Morning! Awake and up at my usual early time. It's cooler this morning, but it's just started to pour again. Waiting to go upstairs for Sunday breakfast with mom. No plans for today; may do an early grocery shop and stop at the local farm stand. Tammy - Thanks for the recipe. I know mom will love this! Betsy - Murphy's Law with that broken pipe. We once had a blockage from the trap to the street on the day we were going to have more than 20 "open house" guests! Our wonderful plumber came even though it was a holiday. Forever grateful!!! I'll check in later. Have a wonderful day! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Thanks for starting us off Ann.
It poured here yesterday with thunder and lightning as well. I don't know what we're in for today. One moment the sun is shining and the next it gets dark.
Betsy, Bummer about the pipe. Hope it doesn't cost you a fortune.
Last night I ordered Chinese food for the girls and DH and I went out to purchase a new computer. He will probably set it up today. Then end of last year and this year seems to be "new appliance and electronic" years for us.
BBQ chicken and ribs, homemade mac and cheese and Pillsbury biscuits for dinner tonight.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Hello, and happy Sunday.
I brought home a lot of soup and one serving of dessert. I know what we will be having for lunch this coming week. We have lots of leftover turkey still-I am thinking of a turkey pot pie. We have leftovers from lunch yesterday so that will be supper tonight.
Betsy, so sorry about the plumbing issue. Having worked for a plumber for 23 years, I know what a nightmare that can be. Hope it is done quickly and will not be too expensive.
I saw that the neighbor who borrowed my cookbooks got home Friday so yesterday I went over and welcomed her back and picked up my cookbooks! She did apologize. She also told me that they had gotten the phone number of the son of the house next door (that we hope to buy) -she got it form the yard guy. They called and asked about the house but the people did not seem interested in selling at that time. I think it was awhile ago. That makes 3 people besides us that have expressed interest in buying the house. I hope we can make an offer this week. DH is working on it.
That is it from me. Hope everyone is enjoying the day!

Hey everybody. We had a good morning at church and then all 4 of us went out for lunch with our pastor & his wife. That was really nice and we had a good visit. We went to our favorite Mexican place and I tried something different -- enchiladas blancas -- corn tortillas with grilled chicken, cheese & sour cream sauce. It was good but just a little bland. Better when I added some tomatillo sauce!
This afternoon we are all napping, I think!

Oh Betsy that is no fun have issues with the sewer. Been there done it! I had a collapsed line they had to replace when it came out of basement. Was an easier fix but felt sorry for them fixing the problem. In town you never know where the actual problem would be. Good luck to you ! That is a thoughtful thing for you to do taking your DDIL for a pedicure. She will love it!!
We had a nice crowd at church today. One thing I fixed was dill pickles wrapped in cream cheese on dried beef wrapped the pickle and sliced. I thought these probably won't go, they are all gone! Some never had seen them or tasted them. I called Chuck and told him I had a assortment of bars for him. He is going to clean out my mower so will send home with him. We just talked on the phone and my ear got hot we talked so long!!
It is another hot day here. We should could use a good rain. I did not stay up for weather last I heard maybe Monday.
Hope you all are enjoying your day. We did have a great time last night visiting w/ Gloria and having a bite to eat. I did go to town and we got mini blizzards after we ate also.

Good evening friends.
We were to get rain this afternoon between 1--5, but by the time DH and finished our breakfast, the sky was dark and angry looking. He flew out the door in hopes that he could finish the trimming that yesterday he couldn't finish due to the weather. Yea, 30 minutes later he was done and the rain was pouring like cats and dogs. The sun came out about an hour later and made it into a steam bath for the remainder of the day. Later he pulled weeds for awhile, but the heat got to him , so he worked in the garage painting the hallway door.
With another school year set to begin tomorrow, I had some things to do around the house. I wouldn't expect a call to sub right off the bat, but you never know. I made a double batch of chicken chow mein. We had some for our dinner this evening along side some spring rolls, but there was plenty to pack away for another meal later this week and another two meals for the freezer. In between, I made a batch of sweet tea and did laundry, including ironing.
Nothing really exciting happening here. I have the dishwasher going. While I am waiting for it to finish so I can empty out yet tonight, I'll watch the evening news and then read. Take care everyone.

Really late getting here today. We decided to golf today, unusual these days for us to go!f on a Sunday but hubby has a match to play tomorrow and we are having a new a/c unit installed tomorrow so I had to cancel my game with the ladies in the morning. Glad we went today because I had a really good game 😊
After that we drove to the nearest city, about an hour away for lunch. Hubby had a turkey wrap and I had a beef dip. We brought half of it home and neither of us wants any supper this evening. Maybe a yogurt later. We also brought home some goodies from the bakery where we had lunch -- so good ( not healthy maybe so good).
Then we went shopping. Hubby has a 'big' birthday coming up later this month so he got to choose what he wanted from Mum and from me so he had a good time!
Have a good evening
