Good morning friends.
It's raining and the temps will be in the 60's :) . I love this cooler weather. However, temps will head back up to the 80's this week.
Elza, What kind of counter tops are you getting?
Yesterday was the memorial service for by BIL. So much tension in the room with who's not talking to who. Glad it's over. Afterwards we went to a diner, there was about 15 of us.
Last night was our annual block party. It drizzled but thankfully not all night. I didn't have time to prepare anything due to the memorial service so I made pizza bagels and bought some chocolate chip muffins.
Going grocery shopping soon.
We're off from school tomorrow for rosh-hashana.
Enjoy your day.

Just been home for awhile after church and Pat and I went out to eat. It was not good so don't need to go back to that restaurant. Has not been open all that long but terrible service and food was a buffet and too expensive for what they serve.
Is a nice day today so sure could go mow but think will wait until tomorrow. Just have a day of rest!!
I see Darwin mowed the folks farm so will be another bill for me. It looks nice after he is done and that is what I want. I told him want to look nice when there is church across the street.
Nancy that is to bad with your DH family. Their are lots of family issues anymore and why no one can get along. My brother and I had never argued but sure did over Mom's house. He sends me b-day cards but we never talk. This is all that is left of my family and there were 7 of us. Can not believe people sometimes is too bad.
Looks like everyone is busy today.

Hi ! Just got up from a nap. The girl dog got sick during the night so I was awakened a couple times during the night. I think we are getting ready to go and get something to eat. I offered to make something for DH, but I think we will go out. Lunch today at church was soup and salad. They served a roaster of chicken and rice, which DH does not care for. The other choice was split pea. I had that and thought it was pretty good. DH got some also but did not like it so much so left most of it. All my salad and cake were eaten, so I like that.
We are going to Oklahoma on Thursday-it's DH's 50 year class reunion this weekend. We will be staying for several days next week. I thought we might load up the furniture and bring back, but DH says we can leave it all out in the garage. The realtor wants the house empty.
Doris, thank you for your advice regarding the house. We walked down there last night and talked to her. She was very sweet and kind about it all. She is a wonderful person and will be a nice addition to the Care family. I feel so much better now that we are not obligated in to buying something that expensive. We may not buy at all, just stay in the rv. I know that part of my problem is that I really still want the house next door. It's sort of like if I cannot have that house, I don't want any house!
We have a chance for rain later today. The forecast shows some rain through next Sunday. Hoping the weather in Oklahoma is better.
I don't have plans tomorrow. Marge says it is supposed to rain. I may have to go by the store as I will need to bake a few things for the coffee shop early in the week.
Nancy, I'm glad you have the memorial over with. So sad that families can feel that way with each other.
Marlene, sorry that the food at lunch was not good. I organized all of our refrigerator magnets at the resale shop and saw that there was one form Elk Horn, IA.
Dogs are wanting out so need to run. Have a nice evening !

Good afternoon. After lunch, I made a quick shopping run up to Greenville to look for shoes at DSW. I found the style and size I wanted, but I need a different color. I came home and looked online and I'm afraid it is going to be hard to get just what I want. Oh well, I'll keep looking. I did find a nice purse at TJMaxx, though, so I didn't come home empty-handed. Stopped at Ingles on the way home to pick up some essentials: milk, bread, toilet paper, peanut butter -- just in case we have refugees coming in from Hurricane Florence later in the week. Tammy, I think you are smart to be very particular about buying a house. That is a big decision and one that you could potentially live with for a long time, so you don't want to do something you don't feel good about. Trust your gut! Nancy, so sorry about all the family drama with your DBIL. What a shame. We are planning to stick with laminate countertops but with a more updated look and edging. This is what I have picked out. Right now our countertops are solid white and I hate them. They stain so easily and you can see every little crumb. The cabinets and appliances are white too so a little color is desperately needed. We plan to have the cabinets repainted and put new hardware on, and also install a new sink. Marlene, well, at least you know to take that restaurant off your list! Costs too much and bad food -- no thank you! Getting ready to watch some football tonight and see how I do with my fantasy team this season. My college team didn't do so well yesterday but maybe my Packers will come through tonight.

Good evening friends. Today was Wiener Schnitzel Day.
I slept so much better last night and woke feeling restful.
DH finished painting the living room--yea. He has to work next Saturday, but said he'd also like to start in the laundry room. We'll see.
I spent the day doing laundry and cooking. I made a Bloody Mary Pasta Salad, thinking we'd have that as part of our dinner. However, I decided I'll place some in our lunches this week. DH grilled T-Bones and a baked potato for each of us--all I had to do was make a salad.
Elza, having been a part of many hurricanes during the last 35 years, I am glad to read that you are not waiting to buy some goodies in the event Florence pays you a visit. Do you think family will be joining you? Sorry my team I was cheering for, the Ga. Bulldogs, beat your team. Tonight I wish you better luck with your Packers. BTW, your counter top choice looks nice.
Nancy, sorry to read about the tension-filled memorial service for your BIL. When my in-laws pass way, DH and I expect it will be like that for us. Schools will be open here tomorrow for the Jewish holiday.
Tammy, hope your DH will enjoy his high school reunion. Have a safe trip. Glad you were not locked into buying the house your really weren't happy with--nothing worse then having to live with it when you really didn't have your heart and sole into it from the beginning.
Marlene, sorry you and Pat didn't enjoy your dinner out today. Glad you decided to just rest today before you do the mowing again tomorrow. When DH cut the lawn yesterday he remarked that he thinks it has slowed down a bit with the growing. He rejoices that for a few months during the so called winter we have that he can go two weeks between mowing.
Time to put up my feet and take out my book to enjoy before bed this evening. Sweet dreams to all.

Good evening all.
Was busy in the kitchen most of yesterday, prepping supper - friends coming to eat and I wanted to make a couple of recipes that were new to me. Everything turned out well and we all enjoyed good company.
This morning was cold and altho the temperature did go up a bit it only got to about 63 F. We were due to golf and a friend of hubby's joined us - an enjoyable game.
Supper tonight was mostly leftovers from last night - nice and easy.
Love your choice of counter top Elza. It's not going to show every crumb!
I'm sorry you weren't happy with the second house,Tammy but better to wait. The right thing will come along.
Families are strange at times, Nancy. So sorry that things were uncomfortable for you and your hubby yesterday.
Not good when you have to pay for bad food and service, Marlene. At least you know not to go back!
With all the work you and hubby are doing Lori, your house must be looking lovely.
Have a good night 🙂
