G'day! Yum, yum, yum...beans and greens were delicious. Have a bit left...may use them in soup or goulash for this week. Tonight we are having meatloaf from the freezer. Rice mixed with leftover ratatouille and more cauliflower salad or some corn recipe. Cleaning angel is coming this morning. Nothing to do but stay out of his way!!! Will check in later, I hope. I was up earlier than usual for the third strait morning so maybe a nap is in my future. Waving!

Thanks for starting us this morning Ann. Sun is shining and the birds are chirping - couldn't ask for a nicer start to the day. The washing machine is almost finished the first load, I think I maybe need to put the breadmaker to work this morning too.
Think I probably have to cook us a meal tonight. I haven't really cooked since Tuesday so not sure what I will do but we will have our first local corn of the year π
Have a lovely day.

Good morning. 59 and sunny this morning. Our humidity is still high however. Yesterday it reached 82 and the humidity did drop to 90% for a brief time them right bak up to 100%. Yesterday I had Annabelle and Natalie all day. I did get cleaned next door before they arrived. It did turn sunny in the afternoon but didn't get outside while Annabelle was sleeping. Instead I set up a computer for her to play baby games on so she would leave my computer and the big kid's alone. It took me for ever as I first had to find a program that would emulate android games. This morning I don't plan on doing anything since I have to work a double today. I don't have to be in until 2 which is nice rather than noon but will probably go in early since I think we are still working today short one waitress. Today is Cameron's birthday so need to get a card on my way to work. I will text him in a bit to wish him happy birthday then will give DD his gift when I see her at work today.
Have a great day.

Good morning, all. Bet--I hope that restaurant appreciates you and your work ethic. :)
The humidity has let up here and is supposed to get better. I was braced for an afternoon of thunderstorms yesterday--and they skirted around us again! We did have some light rain but it feels as though we have a force field around this part of the state. They suspect a possible small tornado hit southwest of us so I should not complain. It feels more comfortable now.
Ann--my mother often cooked dandelion greens as well as using them in wilted salads. Cooked, we liked to sprinkle them with a little vinegar and sometimes they had some bacon. Utica Greens probably started with dandelions in the beginning--the Italian immigrants who were the source of the recipe foraged wild greens. Curley endive is good in it, too. Any bitter greens in season will work.
I haven't decided what to have for supper tonight. I've been making progress reducing the stuff in the freezer so I'll have to rummage in there and see what needs to be used.
Have a good day, all.

Good morning, everyone. Toast with blueberry jam and coffee is a nice start to my day. We're meeting my sister & DBIL for dinner tonight at the Village Grill in Abbeville, so my plan for dinner is their always delicious Farmer's Market vegetable plate and something decadent for dessert.
We've finally, I think, gotten past the daily thunderstorms for a while -- nice and sunny this morning. DH has been doing yard and other outside work all week and it does look nice. I'm going to get some laundry and cleaning done today, and I really need to spend some time at the piano too.
Birdy, our family visited Cooperstown a number of years ago (10, I think) on a road trip vacation and we all loved it. Of course the Hall of Fame was just great, but the area is so beautiful! And everyone we met was pleasant and so helpful.
Ann, hope you get that nap today.
Safe travels to you, Tammy.
Bet, I agree, I hope your employers realize and appreciate what a treasure they have. I always told my sons, that you can easily stand out in any job, by just showing up on time, every time.
A lazy Saturday wave to everybody ~ π

Cooperstown was always a favorite day trip for my family when I was a kid. But in those days you could actually go to the park by the lake and enjoy a nice picnic lunch on the lawn. Those days were over a long time ago when it became a tourist mecca in the summer. Fond memories of my mother at the Hall of Fame . . . she was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and was broken-hearted when they moved to California. She met another woman there who was feeling the same and the two of them had a pity party right in front of the exhibits! LOL!
The number of people showing up for the Hall of Fame induction today probably quadruples the population of the town--or more. With 6 players being inducted, they have fans from all over the US traveling in. At least they have parking outside the village with free shuttles. But peaceful it isn't! It is a lovely part of the state, though, if you ignore all those people! LOL! I just avoid that neck of the woods for this weekend and the one in June when they have the Old-Timer's game at Doubleday Field.
On top of everything else, we are having our big Irish Festival at the fairgrounds a few miles down the valley. That draws a huge number of people from around the state, too. Busy, busy! If I go out, it will be in the opposite direction.

Bet you sound just like me and my work skills. But you know now I am paying the price. It seems the employers know who does the work and many times I was I was gifted for what I done. So hope you are too.
I went to Farmers Market and got some tomatoes and bought a pie for dinner at church for tomorrow. Did not feel like making one. So have lots of eggs cooking for deviled eggs and don't know what else but will think later. I also got a box of peaches to make a good peach pies for freezer. I will do that instead of freezing peach slices.
Chuck was being a great guy again. I told him about my friend who goes to his church and how the weeds are making her house look awful and she has a nice home. He went in there and weedeated for 3 hours on Thursday. After his hard days work he goes home and has a couple beers each night so I bought him a case and (12 cans a case) of the Lime Arita's. I have a key to his house so took it over and gave Bella a treat and came home. He did not call and tell me either. Gloria called me last night and told me. I will make a dish for their supper today too. The sad part of all this Gloria's DD had 2nd back surgery she has RA real bad, and has a guy living with her in basement (which Gloria is not happy about) but she pays the house payment. They sat in basement the whole time and her friend never lifted a finger to help!! He is very capable and LAZY!!!! So don't think that will be done again.
I made 4 batches of jam yesterday and mowed my lawn. So I was tired and hot when I came in for shower. So feel today like not doing much!!
Have a great day. Will thaw last bag of peaches and make a cobbler for church also.

Good morning.
It's humid here today. I took the dogs on a quick run and we went 3 miles but we ended up having to walk the last mile.
No cooking for me today. I baked some brownies and banana bread yesterday so they have plenty of treats.
I am getting ready for a baby shower for my son and ddil here next weekend. Just family and close friends. I will bake every day and freeze the goodies.
We are going out to dinner or getting take out. Need to take our youngest for some school supplies her teacher's are requesting.
Have a great day.

It's another busy day here for me so I'm afraid it's just another quick stop. We have been working out in the yard since early this morning and I'm taking a small break--it's blazing hot out there--94* and the feel like temperature is 110*--dog days of summer for sure.
Dinner this evening is sloppy Joe's, pasta salad, and corn on the cob.
Waving to all! Lori

Oh my goodness, my Local Harvest Plate tonight was: succotash, green beans sauteed with shallots, fried yellow squash & zucchini with homemade Green Goddess dressing (tasted more like pesto to me), and a panzanella salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and croutons in a basil vinaigrette. I cleaned my plate and then enjoyed a slice of salted caramel chocolate cake. Totally worth it!

Good intentions to get the bread maker working today but that didn't happen - just plain forgot π. Didn't even cook tonight. We had some leftover chicken pot pie in the fridge so reheated that, cooked some local corn and local peas. Ice cream for dessert.
Sweet dreams to allπ

Hello ! We got back home around 5 but I have been playing on the computer since then.
We got the kitty dropped off. She was not happy with the car ride, and once she came out of the carrier she ran behind a cook stove that was Ray's moms. The have a small room off the back of the house they can close off, so that is C.C.'s temporary home until she gets used to being there. We visited with them, then went by our bank, and then met a friend at a wonderful Mexican restaurant. We had a nice meal and visited with her for a couple hours. Her name is Mary and she is the lady that we ate out with every Sunday lunch when we lived in Houston. We stopped by a couple of stores then headed home. I got the 2 scalloped chicken casseroles made up and they are chilling overnight.
David ordered our new computers from Best Buy and we will drive up to Lufkin right after church to pick them up.
If I am not posting tomorrow it is because we are switching the computers over. his one works but the black streak across the top of the screen is getting worse everyday.
Need to take the dogs out so I will say good night. Sleep well!

I baked a couple pans of butter pecan squares, and I took one to Ray and Rhonda. I just got a text from him saying "That cake is the bomb!" I am taking the other cake to church tomorrow.
