Good morning All...................hi Dave.....
55 this morning and 82 later. Weekend has come and gone again. I see this month is about half over too. Now that our town celebration is done, we feel like the summer is about gone. Kids starts back to school next week i think too. Town will be really quiet today after the celebration.
Not sure i will do today. I know after sitting around and doing nothing all weekend, i will find something to do. lol I do need to catch up on reading on here. Haven't done that since last week.
Have a good Monday everyone..............................larry

Have a good day!

Good morning.
I think the high will be 86 today but not sure about the humidity.
I am going to try to get in for an eye appointment after work. I can't see a darn thing with the old glasses I have now.
After that I will work at cleaning up the beds again but first I need to stop and get more deet spray.
Time to start work.

Good morning everyone! Back to work today. It's about 68 out now and supposed to go into the 80's later.
It does seem like summer is over. Hate to say it but there are hardly any birds chirping and you can hear the crickets. Pretty soon will stop deadheading flowers and start collecting seeds.
Have a good day.

Surely it's too soon for summer to be over! Our temp was only 61 early this morning and it felt so good. Should get up to around 80 later in the day and with all the rain we had in Saturday I expect it to be quit humid. The grass is starting to get a slight 'green'. look to it once again. That means the mowers will be back in us again soon. I swear hubby has cut our grass in easily a month. The weeds will abound again soon too so there will be lots of gardening to do. Maybe it can wait until the Olympics are over.

Good morning. I need to get DGS ready and off to daycare so I can mow. Then I hope to get my hair cut. I'll come back here when I get all that done. Have a nice day.

Good morning everyone
A busy weekend for me, went to my nephews wedding on Saturday and then home, my sister sent a text yesterday to say she was taking my mother to the hospital. They kept her overnight, she had a mild case of CHF. Said her breathing is better and she is not as congested. Will wait to hear how she is today. I am off in a few minutes to go watch my grandsons.
The humidity did drop last night and it was 70 when I got up and walked the dog this morning. Does not look like it is to be as hot today but we will see.
Well I must run...

Good morning. Listening to some annoying bird outside right now. Not sure if its a grackle or some other type of black bird, but its loud and it won't stop! lol Sounds like a pig with a sore throat! Its 55 outside here and looks like it will be mostly cloudy. Not much breeze right now so may need to wait a bit to pick beans or the mosquitoes will carry me off. Hopefully we'll get a bit of sun and wind mid morning. There are a ton of them out there. I picked enough last night for supper and they are big. I also have a head of cauliflower ready so will pull that plant. Its a new purple variety I got this year called purple of sicilly (totally spelled that wrong). Unlike the purple I've grown in the past this one is supposed to get darker purple when cooked (as opposed to almost grey and fairly gross looking like the old kind). I have some banana peppers that are the biggest I've ever seen, and several ripe tomatoes too. It will be a day of gardening and canning and not much else. I want to pull some of the big beets before the mice eat them as well.
Thats about my excitement for the day. Have to take dd to volleyball practice at 3. Dh will pick her up after when he gets off work.
Hope its a great day for all.

Good Morning all...it is another almost 100 degree day here, it is so humid it is almost impossible to breathe outside. This has been the hottest summer in years and I am so tired of being cooped up in the house! There is so much that needs attention outside but almost impossible to stay out there long enough to get it all done. I sse some new names on the board and I am happy to welcome them! Time to get some things done inside then I need to get to the store, I am almost out of a lot of things including dog food. That would be a disaster:)) Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning everyone...same weather as Larry..lol. Yes, the town is and will be quiet today. We had a great crowd again this year. The weather was perfect Sat & Sun. Since it is always the 2nd weekend in Aug we have had years when it is so hot and humid and actually a couple years when it has been quite chilly...especially for the evening events.
I am not sure again what I will be doing today. I know I need to pick tomatoes. I was hoping that Lily would come by yesterday and I would have sent some with her, but I didn't see her.
All of this talk about summer being at an end kind of makes me sad. I usually deadhead until Labor day and that leaves time for most plants to get seeds for next year. I an already making plans for what I want to start more of for next year and for what I may not start at all.
Ez...love your little book quotes you share. Sonny...hope your Mom is doing better. Molly nice to see you here this morning. Waving at everyone else and wishing you a great Monday. Charlene

I just read the chit chat and want to make a couple remarks. Lily will only be 5 miles from me and the library she will use is in our town. I can help her with the link and I have also told her that she could use our computer...I'd just log out and she could log in. Hope she takes me up on that offer because I'd love for her to stop by.
Karen...you know that the Field of Dreams site is about 5 miles from Lair? Sure hope you can make a trip to Iowa. We'd love to have you here. It would be so nice to see you again. Charlene

Good morning all.
Any day that starts out unplugging a stopped up toilet can only get better. At least I saved myself the cost of a plumber!
Terrible heat will continue here today and will be worse tomorrow, they are saying. I hope to get out for a badly needed haircut today. I'm eyeing the scissors and I know that would be a major mistake!
Hope all have a great day!

Good morning everyone. Thunderstorm came in and finally got a decent rain. Had to shut down and unplug the laptop and modem do to lightning. Everything seems so much brighter. Guess its from washing the dust off. LOL. Have a great day

Good morning! After a 3 day reprieve from the heat, looks like it's back again. I am still waiting for the electrician to install a fan in my bedroom. The portable A/C cannot cover the entire house.
My DGS is still with me, and might stay until tomorrow. This afternoon I'm planning to take him to the pool.
In the meantime I will do a bit of weeding. Too bad the weeds just don't disappear by themselves...fat chance.
Have a nice day!
