Just went to say good morning but it's after 12 now so Good Afternoon friends.

Ugh, Stella our weather situation is very close 106 with heat index. If you open the door it's like a sauna out there so guess what? I am not going to open the door again lol. Since Rick has had a collapsed lung he is not able to venture out either. Gosh we are prisoners in our own home.

Nice to see so many posting.

I decided to pull everything out of the closet in the spare room so now I have to sort and put back what I want to keep. Where does all this stuff come from?? Gosh there is only 2 of us. Who knows when I will get this project done but I have all the time in the world and more :)

Lily...I am sure there will be a few tears shed when you leave your home...and we all understand that.  Try to smile and think of it as a new chapter in your life.  I bet you wish you could go directly to the apt rather than 1 month with DIL, though.  If you 2 get to fighting to bad, just drive to town...we have an extra bed....lol.  Hope to see you Sunday.  Does your DS have a landline?  Otherwise to get a message to you it would have to go through Terri on FB...her and Larry became friends on there when you were in the hospital.
Leslie...didn't know that you were getting so much rain.  I am thinking that mowing while DGS is at daycare is the best idea.

Melissa...this humidity does really suck, doesn't it?  At least it has been overcast this morning, so it is only 80, but right now here comes the sun...OH NO.  Enjoy your day.

Stella...the heat and humidity certainly does get old doesn't it?  the weather guys said that our humidity was supposed to be gone today, but they were wrong.

Donna...I bet you do feel like you are in prison, but better to be in there than outside in those kind of conditions.  Sorry to hear that Rick has a collapsed lung.  That has got to be miserable for him.

Good afternoon everyone. I was real busy this morning. Kinda cool & a gentle breeze, so I decided to uproot a couple small trees that were just dying. Can't stand to see something in stress. Took till 11;30am to get that & cleaning out few beds,all done. Now I'm tired & ready to start watching Olympics. Tonight we are going out for supper with our oldest son, his wife & DGD to celebrate her going away to college at U.T. Martin. She is very excited. 93º now & we really need rain. Yard looks like piece of sand paper. Oh well, this too will pass. Sometime. Take care & have good rest of the day. Happy Gardening, NanaTnZone6

Finally got here today to meet all our (my) new friends.

It would be nice if everyone would tell where they are from. I don't have a clue and love to know your weather etc.

I'm from Long Island, New York and that's not hard to figure out. We live on the south shore on the Great South Bay. Our barrier Island is Fire Island and then the Atlantic Ocean.

As most of you know, this year it was difficult to get in my gardens. Low and behold the other day I as admiring the prettiest flower in the rear of the garden. Wondered what "weed" made such a beauty. Well, at least 25 years ago we planted a beautiful Hibiscus. Faithfully cut it down each autumn and then it was gone. Yes indeed , it's back!!! Figure that one out.

That's my excitement for the day. Like all of you, it is stifling out side.

Until we newbies get to know all the folks here, could you mention what state you are in? I am in west Texas and being in a drought, I like to know where folks live who are getting rain, having high temps and before too awfully long....how much snow! Would be great. Thanks.

Linylady if you look at the top of the page where the different threads are listed there is a folder that says "My Story" that is where you can find out everyones story and add yours also.

I am from Lancaster PA and we just had a rain storm got about an inch of rain. Wonderful hope some more of you can get some also.
