It's 91, feels like 107 and under a storm watch. Once when I walked outside today my glasses fogged up. Haven't had that happen in a very long time.
Work tomorrow so might not get here in the morning. Have a good night.
Nice watermelon Dave. One of my favorite summer fruits. I've eaten 2 this year, but smaller ones.

Nice watermelon, Dave.
My DIL had one all cut into cubes & sent me home with a big bag of them yesterday. All I have to do is remember it's in the frig.
I paid a couple of bills this afternoon & then weeded some more of the daylily bed after the sun dropped behind the trees. I don't think I've ever seen as many weeds as there is this yr.

It is hard to believe it is just 8:00, and I am whipped! The day didn't especially go as planned. That seems to be a common theme lately. Maybe always has been and I am just now catching on? I put in a grocery order at Meijer this morning for pickup tonight. DH was out of Diet Pepsi and hitting up my adult beverage stash because, well, just because I guess. That was my cue get the ol' boy some Diet Pepsi because he almost never drinks beer. Water wasn't cutting it today for some reason. I needed a few other things so I figured I'd go the easy route with the pickup order. In theory, that was a good idea. I just didn't know that the day shift at Meijer decided to not show up for the pickup order department today. That left the afternoon crew to scramble and try to cover for them. They were woefully behind by the time I went for my 5:00 order. I don't think I got all that I ordered, but I can't prove it was their fault because the email I got didn't list the things I thought I had ordered - chiefly the dang Diet Pepsi. My order was ready just after my pickup window of 5:00-6:00, but I got 3 coupons for $10 each off my next purchases at the store for my trouble. They had to give out a lot of those today! That seemed worth my wait, but I wasn't so sure once I realized I was going to have to go out again for the Diet Pepsi. I ended up going to Kroger for that and getting a couple of other things I didn't order before. I wish I had known when I went there that I didn't get the bread either that I thought I ordered, but that was a discovery I made too late. In the end, all was well there that ended well. I got the things I needed and got DH fried chicken from their deli because I wasn't about to cook supper after all I had been through. He loved that and his deli potato salad. It was almost like his fast food he loves so much. When I got home, I am sure I gave a pharmacy intern a belly laugh when I called to make sure I wasn't going to make my day worse by cracking open an adult beverage and mixing it with any of my new medications. The dose of prednisone is still pretty high and I didn't want any new trouble, but dang, I needed to relax. LOL! He checked everything out and told me to go ahead and enjoy my beer. I told him he was my favorite person of the day. That did make him chuckle. I got a text from Nicky this morning apologizing for not getting over to the house sooner. He has been moving to a new house and overdid it with what he put his body through. I don't think he planned to come over today, but when he heard I had some daylilies for him he did come for them. He had to go to the pharmacy once his contractor showed up and left, so he stopped here on his way home. I think he was pretty happy with the daylilies. It's nice that he will have a new space to fill up and these can help with that. I'm not sure if it will happen, but he said he'd like to come back and vacuum the pool for us before my family party on the 19th. Wouldn't that be nice?!? I saved a page that Birds and Blooms had posted on FB that listed some of the best websites for buying bulbs, and I think I am going to buy some bulbs and share some of those with Nicky also. My original intent for the day of dealing with bills only went as far as paying on my hospital stay from last summer. I think I have two more payments and that will be done. That was a costly surgery and stay! Good thing the physical pain is gone. The financial sting remains a little longer. Finally, I officially committed to helping with the retreat team at church again this next year. The first planning picnic is on the 13th, so it was important to get all their ducks in a row for that. I believe I am going to try a recipe that I saw online for a cookie brownie that is filled with a Reese's peanut butter cup for my dessert contribution. Sounds pretty decadent, doesn't it? So, that has been my day. I don't think any of what I did today was in my plan. Even paying on the hospital stay wasn't on my radar this morning. Such is life. Hope the day was good to everyone. Oh, I did want to give a shoutout to Dave and his watermelon. I bought a watermelon today and it wasn't nearly as impressive as Dave's! G'night!

Karen-Glad Nicky was happy with his daylilys. I bet it was a fun surprise. Do you have an aldis near you? I have to say I have been extremely happy with the bulbs I’ve gotten there the last couple falls and the price can’t be beat. I’ve gotten crocus and daffodils and have had great success with them. My mom got tulips and she was also very happy. They bloomed great. I have bought lily bulbs there and dahlia tubers in the spring with amazing results. Just a thought.

Yes, we do have an Aldi's not too far away. I didn't think of them for bulbs. Great idea! Thank you. Once again, you put me on the path to happy gardening! 😊🌷🌹🌸 Any time I can get great bulbs and not pay shipping it is awesome. I think it was a really happy surprise to Nicky to get the fans. He said that he doesn't like gifts, but he does enjoy flowers and adding to his collection of rocks. I wouldn't know how to deal with the rocks thing, but I can definitely keep surprising him with flower stuff.

Good night all. Hope those that haven't checked in had a good day. It's 84° at 10:20 pm. I'm going to post now as my friend sent a text saying she will pick me up at 7:30am. Three of us are going to the gulf to the beach and then shopping. We will be gone all day.
The doctor visit was as I thought so no phone call meant no worry. I do have a cyst on my kidney and she's not happy with the output but it hasn't changed so she's not concerned. Yet. I did gain two pounds but I've been so inactive because of the heat so I'm not worried.
Tonight was Mexican Train domino night and then Zoom stitching with my gf in NY. Our other friend was at her church for VBS, Vacation Bible School. We had a nice visit.
Nice watermelon Dave. Our watermelons season ended in June. Mango season just finished. Soon it will be time to grow tomatoes and beans.
Karen, another episode of the days of your life. I'm glad you didn't have to cook after that. Hope the rest of your day was well.
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
