Hi, everyone! Sorry I couldn't check in yesterday. Time just scurries away sometimes. Last night, I used leftover Vidalia Onion Swiss dip from TOH that I had in the freezer and mixed in some cauliflower. Topped it with panko and paprika...mmmmm! Definitely not something to have often! DH has a doctor's appointment this morning so I won't be going to the senior center. With only one car, we sometimes have to "rearrange" plans! I had to tell my brother that he was in charge of getting mom to and from her hairdresser appointment. Lori - Hope the sore leg is more history today. Bet - My condolences to you. Your supper sounded delicious. We've had a rabbit and woodchuck ruin stuff in our garden but never a deer. Tho, once I did see a deer a few streets away from here. Helen - Hope you get to enjoy your new book. I just started "The Little Paris Bookshop"...not sure if I like it or not, but it had an interesting beginning. Love this time of the year with all of the fresh fruit & veggies we can get. Elza - The Pan-Seared Salmon with Dill Sauce was delicious. We loved the dill pesto in the sauce. There was a portion of fish left so I made salmon salad with it, and I did add a bit of mayo, onion, and lemon juice to it. It, too, is yummy with the dill flavor. Betsy - School almost already?!?! It seems this area just started vacation! Chris - Hope your day is better! Tammy - I hate how cleaning chores just seem to sneak up. I have to wipe down the fridge door; I see it every time the sun shines in the kitchen!!!! Nancy - Those wings sound so good...healthier, too. I spent a while searching for a Katie Lee recipe that she made on The Kitchen a few weeks ago. Finally found it..."Grilled Onion Blossom". It's a take on the bloomin' onion, but it doesn't have breadcrumbs and it's cooked on the grill. It's served with a horseradish dipping sauce. Going to try one today. Grilled Onion BlossomTime to go upstairs to make mom's breakfast. Will try to get back later. Waving!

Good morning everyone.
Thanks for starting us off Ann. Just checked out the onion recipe and it looks good 🙂
I haven't been around the last day or two. I've been busy altho nothing exciting, but left me short of time and energy to play here. Nancy, I hope your foot is better and Lori, the same with your leg. These things happen so fast!
This morning I'm golfing with friends and when we get home, if it's not too hot, I'd like to get out in the garden to do more than just water.
Supper this evening, no ideas yet altho we do have cabbage in the garden that would be a good size for 2 of us.
Have a fabulous Friday 😊

Good morning. 54 and sunny here this morning. To get into the mid 80's today. Yesterday was a bit of everything. I spent most of the morning on the computer doing reports. Almost done. Just 3 more to do and need to get an updated roster out for workers for next weekend in our cook shack. I also got all the deposit bottles straightened out and loaded into my car. There is about 200. After the wake I went to the redemption center only to find them closed. When I got back home I went next door and got the beds stripped and came home and started getting them washed. While doing that I decided I had to get all the groceries that were sitting in bags in the basement onto shelves. I am slowing trying to clean my basement. It was getting late so decided it was time to fix myself a good dinner for a change. Today I may take another trip to the redemption center as I need to empty my trunk. I want to make a dump run today and get the garage cleaned out of all the garbage. Most of the day is planned for the gardens. I am going to plant my cucumbers that I never got to. They are 60 days so if we are lucky and don't get an early frost I will get some. Then I would like to finish the bed in the fairy garden finished today and ready to plant. Need to check the sprayers to see if any work. It is suppose to rain tomorrow so no point in spraying today. If they don't work I see a trip to Tractor Supply and Walmart on Monday. I have to work tomorrow and Sunday so nothing will get done around here then.
Anne, dinner was good last night. It was a little spicy however. I used a whold jalapeno as they usually aren't that spicy but this one sure way. I lie things hot so it was fine for me.
No idea what dinner will be tonight as usual. Do have enough left from last night if a make a salad to go with it.
Have a great day.
Bet

It was beast out mowing yesterday but it is done for few days. The shower felt wonderful last night too! I did not have much for supper a small Stouffers meal of 300 calories and that was later too. Just wanted to drink cold things. Today we are to get rain this afternoon and looks a little cloudy this morning. Red was laying out in the back deck enjoying it.
Pat is coming today to do the vacuuming. I have to go this morning to get a mammo and I hate them!! Dr. says I am overdue so listened and they called me to set up appt. Have a nice guy who has taken care of all my water and sewer problems through the years and he is in the hospital not doing well so hope to stop and say hello when I am at the hospital. He had been in Omaha and hated it so they brought him back to be with his doctors here. His wife is a worker just like he was. She is filling an old well at Dad's farm today too. She said I have help and better get this job and another one done so he knows they are done. We decided to do this before he got bad. It needs to be done to sell the farm.
Well not much news here so better get ready to go. I plan on coming home and making the hamburger dish this morning. Had to thaw the hamburger out so is ready today. Have chicken salad left to eat for dinner and will take a bowl over to Chuck with the casserole.

Good morning friends.
Thanks for starting us off Ann. Both recipes look good to me. I do love all types of onions.
Elza, Good thing you don't need a root canal. I am long overdo about getting to the dentist .
Bet, Sorry to hear about the passing of one the members of your club.
Tasty, My foot feels fine and the dr. said I had to wait 5 days before getting it wet. Yesterday was day 5 but I might give it one more day. Not sure yet.
Betsy, That will be nice for you to get away. Shopping is always fun.
No cooking here tonight. Youngest DD has 4 friends sleeping over. We'll order pizza and in the morning I'll make them pancakes and bacon.
Waving to all and wishing each of you a wonderful day.

Hello dear friends and happy Friday.
It's a welcome cloudy start to our day. It sure has cooled off which feels nice.
Ann, thank for starting us and knocking wood. Yes, school is starting for youngest dd on 7/23. She had orientation yesterday fro 9th grade. It was also picture day for her and her photo came out so cute. My dd that goes to college still has 2 months off. So her summer continues....
Bet, I am sorry for your loss. Somehow I missed that in your post yesterday.
Tasty, enjoy your golf game.
Marlene, hope all goes well with the mammo.
Elza, glad you don't need a root canal but honestly they aren't bad these days. No worse than a filling. Same with crown. I felt great after my root canal as soon the numb wore off. It was a such a relief.
I am going to make sandwiches for dinner tonight. Not sure what kind.
Waving to all.
Betsy

Lori, I hope your leg is feeling better. It's hard to sit and rest when you see things that need to be done. I'm the same way. I guess that is why I am not getting over my cold very quickly. I hope your dd is feeling well.
Girls and I had lunch out today and got everything we need for our trip next week. Now I will get some things done around the house.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi ! We just finished supper. DH smoked the chicken, so it was a very easy evening for me. We had jello, cottage cheese and mixed veggies with it.
I got a text early today that the cashier at the resale shop was ill and I needed to cover for her. So, I worked all day there. DH stopped at the gas station and brought me a corn dog for my lunch today.
It was steady all day and we had a couple chairs donated. Those sold, so we had a good day. There was no one else working in that area so I was by myself most all day, no one to talk to so it was boring. She said the cashier on Thursday is going away next month and will be gone about a month. She has a lady to cover, but asked if I could be a back up cashier for Thursday in case she needs me. I said yes. We have 2 dvr recorders, one is mine and one is DH's. That was we can watch one thing but record another channel. Well MY recorder has decided it has a mind of it's own. Yesterday I noticed some odd things were being recorded. Stuff that DH would not ever want to record, plus he has his own recorder. Some of the shows were Puppy Dog pals, The Litany of St. Joseph, Namaste Yoga, Power Air Fryer, a paid advertising channel, etc. Some things recorded 30 minutes and some 14, or even less. Crazy, right? Last night before I went to bed I checked to see if anything was set to record and it wasn't, so not sure what is going on. DH is going to reboot it.
Nothing going on tonight, just need to clean up the kitchen (about a 5 minute job), then play the rest of tonight!
