Good morning All..................Hi Dave.....
69 this morning and a high of 80 today. I haven't checked to see how much rain we got but i think it went south of us. That was alright. We got an inch yesterday morning so that will do us. All the rain barrels are full. lol
Not sure what i will do first today. I need to mow but will be awhile before the grass in dry.
Everything looks good for our town festival so don't have to worry about that.
Hope you all have a good Friday.......................larry

Good morning Larry and all who follow. Still very hot and humid here . It's draining my energy quick that's for sure. DD and I went swimming after work yesterday the lake was just wonderful might just go today also.
I think I have a raccoon in the garage I have 2 overhead garage doors and a wall in between them. You can see driveway stone for the bed of the garage well something dug all driveway stone up in the garage. So last night I brought the bird seed in the house but haven't seen any thing yet. I may set my trap up to catch whatever it is. I have had enough of the wild life this summer.
Glad today is Friday and hope to get my lawn mower back today or tomorrow. I need to mow badly. Stay cool and have a good day.

Good morning all. As Sandy mentioned another hot 90degree day. We are now considered to be in severe drought. I'm so glad my weekend started today. Even though I didn't have to get ready for work this morning, I was up before 5 and sat outside to watch the sun come up. Since this is the only day I have off this summer, I may as well enjoy every minute.
Sandy, I can't remember the last time I thought about the lawn mower. The grass is all brown and definitely not needing to be mowed anytime soon. Hope you can trap your critter. With this drought, do you think water would attract it?
The AC guy is coming today to fix my a.c. Thankfully it's working but water is leaking all over the basement floor and he says he needs to replace a part.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone. We got only 1/4 of an inch of rain last night and didn't get the storms predicted...so that is good.
I am not sure what I will do 1st today. There are lots of last minute things to get done before the weekend. The festival actually starts tonight with entertainment on main street. DGD is singing some time this weekend, but not sure if it is tonight or tomorrow night.
In addition to all that is going on here this weekend, my niece is getting married at 7:30 tomorrow night. She actually got married in Japan in April, but they are having a ceremony here with family and friends. I will go to the ceremony...give my congrats and then head back home. It is a good thing it is only ½ hr from here. Her husband doesn't speak much english, so I doubt I will visit with him much since I do speak Japanese....lol.
Kathy...thanks...w will have a good time I'm sure. Larry doesn't go downtown to much, but I do since I enjoy visiting with people I haven't seen for a while.
I sure hope you can get those critters under control in your yard, Sandy. You've had quite a battle with them this year.
Wendy...enjoy your day off! I sure hope you guys can get some much needed rain soon.
Ez...supposedly our heat and humidity are out of here for a few days. You try to stay cool and hydrated today. Have a great day everyone. Charlene

Good morning. It looks lovely outside with the sun shining so brightly, but I know it doesn't feel nearly as nice as it looks. Today should be a carbon copy of the past few - hot and humid. The two small rain showers we got yesterday perked things up just a little bit around here. Our rain has been sparse this year, but I cannot complain since others like our NY friends have had it so much worse.
Well, I saw more stars last night (and half a dozen airplanes) than I have any of the other nights we have gone out, but not one of them were shooting, and the total number of stars was still very low. It was way too cloudy. I tried to lay back in the lounge chair that DH got out for me, but it sits so low that I wasn't able to safely lower myself into it, so I sat with my neck tipped back when I could stand it. It was still warm and humid even after 11 pm so we didn't stay outside more than a half an hour or so. If I had seen just one shooting star I'd probably have stayed out longer waiting to see the next one, but under the sky conditions we had, it wasn't worth it. DSis#3 is the one who alerted me to the Perseid meteor shower when she said she and her DH saw quite a few of them earlier in the week. I kept having to remind myself each night as I searched the night sky that they live in a rural setting and I am in a suburb with street lights everywhere. They can sit on their back deck and overlook a field as far back as one can see. It only makes sense that they would have better viewing opportunities than we do. Oh well ... so much for my celestial enjoyment this time. I'm sure something else interesting will come up before I know it. Maybe my viewing will be better then.
I don't really have any plans for the day. There's plenty I SHOULD do; I just need to prioritize things first. I think I am going to sit down and answer a couple of emails that I have needed to do for a bit now, and I'll also finish up the one I started to DSon. It is rare for me to have so much happening that I leave an email unfinished to him. After I do that, I'll do whatever strikes my fancy.
Sandy, I am sure you have had enough of wildlife for the summer. Good luck catching your critter!
Enjoying every minute of your day off is the way to go, Wendy. It's too bad you couldn't have slept in, but lucky you getting to see the sun rise. I'll bet it was gorgeous.
Ezdoesit, we are right there with you for another hot day today. I am hoping, though, that we may cool down over the weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Wishing relief to you, too, SOON.
Well, I think I am going to go see what else happened here while I was away. I changed my settings (with Bette's help) so I am not getting emails for every single thread I participate in. That was fun at first when the board was new, not so much by yesterday. LOL! With the change in my settings, though, I could have easily missed something so I am off to explore the board. Have a fantastic Friday, folks!
Hi Charlene! I knew I would miss someone while I was typing. Your plans sound like fun! It should be exciting getting to hear your DGD sing in public again. Did she ever try out for The Voice? Enjoy your niece's wedding celebration. How nice for the couple to have a ceremony in Japan and one here! It's the best of both worlds.

Good morning all
I am watching the g-kids again today. Their mother works from home but the two oldest can't be left to their own devices. Boys will be boys I guess.
At the home that we built my husband made me a bird feeding station. It attracted lots of birds. Once had a baby robin that someone must have hand raised and turned loose. It wanted to come in the house but I said no. It must have heard the boys in the basement because the next morning I had to leave it out of the chimney. It followed us around and whenever I was weeding it was right there to get the bugs. It decided when it was grownup enough to move on. It was a great experience.
Well need to check the boys its quiet upstairs

Although, I have not been so excited when we have had sparrows get in through our chimney. I tend to freak out when birds are trapped anywhere. It's why we got rid of our small greenhouse at our other house. The sparrows kept getting in through the window vents, which I HATED!

Good Morning All, it looks like another scorcher again today like yesterday. Because of some back problems will have to go to a chiro appointment later in the day. This has been weekly for about a month now. It seems to be helping so will continue. i am restricted in how much I can lift so this limits me somewhat in how much housework I can do. I do have some help with that and am not as fussy as I use to be.
I am still trying to figure out how to get on Lizzie's sight. Since I was unable to sign in there after the last change, I can't PM her. The link they have listed doesn't take me to the sight.
Any help would be appreciated.
I hope all have a super day.
Joyce

Joyce...I do not know about that site. Maybe someone else has the link. You could go to TOH and PM Lizzie. I bet she still checks there and will respond to you and give you some help. Charlene

Good morning. I'll post more later when I get on the pc. Another hot one here also. Wendy, wish I could send you a little of our rain. My grass was dead, but the past 2 weeks we have had several storms. So now it needs mowing really bad but too wet. We had 2 storms yesterday. I hope I can mow in the morning. I would have today but by the time it would have been dry enough I would have to be getting ready for a dr appt. Hopefully DGS #2 will cooperate if I mow tomorrow. If not then, then maybe while he is at daycare Monday. I'll check back later.

Good morning. Will keep this short as typing on my phone is getting old!
Had some rain last night here but we were in the cabin so it was fine. Kids watched a movie and we read. Today we will go see the waterfalls here, also the bison drive, then pack up to head out. Still extremely humid here. Will have a ton of laundry to do once we get to dh's moms in Mpls. We are about 2 hours from there. We have 10 wet towels and they are really starting to smell. Won't dry in the wet air. Yuck!
Hope whatever you do today its great!

Good Morning. I worked hard all day yesterday and knew I'd be sorry today. I just don't feel like moving today. My friend, Kay, is coming at noon and bringing a light lunch. That's good, as there is no food here! Just some Boost to drink, maybe that's why I'm so tired, haven't eaten much. Not really much to do now. Oven cleaned itself, but needs wiping out. Can't do the freezer or fridge until tomorrow. DIL brought 2 coolers in which to put the foods, but with this heat, waiting till they can take it over to their place, even filling them with ice and frozen, not sure how long we can trust them! Will scrub the kitchen floor today and then just swing a damp mop over it before I leave for the last time. Probably wash it with my tears! :'(
It feels muggy again today. Not helping me with any ambition. Better get dressed and moving before my friend arrives.
Lily (I do like the print here, no squinting at the small print at times!)

Good morning everyone! Yes, the temperature rose to 104* according to the thermometer on my patio. We did get some rain overnight, but now they predict a storm. This will surely help the grass/plants.
I promised my friend/neighbor to take her to the pet store to purchase bags of dog food for her Labrador. She will be going away for 2 weeks, and wants to make sure the dog sitter does not run out of dog food. This evening it's our Friday night knitting session. In between it's up for grabs.
Larry, maybe with a rain dance it would help your flower beds and lawn...lol Kathy, these days there does not seem to be enough rain to help the grass...here too. Sunshine, when the A/C is out of order, during this heat wave it's 'painful'. Hope everything gets back to normal after the repairman does the job. ezdoesit.... 8-) feeling hot, hot, hot. Charlene, love weddings. Wish I had more to go to. Won't be for a long time. My grandkids are very young. Karen, while in Greece, my son would pull out his tablet at night and kept looking at the stars. He claims that he saw Mars....hmmmm...must be the wine....lol Carol...yes boys will be boys....always active and into mischief.....lol Joyce, take care of that back. Such a shame that as we get older it's either the back or legs that give us trouble. Leslie, good thing your grass is wet...here it turned brown....! Melissa, sounds like a wonderful nature trip. Sure there is always the cleaning up at the end....don't I know it. I just finished mine after the 3 weeks I was away. Lily, courage my friend....you can still have wonderful memories of years past...prayers.
Well I'll be off now. Have a good day!
