. I need to go to Home Depot for suet. They have the cheapest price as you can get a case price. Dds are both working as is dh. He just called me to talk about the weekend. The weather looks terrible for camping. Chances of rain every day up north, temps in the 60s, and winds 20-25mph. Thats the real bad part. Ever try to fish and canoe in 25 mph winds on a big lake? Lets just say its not gonna happen. We’d be stuck in camp. Dh wanted to ask what I thought about going to ND to Theodore Roosevelt instead. Quite the difference! Lol! So hes researching options.
They come to fix the fridge tomorrow. Will be good to have that taken care of. Glad we have a basement fridge.
Charlene-Glad that Corey got the tires on.
Gayle-Nice that you were able to visit the family and see Max before he heads off to school. I hope it goes well for him.
I better find some breakfast and some motivation. Have a great day.

Good morning, it is cloudy and chance of T-storms throughout the day with chance of high winds and hail. Temperature is currently at 77°. No plans to go anywhere so let it go.
Today I will be making stir fry. It is actually a bagged Asian salad from Aldi, but I use it to do a stir fry.
Nothing much happening around here at the moment. Having my one cup of coffee and maybe read or play games on the computer. Have a good day.

Well I am still on here so guess I am not going to work today. Now they are saying the rain will be ending around noon. To this point it has been just a mist. Oh well it is too late to get going since I don't have my shopping list done for the sales and this trip today would also be shopping day as the stores that have the good sales this week are in the town I was going to be working.
Wendy, good luck at the Dr's. I always get a call with the results of my test and no further appoint unless there is a problem. I would like to see a little bit of summer weather. Winter is long enough without out at least a change to enjoy warm weather for a month or so at least.
Charlene, nice deal on the dress. I enjoy weeding and all that goes with it but between time available and weather it just hasn't happened this summer. Nice day with family yesterday. I am sure your yard will look just great for Corn Days as it always does.
Karen, I agree the epoxy would be much better than tape no matter what it is and in fact the tape would be dangerous. Glad that DH isn't feeling too much discomfort as a result of his fall.
Melissa, I would not like to be on a lake in any kind of boat with the weather you are expecting. Hopefully you will get another good weekend to go. Quite a run your DH took yesterday. I knew he was a runner but didn't realize to that extent. It must have been relaxing to just spend time with your Mom without have a bunch of projects to get done.
Gayle, I agree with Charlene if you pay taxes plus homeowner's fee and utilities now I think $350 a month would be very due able. Especially if utilities were included in the rent. There wouldn't be a whole lot of difference just in me not having to pay taxes. Glad you had a nice visit with Max before he leaves for college.
Dave, glad you finally getting some much need rain.
Carol, with your forecast I would be staying home also.

Wendy=do you wear gloves when gardening? hope no more red ant bites. Yes, I wear gloves. I don't usually get them on my hands unless they get in my gloves. I choose to go barefoot, mostly because I'm more steady on my feet so they do get between my toes occasionally. Usually they crawl off before snacking. If I where cotton ankle socks and they crawl in my sneaker, they can't get out and have a feast on my ankles. If I can't avoid them barefoot is the better option. When I first moved here I thought I had athlete's feet. I didn't know they were bites. I spray them with hydrogen peroxide to heal them faster.

How typical. It's a long weekend here and the forecast is for rain off and on all day. It really doesn't make a difference to us but for those in the workforce it's a shame. Hubby decided to put off his golf game but I think as much as anything that's because somewhere along the line he managed to pull a muscle in his back. We did get out for a walk again yesterday. It was quite warm but I found it good just to be in the fresh air. And just to be different, rather than using the elevator to come back up, I used the stairs . That felt good. Later on my excitement of the day was a trip to the grocery store. Hubby decided to go to the one that is normally pretty quiet and I could go at my speed. Another win! Slowly life is returning to "normal".

Good morning, what's left of it. I've been to the dump, the po and Walmart and ate some lunch when I got home. I went to the po to mail oldest granddaughter's birthday card and when I got home I realized it was a bit too early to do that. Her birthday isn't until next Monday and she may get it this Wednesday. Maybe DS will put it up for a few days. She turns 16 this year.
Gayle, that seems reasonable for rent. I don't know about senior living places here, but normal rent is high. Is that price income based and would money from the sale of your current home affect that?
Well it's almost noon so I'll post and come back this afternoon.

Good afternoon,
We were 78* this morning & 87 now, but there is a breeze.
To answer the questions about the rent I mentioned, before I forget.. Yes it is based on income/age & the sale of my house would have no effect as with a reverse mortgage there is little to no equity.
The $350 includes water but not electric. If you break down my HOA Fees & property taxes into monthly amounts it would be less than $200 mo (I get a senior rate on property taxes. So still less than $350. The main advantage to an apt would be no maintenance.
Moving on: I stopped by WM on the way home yesterday & got some sheer panels for my front windows. I got new curtains last week & took down the shades. I thought I would get used to the bare window look during the day but I didn't. The sheers are white with a Hexagonal design embossed on them. I love the look of the printed sheers with the dark blue curtains.
Wendy, my Dr. never calls with test results if all are normal Even when I ran a Doctor's office many yrs. ago it was the same way. No news is good news.
I planted up the Verbena & Penta that I got over the weekend. I always have 2 pots in the round bed in my front yard. Usually Salvia & Petunias. This year they died out early so I pulled them & replaced with the Verbena & Penta. The soil was already pretty wet so didn't water them. It is supposed to rain tonight so they should be OK. I changed my workday to Wed. so I could be home to water tomorrow if needed.
Filled bird feeders & went for a walk with Chelsea this morning, as usual. AC guy stopped by & picked up a copy of the warranty papers. He says I may not actually get a new unit as the compressor didn't actually fail. But it is leaking refrigerant. I don't really care about a new unit as long as they honor their 12 yr. warranty on all parts. I hope they don't try to weasel out of that.
That's it for now.

Gayle, I guess with those figures I would be staying where you are. Just thinking of Molly's comment about a man she wanted on with a tool belt but knew enough to go home after dinner or something like that. LOL.
