Good morning All.................
Well, here we go.................it is 57 this morning and 80 later. Glad to see so many made it here. This board seems to be faster than TOH. Let's hope it stays that way. lol
Yeah, i am up a little early but then fell asleep early too. Actually i was excited to get this going.
Just work around the yard today. This coming weekend is our towns yearly celebration so we like to have our home looking good. Wish others felt the same. Example: Our next door neighbors have mowed twice this year. It is at least a weekly thing here. Others only dress up their yards for this weekend only. Sad, but we do have between 4 and 6,000 come to this event. Oh well, each to their own. Other than that, not much else going. Hope you all have a good Monday.......not sure on space here................larry

Good morning all. Still hot and sunny. 57 now but will be the coolest for a while. I don't have my temp thingy any longer but having such a nice place to visit is worth it. Thanks Bette. The weekend goes much too fast. Work for me today. I can't wait to get there because I think I have Friday marked as one of my rare approved days off. I need to get my a.c. guy here. The unit leaks water all over my basement floor. He has the part he needs to fix it but getting him here to fix it is another story.
Have a great day all.

Good morning. It was such a pleasant night sleeping with the windows open last night! That has been a rare thing this summer. I do love waking up to hearing the birds so plainly. I can still hear them with the windows closed, but it isn't the same.
We have the funeral for our friend's dad a little later this morning. Beyond that, I am not sure what I will manage to get into. I think I will put some grubby clothes on when I am done here and go water before I shower for the funeral. That's about it from here.
Wishing you all a magnificent Monday!

Good morning everyone. I had a fabulous nights sleep and ready to start a new week. Not sure what I will be doing today. I've got a few jobs to work on in my shop, but I may choose to work there later this week when it is too warm to be outside....another HHH week in the forecast. Today I may work in the yard and enjoy the cooler temps and lack of humidity.
Glad to see things going well here so far...glad we made the move. I still keep trying to remember who we've left behind. Did anyone shout out to Janet on FB?
Have a great day everyone. Charlene

Good morning. It looks like it will be a fabulous day. Barely a cloud in the sky and actually nice and cool right now. Coffee just finished brewing so smells good in here. Our cabin has a screened in front porch which is really nice. I don't know if the next 2 we stay in will. This one also has a partial lake view as well as quite a bit of privacy around the fire pit/ table. One side is open to the parking area, but the rest is surrounded by dense shrubbery. Lots of birds and the crickets were very loud at night which was actually peaceful.
We were going to bike around last night but poor dd1 caught some soft sand with her bike and really scraped her arms and took a couple chunks out of her palm. She is such a stoic person she tried real hard not to cry and I think was mad she did. Thankfully we had first aid along and I got it cleaned up good. I felt so bad for her and a crappy way to start her trip.
Today we will do some hiking and exploring.
I hope everyone has a great day!

I decided to log in on my work pc and forgot my password. Finally figured it out. Looks like the board has been pretty busy today.
Larry, a neighbor on one side of me has only mowed once this year. DGS commented yesterday that they really needed to. They only had it done 2 times all of last year. They don't have a mower and wait until it is a hay field and then must pay someone. The neighbor on the other side also must pay someone because of health reasons, but they have had it done at least 2 times this year, maybe 3. DGS mowed mine when he first came Saturday before last, but then we had lots of rain. It needs it again, but while he was there it was really wet or raining. So it will be bad by the time I get around to it and will take longer trying to watch DGS#2 while trying to mow.
Charlene, I'm thinking Gayle let Janet know, but not sure.
Melissa, sorry about your DD. Have fun on your hike. I noticed you and Kathy have "via mobile" by your post. I posted from my phone this morning using the quick reply and it doesn't say that. Is it the difference in the phone (iphone vs android), the fact that I used the quick reply, or the fact that I probably had my phone set for desktop?
After work I may stop by DG for a few things and not sure what else I will do. My sciatica has been giving me a real fit lately and although I am trying to do the exercises, after sitting in a chair all day I will be in a lot of pain.

Leslie my phone doesn't show the 2 different replies but just a reply to topic. What is the difference if I have the phone set to desktop?

Good Monday morning, all! Oh, this site is so much better than TOH, but I'm missing some old friends and hope they hop on over soon. It's wonderful, though making new friends, though!!
I, too, had a great night's sleep. I'm and early to bed, early to rise person; I'm healthy and wise (with age comes wisdom, right!!!), but, alas I'm not wealthy moneywise. I am sure wealthy when it comes to other things, though so I cannot complain at all!!!
It's so dry in this corner of New England. We haven't had measurable rain since June, and that was very little. We also had a winter with very little snow. DH and I go out and water every day. Areas around us have water bans, but so far we can still water...we just water the perennial and herb gardens.
I mentioned that I love to cook, talk about cooking, watch TV shows about cooking (and travel), and read about cooking!!! Bet started a thread "What's Cookin'" that I hope you'll join sometimes. Maybe you have a question about cooking or want a recipe to use some ingredient or vegetable from your garden. As a volunteer field editor for Taste of Home, that's my "job"...helping with food related topics. My newest favorite thing to do is make vegetable "noodles". Eating them doesn't beat eating pasta [whole grain for us when we do have it (at least mostly!)], but the vegoodles are filling and delicious. When DH and I go to the market (each with separate lists [divide and conquer] we always check out the produce "sale" cart. When we find peppers, zucchini, eggplant and/or mushrooms we grab all we can, come home and chop, chop, chop, and roast the veggies. Oh, the aroma is so enticing! I usually puree them into a pasta sauce using canned tomatoes and spices, but sometimes I make a "meat crust pizza"...pat a meatloaf mixture (your favorite) into a oven-proof frying pan to make a "crust" and bake it. Drain the juice, and top with the roasted veggies and some cheese. Return it to the oven and cook until heated and the cheese is melted. Cut into wedges and serve with a salad (and, maybe, some nice bread). Well, I can't help myself. I hope I don't bore or bother you with my cooking blabber. Waving to all. Enjoy your day!

Good morning all! Hot and humid here this morning. I must say I overslept. My sister from Greece woke me up with her phone call. We ended up Skyping....I know that I just saw her a week and a half ago, but I do miss her terribly. She is my only sibling. Every time I think of how far she lives, I am sad. Such is life.
I must begin weeding. I've been saying that for a week, but yet have to start. Today is the day. It's not like the weeds are waiting for me...lol.
I'll get some knitting done this evening along with watching the Rio Olympics.
Have a great day!

Good late morning everyone. It is 76* and going up to 80*, sunny and no breeze. Have to water and try to do a little weeding.
I will be starting up the "What's for Supper?" thread right after Labor day. Hope you will join in.
For some reason my brain is not working yet so I will say talk to ya later. Have a great day and stay safe.
Eva
