Lily...2 years ago Melissa and family were in our neck of the woods. They canoed at Lanesboro and stayed at Lake Louise State Park in Leroy. Melissa thought that she had died and gone to heaven since it was August and the natural prairie at Leroy was in full bloom. Charlene

Good morning everyone
The weather is going to get hot and humid here also. I am going to be going to Florida the end of the month so it is OK to get used to the weather because it will be hot and humid there. hahaha
Just noticed I have some cucumbers coming along. These are planted in pots on the balcony and I was thinking of cutting them off because I had lots of flowers but the cucumbers that were there were not growing, just turning yellow and falling off but now there is hope. I also have a tomato coming along but don't know it it will produce any fruit or not.

Gayle, yes that is the maypop. I took that pic a week or so ago. One of mine is blooming more than the others, but none have done as well as in previous years. This heat has seemed to make so many things stop blooming.
Kathy, my license was issued 10 years ago. A lot can change in 10 years! By the time I get it renewed my hair will be gray. And I have gained a lot of weight since the last one. But, I rarely have to show anyone my license. There are advantages to being old.

I'm late for good morning, so here is good afternoon....lol
I just got in from weeding the front flower beds. Talk about crabby crab grass. I don't know what it is this year, but it's the most crab grass I have ever seen in my life.
Not sure what I will be doing...either the pool or Michaels'.
Waving from this corner of the world....

Good afternoon. I am later than I wanted to be in getting here this morning. I've been doing a bunch of different computer stuff and taking care of the hummingbirds this morning. They are really draining the feeders these days! I need to continue making a dent in the laundry that I started this morning. We are heating up and the humidity is moving back in today so I will be trying to stay indoors as much as I can. I will need to water the container garden, though. Like others have mentioned, we will also cool down for the weekend. The later we go into the week, the better our chances are for rain. As always, we sure could use some.
Larry, I am also enjoying the "My Story" thread. I am learning new things with each post. As you mentioned, some of that, though, may be a jog in the memory of something I used to know. LOL!
I am going to have to go check on my driver's license now that you mention it, Kathy. I won't have to do anything until December, but I should still check to be sure I don't have to do anything this year. Good luck on the eye exam and with your new glasses! Your eye exam news really has me wondering if things have changed around here. Hmmm ...
Dave, it is good having you here with us. Glad you were able to make the switch.
Gee, Bette, now would be a darn inconvenient time for your email to go down on you. I'm happy to hear that it is now working for you. I hope the remaining time with the line cook you would rather not work with goes better than you anticipate.
Leslie, hearing what you go through to get your license renewed amazes me. I never thought about having an eye doctor fill something out so I wouldn't have to do the eye exam. Maybe that isn't an option in Ohio. Love your necessity list!
I feel the same way as you do, Wendy. It is so refreshing to be able to come here and not be so frustrated you don't even want to come back. Best wishes on your kitchen remodel! I wish I could have kept the kitchen we remodeled at our other house. It was a dream room! Here I have a galley kitchen and cupboards in the utility room for boxed and canned food, as well as most of my kitchen equipment. It works, but it isn't ideal.
Tasty, I also prefer to weed after a nice rain. The weeds are much more easy to pull. Our trouble this year has been that we've had so few days with rain, not to mention the humidity and high temps when it did rain. Neither DH, nor myself, are at all anxious about weeding on days like that. Enjoy your comfortable weather while you have it.
I am glad that your A/C will get installed soon, Gayle. You sure have had a wait on that! Threatening to take your business elsewhere was a good motivator. Glad you thought to do that.
Melissa, your plans for the day sound really cool! I hope things go well for you and the family. I still wince thinking about your DD's scrapes. Ouch!!!
I think you are wise to hold off on the carpet cleaning with it being so humid again, Charlene. You are probably right. The carpet might not dry. How thoughtful of you and Larry to not move your furniture around until your fur baby isn't around anymore. I am sure a big thing like that would be so hard for her to handle.
Lily, lily, lily, I so wish I could hug you tight enough that you would feel as though things are going to be okay after you move. My heart breaks for you, dear lady! Since I can't hug you, I am saying a prayer for you. Comfort and peace be with you. Molly once shared on the board that she uses a Rolodex for her computer passwords and log-in information. DSon got me one for Christmas last year, but if you use the same things over again you wouldn't need anything like that. A note posted somewhere that you can't miss it is probably in order. I have one on the backboard of my desk that is dated 1/28/14 B&B Helps. Without it, I would never remember if I should use direct link or the IMG link for posting pictures and changing my siggie. There is an update that says "2016 - still use direct link for posting pictures." LOL! Since that is what I need for here, I won't bother changing anything.
Well, this took longer than I expected. I have laundry that needs tending. lunch that needs to be had, and supper to consider so I have to get moving. Wishing you all a tremendous Tuesday!
Sorry to have missed a couple of posts while I was writing my novel. Waving at Carol (I do have that right, don't I sony2u2) and Stella!

Good afternoon! My sister has left & saddly I likely won't see her again till next year as they winter in Arizona. We had a wonderful 10 days. Lots of laughter, chatting, good food & even a few tears but that's life! We do tend to be an emotional family, some more so than others! Pick me! 😊
Have missed my computer time. Tough when real life gets in the way of my talking to my cyber friends! Says a lot about what these forums mean to some of us. Back on track now & don't expect too many more interruptions this summer. Well, my son & little one will be here for a bit but I'll still manage to make my way here in a more timely fashion.
Lily, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine how difficult this summer has been for you & this week particularly. Many (((hugs)))) going out to you, my friend. You asked about the "edit" function. Look up at the top right of you post & the icon is there. Good luck with that. I am thankful for that as oh, how I need it!
I hear Ray pulling into the garage. So, best go for now & attend to the groceries. Kicking myself that I didn't go through the fridge a bit first. We are overloaded with cucumbers as much as we like them. Plus have my own four seeds which are producing big time! See you later.

Good afternoon from Michigan. A comfortable morning as I took Yolanda to Hope Network. Mowed the lawn, canned a couple quarts of tomatoes. Dinner for tonight is prepped. Now it is getting warm and a bit humid. Temps to reach upper 80's and maybe touch 90. Need some rain around here. I suppose one of these days I should check and see how to put a picture on here. Leslie, I think the MayPop is beautiful even though you say not as pretty as previous yrs. I wonder how long it will take mine to bloom?
I notice the post don't automatically go to page 2? You have to scroll back up & go on to the next page. Is that right?

I am here! I got busy early, those who were here might remember the tractor shed in the back yard, the roof got really bad so I decided to have it taken down, that became a major project, seems that the guy who built it many years ago didn't intend to EVER see it go down. One more days work and it should be finished. We even found a cement floor UNDERNEATH a wooden one. Jerry was very careful not to damage the Fig Tree next to that. What wood that could be chipped he put into a pile so I will have enough mulch for several years. I will get used to the new site, I am just so grateful that we have a place to visit!!! Have a wonderful evening!

Molly I am sorry to hear that you have been so busy but yet happy to hear that is the reason you haven't been back on.
Our board, no matter where it is located just isn't the same without you here.

I did see the 1-2 Charlene. Like Lily, I guess, my eyes just didn't register it.
Molly, so glad to have you back. Please don't leave us again.
