Thought I would get this started so everyone can add to it when they drop by.
Not a thing going on in my little corner of the world. It's been a really bad pain day for me so just hanging out watch US & Canada play Basketball in the Olympics.
Temp went up even higher than I posted earlier. Unreal.
Charlene - I replied to your comment about Rick.
Well I will be on my way and hopefully can stop by later. Waving to all :)

Hi Donna....I just lost a post that was in detail. Sorry about that! How sad is it that you have to be in constant pain. Sure wish you could be pain free. Not sure what is happening with Rick. An update would be appreciated.
Yes, I did go shopping with my friend/neighbor. We stopped at Michaels. I made these scrunshie scarfs for my nieces in Greece. Now I have an order for 5 more...lol. We also stopped at Super C, and on to the pet store. I needed more BOSS seeds, and Elle Cid got a new bowl for her food. Of course she already has 2....hee, hee....spoiled kitty. More knitting tonight!

Hey Stella, glad you didn't melt out there!! I know both of your fur - babies are spoiled but that's ok :) Can you believe that next month will be one year that our dear sweet Penny passed away! Still miss her so much. As for Rick I didn't explain what I said correctly in the VIP post. His collapsed lung was years ago not now. He still struggles daily Stella as I do as well BUT we are still blessed and just continue to help each other with what needs to be done. Thank you for asking. Your knitting was a big hit in Greece I see. I know you love making things for others. Enjoy your evening with your friend/neighbour.

Good early evening or late afternoon everybody.
Donna, I was glad to see this because I was about to start one myself. Been busy today so late getting here.
Home late last night, very late to bed so slept in this morning. Hot & humid here too but there is a breeze.
Ended up not having to work today so I've been catching up. Got everything watered (with the sprinkler). Cleaned the HB feeders, made more food for them & filled them, along with regular bird feeders.
Got rid of 2 hanging baskets that were beyond help, the heat & not enough water had them looking pretty much dead. I was very surprised to also find them root bound when I pulled them out.
It sure is great having my AC back again; house was actually cold when I got home last night. I made a French Drain for it this afternoon. I had one in place for the other one but this one drains from the opposite side so had to make a new one.
I know I did more than that, but I don't remember what. I still have laundry to put away.
The deer have feasted on my Hosta either last night or the night before so time to spray those again & some things need to be sprayed with fungicide. Phlox & Honeysuckle for sure.
I'll try to remember to do thst when I get up from here.

We are almost to dh's moms. Traffic in Mpls is awful and makes me appreciate living in a small town. Not as hot today, but humid and overcast, and a bit of rain. The waterfalls at the state park were pretty. Did a short hike there. Stopped at a huge candy store on the way home, MNs largest. Had a huge variety of candy, old time candy, and some from other countrys too. Got some coffee crisps, which our Canadian friends can tell you are amazing!
Donna- sorry your pain is bad today. Hopefully the heat will pass quickly there.
Stella- so nice you have such a good friend to do things with. Your fur kids are lucky to have you.
A block away! Yippee! Bbl!

Good evening.
We got a total of 2 inches of rain yesterday and last night and a few minutes ago it started to rain again but just a very light rain so I'm sure it won't amount to much but anything on top of the 2 inches is better than nothing.
Stella I plan on getting a couple of those scarves this winter. They are very pretty but I'm sure yours are better quality than what you buy in stores.
Donna sorry about your pain. Do certain things trigger it to be worse than other times? Every few months I get racked with pain in my shoulders, hips and every inch of my legs and feet. The pain will last anywhere from a few days to a few months. Last night it started again and I got no sleep last night and had a hard time working with it today. Alleve doesn't help at all. I have never gone to the doctor for it as I have to be practically on my death bed before I finally give in and go, lol.
Melissa since I am a coffee addict those coffee crisps sound interesting, what exactly are they?
Gayle, yippee you have air again!
Not going to do anything productive tonight but will start early tomorrow morning cutting back and pulling some of the plants and start tackling some of those weeds.

Just have a few minutes right now but being Canadian I 'd respond about Coffe Crisp chocolate bars. They are one of my favorites. This is a description from Wikipedia: "Coffee Crisp is a chocolate bar made in Canada. It consists of alternating layers of vanilla wafer and a foamed coffee-flavoured soft candy, covered with a milk chocolate outer layer." And this is what they look like. Ok, likely more than you wanted to know! LOL

You might have to go to Minneapolis like Melissa did! 😊 I wonder if they could be ordered online. I have never looked. One would think being neighboyring countries & the same companies selling these candy treats that they'd be available everywhere. I'm aware of different bars that are not in the US. Smarties here & M&M's there is one other example off the top of my head.

Hi Kathy, so sorry about your pain. I always have pain but things that make it worse are damp weather and humidity like we have been having for what seems like forever. If I overdo (which isn't often because I really can't) then more ouchies. You really should have it checked. OTC meds like Aleve and such do nothing for me.
I cannot stand the smell or taste of coffee but oh my Kathy Coffee Crisp chocolate bars are so yummy. Glad Angela showed you a pic.... :)
Gayle, so happy to hear you have a/c again. Sorry the deer are using your hostas as their dinner.
Melissa, glad you are safely at your DH's Mom's. Enjoy your treats.
Waving to Angela, hello my Canadian neighbour :)
We are in a line of storms but it's very windy so might blow over.

Good evening. Donna, I'm sorry you are in such pain. My sciatica has been a bear lately and nothing helps. I probably should go to a chiropractor but just don't have the money right now. I had to go to my doctor today for my thyroid check so mentioned it to her. She had given me a muscle relaxer years ago. Today I felt like I was walking out with prescriptions for half of a pharmacy. In addition to the muscle relaxer she gave me prednisone and some other anti inflammatory meds since otc meds don't help. And then of course my thyroid and cholesterol meds. I will get the muscle relaxers filled but not sure about side effects of the prednisone and other meds. After sitting in her office for a while today hasn't been a great day pain wise. But I know yours is much worse.
I didn't do much else today and DGS and I are already in my bed watching Nick Jr shows. After the week I had at work, I'm hoping I can sleep in tomorrow, even though I should get out early and pull weeds before it gets too hot.
Kathy, glad you got some rain.
Charlene, we were hot and dry, not having any rain for weeks and 100 degree temps. But 2 weeks ago it decided to rain, and has several times a week since. My grass has gone from a crunchy dead brown to green and growing. I will probably wait till Monday to mow, though.
Melissa, I love waterfalls but haven't been on any waterfall hikes in quite a few years. North Carolina has some nice ones.
Have a good night.

Angela, I think I just gained half of that 8 lbs the dr told me I had lost in the last 6 months just looking at that pic. I'm a coffee lover too. It runs in my family. We all got it from my mom.

I usually don't go into the candy department since I am not a candy eater. Now baked sweets is another story, lol.

Leslie, your pain is as real as mine. Mine is no worse than yours. We all have to deal with it however we can. I do hope the meds give you some relief. I have no side effects with the Prednisone but everyone is different. Pain is pain and it's a pain in the butt!!!! We are still blessed though. :)
Love being able to scroll down and see what others have said, even though I still forget the minute I have read it lol

Have had a quick supper. Friday night is often pancakes but tonight bacon & eggs. This Friday menu goes back to when Ray worked & this was my night off from cooking.
Donna, I feel for you and all your pain. I can relate somewhat as I have RA though I'm not bothered by the weather. I can only imagine how difficult it has been with the extremes of weather you have had. Hopefully things improve soon. Hauling all the water outside must have been beyond difficult!
Stella, have a great evening with your neighbour. You've got a very firm friendship & similar likes. How nice is that!
Gayle, you must be relaxing in your nice cool house. What a rotten last few weeks trying to be cool & making arrangements for a new system. Thank goodness it finally came together for you.
Melissa, have nice visit at your Mom's. What a busy & hot week you've had but such a memory making time for you & the kiddos.
Kathy, bet you'd love Coffee Crisps. They are yummy & they are in so many packs of Hlloween treats, you know, those mini bars! Glad you finally got rain though maybe a bit late in the season. Would be nice if your plants perked up after all your hard work. I agree with Donna you ought to see a doctor. There are better meds than Aleve especially when your pain goes on for months.
Leslie, I hear you about all the meds. I feel like I must own at least half of the pharmacy by now. Sciatica is nasty. I have been experiencing that lately & not fun at all. I take low doses of Prednisone all the time. Not too many side effects at this level. Lets hope you get some relief & no side effects!
Sure hope I haven't missed anyone. Guess it's time to unload & load the dishwasher instead of sitting here as much fun as it is.😊
