Good morning friends.
We should've gone to the pool yesterday as it was sunny and didn't rain as predicted. Today it's cool, overcast with on and off rain.
Going food shopping as usual and kinda in the mood for pot roast. However, steak is on sale again this week. Not sure what I'll make yet.
Yesterday the girls and I went to Marshall's. Youngest DD found a cute set of bed sheets. Oldest DD found a lunch bag for school. Next month I have 2 baby showers to attend on the same wknd (ugh). I found some cute baby bibs and toys at Marshall's for both babies.
Enjoy your day.

I am ready to go to church. Been so thankful for so many things the last while. Now the farm sold yesterday so is not my worry anymore. A young farmer got his first loan and he and his Dad purchased FIL's farm yesterday. So now can pay bank for their care in nursing home, taxes on the 2 farms, auctioneer and lawyer. Whatever is left will be salted away for a rainy day. The young man will farm it and just let the house sit for now. I hope someday to see it all down and new house there.
My DS left around 3:00 yesterday to go home. He had to stop in Sioux City and deliver a tool box to another young man. He had only 5 hours of sleep so was tired when he came but would not admit to it. He had got home at 12 midnight and went to bed and here in town at 8:00 yesterday. I had him and friend of ours for dinner . So was short and sweet. I had so many at the sale that just came to show their support to me. What good friends I have!
Will maybe go out to eat today. Will see what happens. Marge is coming to church also.
Have a great day everyone.

Nancy, nice that you & DDs found some good buys yesterday. That is going to be a busy weekend for you, with 2 baby showers!
Marlene, I am so glad that you have that sale behind you. One less thing for you to keep up with has got to be a relief.
We were all in different places this morning -- I was at our church, DH was at the university for their annual welcome service for the new freshmen, and DS went to Mass. We all met afterwards at our favorite Creekside BBQ for lunch.
I should be dusting but it's that nice, quiet, Sunday afternoon nap time so I think the sofa may be calling ...

Good Afternoon !
Marlene, how nice that FIL's farm has new owners. Glad it went well.
Elza, I know what you mean about the nap. I had hoped to get a pan of brownies baked for the coffee shop-they are out of them- but just couldn't resist the call......lol.
The chocolate mixture is cooling now and the brownies will be done shortly.
We ended up going out to eat last night with Jack and Sue. Jack called, so we said ok. We tried a place called The Farmhouse but the wait was 30 minutes, so we left and went to Pontoons, which was close by. I had the hamburger steak and DH had the grilled chicken breast topped with grilled onions, mushrooms and pepper jack cheese. He said it was very good.
Since we did not even get home until 10, I did not get all the food made that I wanted to. I did get the eggs hard cooked in the Instant Pot. I chilled them overnight, and peeled them this morning. They peeled very easily. I also got the crust baked for the eclair cake. I got up early this morning and finished it, and made the deviled eggs. I brought home empty pans.
If we are hungry then I still have the baked sweet potatoes and ham steak that I can heat up.
The puzzle is coming along but slowly. It is fun though. Have a nice day.

Afternoon! It's dry and cool today; windows are open. I am very happy. I had an afternoon nap and just finished preparing supper...a tossed salad and some ham & swiss rollups. Nancy - Nice that DDs and you got some stuff at Marshalls. I am "doing" another week from the freezer for our meat choices, but I do need to get veggies and such. Elza - Yup, dusting and cleaning is on hiatus today!!! Marlene - I have no doubt that you have many, many friends who will support you because you are a very kind person. Glad the sale of FIL's farm is behind you. Last night's roast lamb, feta/lemon spuds and spinach salad was delish. Have leftover lamb, and I'm thinking about what to make with it. Hello, Tammy!!! Waving!!

Good evening friends.
After a two hour bike ride this morning, DH and I went over to the storage place. Brought home 6 boxes in hopes that I can empty them this week. Told DH just a few boxes each week will be easier to deal with rather then bringing them all at one time.
However, I never even touched them today as DH and I drove down to Naples and met DD and DSIL for a belated birthday lunch for DH. We ate at a place called Tacos and Tequila. I had a chicken taco and a cheeseburger taco. The chicken was okay, but the cheeseburger was super yummy. Driving back in heavy rain and wild lightning, we saw a small fire right off the highway where the lightning hit--orange flames were dancing around and up a small tree. Stopped and called it in so hopefully somebody could put out the fire before more trees would burn.
Marlene, wonderful news to read that the farm has been sold--a huge weight off your shoulders.
Tammy, your new puzzle sounds like it will be fun to complete.
Elza, even though everyone had a busy morning and you were all in different places, it was great that you were able to meet up later and enjoy some Bar-b-q together.
Nancy, sounds like you had a successful Saturday shopping trip. Hope you were able to enjoy your pot roast today.
Ann, hello. Hope you had a great day.
If we are hungry later this evening, we'll have some toast and tea. Although I've not been called for subbing tomorrow, I will go now and get myself organized in case something still comes in this evening or first thing in the morning. Have a relaxing evening and sweet dreams.
