Good morning.
It is a lovely cool 63 F this morning - doors and windows are wide open and it feels great! The veggies from the garden made a lovely supper last night .
It's Wednesday so no cooking for me- hubby will fix his own meal while I eat at the golf club with friends after our game. Gotta love it 😊.
Have a great day🙋

Good morning friends.
Thanks for starting us off Tasty. Looks like we're having the same weather. I think I'll mow the lawn before it gets too hot. Maybe your DH can make something for Betsy's husband since she's away lol.
Ann, I never had deviled ham. Thanks for sharing the article. Enjoy the boat christening today.
Bet, Hope you're able to catch the mystery critter.
Birdy, Did you cook that pork chop and how did it turn out?
Elza, Hope your mouth heals quickly so you can have some solid food.
Tammy, Your girl dog is smart by jumping right down onto the grass. As for the Frog Eye Salad, I've got to look that one up.
A little excitement while oldest DD and I were waiting for our car tires to be replaced. We were waiting in the small office when another woman came in. She sat down for a while and then got a phone call and went outside. A moment later she was back inside in a flash and said "the cops are outside with their guns drawn". Sure enough I look out the window and I see a cop with his gun out. Turns out there was this skinny, straggly looking guy walking down the street with a gun in his holster. Looked like the entire police force and detective force were there.
After that we went shopping at Barnes and noble, Target and Kohls. We had lunch at 10 bucks (aka Starbucks). Tammy, this is right near where we met for lunch that time. I bought 4 new shirts, a bathing suit and a shorts. DD found a couple of items. Wish she found more.
Not sure what I'm cooking tonight.
Youngest DD said they had a scrimmage game at camp yesterday and she got 2 home runs. She was very excited.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Thanks Tasty for starting us. My supper sounded like yours all those fresh veggies. It was great now my fresh green beans are gone along with fresh sweet corn. I also had some coleslaw and fresh creamed cucumbers for dinner. So it was a veggie day. I did take some jam to friends that were going to Canada also and I got just 2 small ears of sweet corn from her. I also took some fresh peaches to her. They are so good and juicy, the best I have found this year.
Will be doing some cooking today. So need to get in gear and get it started. Have to make a breakfast quiche as I have all the fixings for it now and something with ground beef to be decided. Will get the ground beef cooked anyway.
Nancy sounds like you have two ball players there. Gosh I loved to play it when I was younger. Good exercise for all of them. Now could not run if I needed too!! Wonderful old age!

Good morning. 56 and sunny here thie morning but tomorrow morning it is suppose to be 46. Our 90% change of rain ended up 2 brief showers and only about 1/4' of rain. Yesterday I ended up having my 3 girls again. So didn't do much around here except run a restaurant feeding them. Worked last night and it was slow. Thought I would get off early but no about 8 we had about 20 come in for dinner so couldn't get my side work done and out until just about 10.
This morning I have put baby back ribs in the slow cooker and have navy beans on cooking to make BBQ beans. I am headed out to get all the plants in the bed I just finished rebuilding. It will take a while to to get them laid out to where I want them then I will plant them. Once they are all planted after lunch Addison and I are making a WalMart run and to the bottle redemption center finally.
Not time to chat right now.
Have a great day.

Good morning, all--just barely morning, at that. I got a late start on the day--it was so nice and cool last night with the windows open that I didn't want to get out of bed. When I did and got a few chores done, I got a phone call from my friend asking me out to breakfast. She had written down the wrong day for an appointment, had come all the way into the city to find it wasn't to be, and was killing time until an appointment at 1.
So, I dressed quickly, drove across town, had a lovely waffle, and ended up doing a touch of grocery shopping and running the car through the car wash. By the time I got home, thoughts of working in the yard were rapidly disappearing. So here I am at the computer doing a little browsing and chatting and planning the rest of my day.
I haven't done my pork chop yet. I ended up opting for something simple since I was tired out last evening. I'll probably save that recipe for the weekend when I'm not going to be out and about. One thing--when you are cooking for yourself, you can be really flexible--or lazy--as the case may be! LOL! I found a good deal on shaved pub-style steak at the market this morning. I'm planning on a steak sandwich for supper on olive-oil ciabatta bread. Easy to make but pretty gourmet--for me, anyway.
Have a good day, folks.

Hi, friends! The minnow is officially named. A few intrepid sailors took her out onto the lake. I knew if I got in, I'd need a pully to get me out so I passed! Lunch was delicious with all sorts of salads, eggplant calzone, salad nicoise, deviled eggs, spinach squares (from the senior center cookbook) which were so delicious. Most folks had never had Armenian string cheese, and they liked it. Having a tiny supper. Will be back tomorrow.

Hi ! Marlene, DH planted our beans late, so they are just now blooming. Looking forward to a mess of beans with new potatoes!
Nancy, good for DD-2 home runs!!!
I am cheating for supper tonight. A couple weeks ago DH mentioned mac n cheese with some ham mixed in, so that's what we are having - with some help from Stouffer's! I did not think I would be hungry for supper after eating Mexican food for lunch, but I got a taco lite plate from the lunch menu. I got 1 taco and a small scoop of rice, so it actually was not very filling. I just put the mac n cheese in the oven. DH needs to eat early since he needs to be at church by 6 p.m. to pick up the pork butts that he is going to start cooking-it's for the appreciation day on Saturday.
I met friends for lunch, then afterwards we went to the library for a King Tut Treasure Exhibition. We thought it was actual items, but it turned out to be a long accordion fold board that held photos. It looks like something a student would make for a science fair, or something similar. Very disappointed!
The name of our group is the Fabulous Livingston Ladies, but someone joked today that we should be the Fabulous Livingston Active Beauties-aka FLAB!
I got the butter pecan bars baked this morning, and I have the chocolate cookie dough chilling. I will get those baked later on-probably after I am done playing cards. I plan on dropping those off tomorrow morning, going by to see Helen, then will play Bunco at 1:00.
The Livingston ladies are going to a different Mexican restaurant tomorrow night for some karaoke. They asked me to come but not sure I will.
Everyone stay cool!

We had baked chicken, broccoli, and sliced tomatoes for supper. It's been a busy day and we haven't even gotten to the sorting yet. It's very hot with no rain scheduled tonite. Luckily we could do everything inside today but will have to leave the house for a showing tomorrow. I'm pretty tired and hoping for a good sleep. Sweet dreams.

Well, apparently I missed all the excitement at work yesterday. Shortly after I left to go to the dentist, my coworkers noticed a burning smell and then saw smoke, right before the fire alarm went off! The fire dept came, searched most of the building, said they didn't see any fire, and left. Our maintenance guy came to the branch last night and this morning showed us the fuse panel from one of the A/C units (in a locked attic space) that was charred and partly melted! Anyway, glad that it resulted in nothing worse than our A/C being off. Also glad that it was cool last night and this morning, and by the time it heated up today, the A/C was working again.
DH & I went out for Mexican tonight. I tried a Burrito California, with chicken, rice, beans, lettuce & tomato, sour cream and cheese sauce. It was really good, and really big -- I'm having it for lunch tomorrow too.
