Good morning All.........
Did Charlene answer your question Dave about starting all over?
68 this morning and dew points are about the same so it is sticky. 88 for later with a light breeze.
Not sure what i will end up doing. Getting ready for the weekend i would imagine. Charlene wants to do a walk around the yard this morning and see what we can get rid of. RE: Some milk weed that is done blossoming, etc.
Hope you all have a good day today what ever you do.......................larry

Good morning Larry and Dave and everyone who will follow.
We will be 95° today with the heat index of over 105° with a 30 mile an hour wind. At least there will be a breeze even though it will be a hot one.
I think I will only work six hours today and probably the rest of the week will be the same. It will just be too hot to work further into the day.
I hope everyone here at work want tomatoes and cucumbers because I brought a large bag of each to try to get rid of.
Have a great day.

Good morning all. There was a wild thunderstorm overnight with much needed rain. My flowers got a huge drink. Yesterday I had just about given up. Being too tired after work to join a futile hose brigade, I resigned myself to just let them be.
I finalized some details about the kitchen over the phone. Next step will be discussing a start date and get used to swallowing debt again.
Oh well. I can only say, I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go. Have a great day all.

Good morning. 63 this morning and overcast. You could get some showers today. My deck was wet this morning but only .03" in the gauge. Yesterday was work then had to make a quick stop at the market for dog food and some adult beverage. The necessary things in life. Stopped by the community gardens and picked my first tomatoes. Dinner last night was a tomato sandwich. It was sooooooo good. They are not the best looking tomatoes due to neglect. There won't be many either due to the weather.
Tonight after work I plan on going to the community garden and watering if we don't get rain. It is hard to believe it is so dry when we had over an inch of rain just over a week ago. Went out to check the vegetable garden here and my cukes were wilted. Not sure if it was because they were dry or something else. Had to fix a hose before I could water. It seems I forgot and left a hose on and it split from the pressure caused by the heat of the sun. Had to put a band-aid on it. I don't think I have a female end for a hose and was too tired to mess with the operation anyway. Wrapped the area good and tight with electricians tape then with clear packing tape. It actually worked. Ran the sprinkler for over an hour and I couldn't see any leaks.
Have a great day.
Bet

Good morning. Coffee is almost done and I may be drooling! It is warm already here and very humid. 72 and 96% humidity and it's not even 7. Thankfulky we brought 3 small and 1 large fan so sleeping was fine. They shoukd have a/c in these cabins but don't. We are planning to leave by 8 to head to blue mounds state park. Gonna be hot, hot, hot, especially for hiking and exploring. We will just make the most out of it.
I see its raining at home. My mom texted me last night that at home we could get 7.5" in the next 2 days. My word! It just won't stop! I really hope it gets it out of its system before winter or we will have ALOT of snow.
Guess I better get lunch packed and kids up. Thats the hardest part! Have a great day.

Bette my hoses are starting to split too but not because I have left water on so must be from the intense heat. I have tried fixing hoses before the way yo did and it never worked so looks like I will be investing in new ones next year.
Hope Melissa and family are ready for this heat today if they are going hiking
First thing this morning I had to take a drug test. They have random tests about every 3 months. My second one in 3 years. I do not feel comfortable handing some guy a bottle of my pee at all!

Good morning all. I have a few minutes before DGS wakes up. He's been here a lot and I won't turn on the computer or tablet when he's here. He wants to watch videos and gets mad when you take it away. Went to see baby yesterday. She's doing well. DD is having the typical first time mom stuff. Oh Charlene!! Her name is Addalyn, same as your niece's only spelled different. How funny is that??!!
We are heading into a steam bath for the next few days, HHH !! Mom knee surgery went well but she's not doing so good. She's so confused. I'm a bit worried. I hope its just the meds. She'll probably be moved to a rehab center tomorrow Better get off of here before DGS wakes up. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone. It is truly a hazy morning...so hazy I can hardly see across the street right now. I think later in the day we will be fighting heat along with this humidity....but....the forecast for the weekend is fabulous and it is Sweet Corn Days festival in our town. We are a town of 500 and this weekend there will be 4 to 6 thousand people.
Dave...you're welcome. Did you get my email? I see you did start a new thread, so you must have everything figured out. Enjoy the fair. We aren't fair goers.
Kathy...sounds like you've got some very hot weather again...same here but "they" say it will be short lived. I also hav been looking for people to give tomatoes to...DDIL runs the other way now when I walk over there with tomatoes...lol.
Wendy ...so glad you got some rain at last. The money you spend on the kitchen will bring you pleasure and be returned when you sell the house, so think of it as an investment.
Bette....I have been having tomato sandwiches for lunch every noon for several weeks now...I just love them!
Melissa...I saw this morning that the northern part of MN is covered in green/yellow/red. Boy I cannot believe all the rain you've been getting. I hope you guys have a fun day hiking....stay hydrated!
Lair...something to say and the cat got your tongue? LOL
Sue...so your DGD and my great-great niece are birthday twins with the same name? How cool is that? I truthfully am not sure on how they are spelling it...I just guessed. Often on older people it takes a while for the anesthesia to get out of their system so they are confused...give it time.
Liny....I want to reach into this computer and give you a big ole hug!!! So glad you got here. I am keeping your password so if you have problems in the future, I can help you out. Take care.
Sandy...great that you got rain as well. Plants respond so much better from a rain than from watering. Hope everyone has a great day...sure others have posted while I've been going on and on...so good morning to them as well. Charlene

Good Morning. Boy, there is a heavy fog out my windows yet. I woke at 6:30 and it was rolling in and won't be clear for some time yet, according to the weatherman.
Larry, it is sticky here too, that's our penalty for no A/C!
Kathy, good idea to leave work early!
Good attitude, Sunshiney! Bet, can you believe I've had no fresh garden veggies this year. Need to stop at an Amish place!
Melissa, I'm confused with your new name and miss your "froggie" sig.
Anky, sweet baby, but sorry to see the spelling of her name. Long story, but I used to write for the paper and odd spellings were a headache then and worse now.
So glad to see Liny made it here. How is DH, email me!

Good morning. It is so fabulous to see so many friends posting here this morning! The switch to our own forum really has been terrific, hasn't it? Old friends are able to join us again, and we are making a lot of nice new friends also. I LOVE it!
Like just about everyone else, we are hot and humid right now. I guess we are lucky in that we are not hazy also. I don't even want to know what the exact forecast is for the day. All I know is that with the heat index factored in, today and tomorrow are going to be horrible - over 100°. Last I heard, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we should be decent again. This air you can wear is getting old!
I need to go out and water my pots this morning. I wish we would get a nice pop-up rain shower, but I am not going to count on that. Every great once in a while I will water early in the day, and then later on we will get some rain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that to happen either today or tomorrow. We have been so dry around here that the ants just keep coming in the house looking for moisture. Before bed last night I hauled the kitchen waste basket out to the garage because I was finding ants crawling on the kitchen counter and the waste basket. This morning DH took it out in the yard and washed it really well. We've decided that any sort of food remnants will either go down the garbage disposal IMMEDIATELY, or out in the garbage cans in the garage until things change. I am not one who likes to spray chemicals anywhere, let alone in my house, but I have just about had all I can take of the ants! The traps either aren't working, or they are not working well enough.
Today is my day to volunteer at the memorabilia museum so I am going to have to go outside at least a couple of times today. I am SO grateful that the curator always has the A/C on when we get there! I doubt we'd be very efficient without it on days like today.
Again, it is nice to see so many here today. I really want to comment on everything but I don't have the time right now. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
