Great news Charlene, Liny & I haven't met yet, I was only able to read when she joined us.
Another very hot & humid day today with each day getting hotter. I will just keep on hiding in the house.
It is a pain getting the water from inside to out but not much we can do about it. The rain keeps missing us just like Kathy. It has poured 15 minutes from our house several times now. I guess all the clouds didn't get gased up :)
I better get us something to eat and then we will just chill and watch the Olympics.
Waving to everyone that stops by. So glad to see that our Lilly made it here....
Have a peaceful evening everyone......

Good evening, it must be evening somewhere. Maybe I'm rushing this but I am bored and it is too humid for me to be doing anything outside. If I stepped on someone toes let me know. How has your day been and what are the plans for your evening? Myself I went out ad scared some weeds telling them their days are numbered. Hopefully they will give up and die. It has never worked before but these weeds seem real stupid. This evening just watching a movie Tim brought home. It is a funny one with Melisa McCartney, if that's her name but if not she makes me laugh. Well, that's it for me. Lair

Hello Charlene, Donna, and all who follow. Yes it was a hot day here as well. While weeding I thought my head would explode from the heat of the sun. Of course I neglected to wear a hat....hmmm.
Glad to see you posting Donna.
I gave up weeding after a couple of hours. I haven't really cooked much this past week so I decided to make a veggie/beef/and a can of 6 bean types adding a tomato jar....It tasted great.
I called my friend/neighbor to see if she wanted to go to the pool. Loved it. I did my 44 laps walking with equals to a kilometer. I'll pay for that tomorrow.
Knitting and the Olympics this evening.

Charlene, so glad you managed to get Liny registered. Now just hope she will post. We have been cyber friends for several years and would hate to lose contact, especially now!
My 2 youngest sons came back to finish any packing in my DH's former shop (woodworking) and our cruddy basement. Now they are going back to work. The youngest will be heading to El Paso, TX with cattle and the other just short trips, as he wants to be home on Monday when I sign the final papers on our place I have a 3rd older son, who is physically handicapped and lives in Tomah, Wi and can't drive, so don't see him often.
I cleaned the upstairs, but sure can't work hard much anymore. This morning I took a quick trip to a hairdressing school in an adjoining town to get my hair cut. That trip and a stop at the grocery store wore me out! Tomorrow I'm going to lunch with ladies from my Church circle and then my friend is coming back here to help me clean.
Karen, thank you for the hugs, and YES, I did feel them! LOL Sure wish we had smilies! The past 3 months have been nervewracking with all that happened and once I get moved I hope I can just sit and relax - and post here all day! LOL
Enjoy the evening, LILY

Good evening.
Not really anything going on to talk about in my life today but wanted to stop in and say hey.
I am not even sure what the temp is or was but I don't think it felt as hot as they were saying we would get.
Good to see Donna with us each day, to see Molly on the VIP and that Liny has made it here.
The more I see about the Sturgis bike rally on TV I wish I would have gone along with my cousin on his bike when he invited me but I don't like being a passenger on a bike. I, many moons ago, used to ride a 650 Norton all chopped out that my then husband and I had bought and it was fun as long as I was the one riding it and not the passenger.
Going to fix some bacon, eggs and hashbrowns for supper and then go pick cukes and tomatoes.

Good evening everyone! Had a lovely relaxing day. My company left at noon and spent all the time since on the internet. Was having withdrawals after 10 days of nothing more than a quick glance each day. Loved having my sister here but it's time to get in the old routine of doing just what I please! Some days that isn't much!
Glad to hear Liny will be able to check in here soon or when she has a free moment. She does have a lot going on just now. I hope both she & her husband had a reasonably good day.
Lily, what a lot of work packing up so many years of living. So far, I've never packed up more than six years in a house. Mind you, the next time will be considerably more as we're at 21. Of course, maybe the kids will have to do it! So glad your sons have been able to be around to help & good planning on your one son's part to be with you on Monday. No doubt that will be an incredibly tough day for you. Take care of yourself meanwhile and try to rest when you can.
I thought we'd get rain today but nothing so far. Temps only around 70° & again tomorrow. Must check my plants tomorrow but for today they are on their own.
Have a great evening!

Just thought I'd stop to say hi. Just watered the pot of coleus in sun room and the plants n it are so colorful, each one different and large now, too. I also have 2 bushes in containers I water each day until I can get the holes dug and plant them in the ground. Too hot and dry to do it now so hope later on this month can do it. They are Forsythia bushes I ordered but didn't get planted yet. They are leafed out & green and healthy looking and have several branches on them so they get water and fresh air circulation in the sun room. When I plant will put a fine wire fence around them and fasten the fence down with fencing pins to hold it throughout the winter. I am getting 2 aluminum window awnings put on the windows on that west end of house to help shade the area and block the sun. The intense sun faded all my blue hostas because it was all shaded from spruce trees when I planted the coral bells and hostas there a long time ago. So they are in the wrong place now and may need to be moved this fall or next spring to a shady area. Needless to say, we had to have the spruce taken down as they were dying out and losing all branches, needles, etc. Still have a few along the back end of the west line that are okay, yet.

It was HOT here today but the humidity wasn't bad. So I spent an hour or so weeding in the fruit garden (with a hat on) and the quite a chunk of time cutting back some of the non-producing branches. I was amazed how much I trimmed back.
While I did that, hubby dug up the potatoes but not a great crop this year. However, we'll enjoy them while we can.
Have a good night.

I am back. Now it is dark and a bit cooler, but that dang humidity is still hanging around. It sounds like it will be for a couple more days at least.
My day was filled with carpet cleaning this morning (I decided to do it , but a smaller area and 2 fans) then I tackled lots of deadheading and I am also learning how to tuck point our brick house...that DIY site gives lots of tips and i think I can figure it out. What I did so far looks pretty good....from the road...lol.
Donna...I think you need to go out and do a rain dance. When you do that please have Rick record it and post the video here...lol...just kidding. I hope you get rain soon.
Lair...I deleted your thread and copied your post here before doing so. Maybe I ned to start a thread on how to delete posts. It is actually quite easy.
Lily...when you post on reply rather than quick reply there are smiles.....look up above in the tool bar and way to the far right of the icons (2nd from the end) there are smilies :D . I bet you are ready for bed after the past few days you've had.
Kathy...I promise I will never ride on a motorcycle the rest of my life....bad experiences and loss of a couple good friends. waving at Posy, Stella, Tasty, Angela and whoever else...oh yea...Larry...lol. Nice to see so many replies. I promise I read them all and nice to hear how your day went.
See you all in the morning. Charlene

Duh Charlene. I KNEW I had seen emoticons on here the first time I posted, but couldn't remember! I've just been clicking on the Quick Reply since then and not paid any attention to the Reply button! I am so dumb anymore and just don't see things like I should. Thank you! I'm really thinking I should just move to Assisted Living. My friends are going to be so fed up with me!

Good evening. I am way late getting here tonight. I sound like I am ending my day the way it started, don't I, LATE? LOL!
Our god children came over and swam this evening. I was able to get some really neat family photos. They usually just come with their mom, but their dad came tonight also. Our god daughter couldn't wait to show us that she has learned how to do a forward flip or roll. She's been working so hard on that! I stepped in the house to take a phone call, and when I came back out DH told me I had missed something big. Our god daughter had done 4 forward flips in a row and ended up in the deep end for the first time - ever. She's only 6 so everyone was amazed when she kept her cool and just swam towards the edge of the pool. I'm surprised DH didn't have a heart attack on that. He is very, very cautious about swimmers in our pool.
I also started going through the wedding photo proofs trying to decide which pictures I want, which I can live without, and which I absolutely have to have. So far, I have 15 marked but I expect to "need" about 10x that many before I am done. :)
Charlene, you have been positively magical in what you have been able to accomplish getting friends here! Major props to you!!! It will be good to see LINY here when she is able to make it.
I am going to be hiding right with you, Donna. I don't do hot and humid very well anymore. I am sorry you are having to haul water like that. I hope you get some relief soon!
Lair, I hope you liked the movie with Melissa McCarthy in it. She is definitely a funny lady. BTW, you made me laugh with the little chat you had with the weeds. If only it were that simple, eh? So glad you posted tonight!
I have to admit, Stella, that when you first posted a while back about doing laps at the pool, I thought for sure you were swimming. Ma'am, I thought you were SUPER WOMAN! :)) Happy knitting!
Lily, I am sure it has been a difficult few months for you. Hopefully the transition to your new home will go well, and before you know it you will be able to sit back and relax here any time you want.
Wow! It really is true! You learn something new every day. Kathy, I had no idea you rode motorcycles. I am impressed! My youngest sister and her husband ride a lot. It makes DM nervous, but then again, a lot of things make her nervous. ;) I always wondered if I could ride, but that is a thought that has long since passed me by. Your supper sounds yummy!
Angela, it is always nice when company arrives, but even nicer when they leave, isn't it? I'm glad you were able to site back and relax today. There is a lot of comfort in being able to do as one pleases in my book.
Do you ever feel a different kind of tired, Larry? I tend to feel a much more satisfied kind of tired when I know I have worked hard at something all day. If I am bored tired, I can still drop off to sleep pretty easily, but it isn't the same as being drop-dead tired for me. Whatever kind of tired you are tonight, I hope you sleep well.
Posy, your post reminded me that I totally forgot to water my caladium dish tonight. Coleus seems to remind me of caladium for some reason. I really have to do that first thing in the morning. The poor things are going to be so parched!
Well, I think I need to head off to bed now. My body clock is winding down and just about stopped now. Have a nice night!
Waving at Tasty and Charlene. You ladies popped in while I was typing.

Good evening everybody. Worked today, then came home & did laundry. I had plans to weed since it was pt. cloudy & not too hot. But I'm still recovering from 9 hrs. on my feet yesterday. Just didn't have the motivation to go do it once I sat down
I have to go check out the VIP for Molly's post. I posted before I left for work this morning but haven't been back
Glad we got LINY registered .
Stella you put a tomato jar in your meal? Didn't the glass cut your mouth? Go back & read what you wrote. LOL
Tomorrow will probably be a repeat of today.
