Good morning friends!
Ever had a morning you want to delete and start over! I have one right now! One of those morning that all things seem to be going wrong! LOL And I just threw crackers all over my office. I grabbed the zip lock bag and wanted to chuck it on my desk! The bag was not zip locked! Crackers every where. By accident I took my BP med twice so thought I would just go throw it up and just ended up giving myself a headache. Doc says I will be fine not that strong a med! Sheesh! So I make my HC and dump it all over the floor!
Whine Whine Whine! Pour me a bucket of tears!
Chris (going to hide under her desk for the rest of the day!)

Oh Chris don't you hate those days!! One thing you should get is pill box that has the days on it then second guessing won't come into play. I have so many pills I take I have to do mine like that. Then when I take them I look them over and sure enough the #1 Coumadin I take with #6 was missing. Usually I count out the seven pills and put in each day but must have missed one. So it is not fool proof but does work most of the days. Usually taking blood pressure medicine you don't want to take more than one so you were lucky, but headache is no fun either.
Just let Mr. Red out for second time and he is going where there is shade. He is by my rhubarb patch for now. It is so much cooler in here but he wants to be outside too.
I am cooking some chicken and going to make a chicken salad w/grapes and celery and maybe some dried cranberries. Just sounds good. Also found a recipe for casserole w/hamburger and frozen noodles and soups etc .in it so will thaw some hamburger in fridge for it. Will go out and mow my yard sometime today. Right now it is a little wet. Did take out the trash and have the chicken cooking to cool off for later.
Everyone have a great day and you too Chris!!

Good morning friends.
Thanks for starting us off Chris. Hope your day improves. The wings were delicious. I always use Alton Brown's recipe. You steam the wings for 10 minutes, then put them on a wire rack. The wire rack should be on a baking sheet that has paper towels on them. Put them in the fridge for about and hour and then bake at 425*. I raise my oven temp so the wings get crispier.
Lori, How's your leg today?
Betsy, We are changing up our vacation plans this year but I do want to get to Cape May and Wild Wood. Even if it's an overnight trip.
Elza, That was quite a day you had yesterday. Customers can be annoying. I can't stand when I'm in line at a store and a customer complains to the cashier about the cost of a particular item. Do they really think the cashier lays in bed at night thinking up prices?!
I'm in the mood for steak tonight so I think that's what we'll have.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good morning. 52 and overcast at the moment. Looks like the sun is trying to come out. Not sure what I will get into today. One of our Lions' members passed away suddenly on Sunday so will be going to the wake at 2:30 this afternoon. Spent quite a bit of time on the computer emailing members yesterday to arrange for a time for us to go as a group. We normally do a short service but no time to arrange that since I didn't find out until yesterday about the death and arrangements. My trunk is full of deposit cans and bottles from the group that was renting next door that I really need to go through and sort as I saw a few things that aren't retunables that I need to remove. May just go dump them in my trailer and sort them and after the wake make a trip to the redemption center. It is only about 12 miles from my house.
I need to go see if any of my pump sprayers work. It seems that deer jumped the fence on my lower gardens. No longer have any cauliflower, green peppers look sad and the green beans have been nibbled on. Have been planting down there for at least seven years and never had a problem. Not a real happy camper.
Elza, sorry about your day yesterday. Hope today is a better one.
Chris, I think we have all had days like yours started today. However, be careful is you decide to hide under your desk. You may end up bumping your head. LOL Sure hope things improve.
Betsy, steak sounds good. As usual I have no idea what I am eating tonight. I really need to get back to making at least a weekly menu. Did that a few weeks ago however and then changed everything when it came time to fix it. Right now it is difficult with working nights and not eating until I get home at 10:30-11 PM.
Marlene, I love casseroles made with burger. Let us know how it turns out.
Lori, how is your leg today?
Have a great day.
Bet

Bet- I have a big desk and can almost lay under it! LOL Sorry about the sudden loss of a friend.
Nancy I will have to look up that recipe and try it for DS as he likes buffalo wings. thanks,
Chris

Good afternoon friends. Today is National Pecan Pie Day.
After exercising this morning I had to drive over to Kohl's for an order I placed. Since arriving back home I am working on the laundry--getting ready to do a little ironing.
Poor Chris, sorry about the day you are having, but hopefully the afternoon has turned for the better. I think we've all been there, done that, but it doesn't make us feel any better at the time all is down.
Bet, sorry about the loss of your club member that passed away; nice that the members can go as a group this afternoon to the wake. Oh no, sorry to see the deer have jumped the fence and are helping themselves to your garden. I don't blame you for not being a happy camper.
Marlene your chicken salad does sound good. I would make that right now except I am out of lettuce and grapes, so instead I have 4 boneless chicken thighs that I will cut up and mix for a sandwich filling. If the rain will hold off this afternoon, DH wants to cut the lawn again today--it grows so fast in this heat and humidity.
Nancy, neither DH or myself are wing people, but your recipe sounds good. I think I could do it with the little drumsticks which we both would like.
I have a box of popcorn shrimp in the freezer that is taking up too much room. I'll make some fries and have a salad with and call it dinner this evening.
My leg is red and already has scabbed over, so it is feeling a bit better today. When I spoke to DH on his lunch break he warned me to be careful and not to trip over anything today. Told him I'll do my best, but I'm not going to sit around and do nothing today--just not me. If it happens it happens--these legs aren't going to be in any beauty contest anyways.
Waving to all!
Lori

Hi !
Chris, I hope your day has turned itself around. Wow, that is a lot to go wrong. I remember having a morning like that not long ago. I just wanted to go back to bed and start all over.
I thought I was playing bunco this afternoon since one of the residents kept telling Dh to remind that I would be getting a phone call, asking me to sub. I never heard from anyone, so I went over to the dining hall and asked her. She is the hostess NEXT week! so, now I have all afternoon free. I need to go and check the mail, since I forgot yesterday. We are waiting on papers from the bank to redeem MIL's cd's and also my new debit card should be here by today. They said 5-7 days and it was 7 yesterday- business days.
Guess I will be forced to do some housework! It's not bad but there are a couple things that could look better.
Not sure about supper. I thought DH was going to fire up the smoker this week, but he hasn't yet. I saw some ground beef in the freezer so will probably thaw that and do something with it.
Lori, glad your leg is getting better.
Bet, this is probably too little, too late but I have heard you can buy some spray that deters the deer from gardens. It is supposed to be based on fox urine, if I remember right. Sorry your veggies have been eaten by someone (something) else, not the sower! So sorry about the loss of your friend.
It is sunny right now but we have a slight chance of rain later in the day.
Waving to all, hope you all are having a super day!

Good afternoon.
Nice day here. Humidity is gone and the temp is pleasant.
I am about to drop dd off at the high school. She has freshman orientation today. She's not happy about it. But, school starts in 11 days. Hard to believe but it is so.
Chris, I had that kind of day yesterday. Horrible. Nancy, glad you are getting away this summer. I am going to take youngest dd to the Getty Museum next week while we are in LA for UCLA orientation. No parents allowed at the college orientation. Fine by me. Not sure what else we will do but dd thinks needs clothes so we will shop.
I am making pizza tonight and also having left over salmon on Caesar Salad.
Waving to all.
Betsy

I did make it to the grocery today so will be feasting on plums and cherries and nectarines for the next few days. Stopped off at the library to drop off yet another unread book and to pick up another one. Maybe this will be the one? I don't know what's for supper, probably some fruit and cheese. Hoping you have better luck tomorrow, Chris. Sometimes you just wish you could pull the covers back up over your head and tell the world to go away when it's a Murphy's Law day. Lori, I sure hope your leg is better. Last week I dropped a glass on the kitchen tile and the broken pieces just flew everywhere. Of course, I then promptly stepped on a piece. These things happen so fast that one minute you're fine and the next minute you're wishing your mommy was still around to kiss it better. I hear thunder in the distance. Music to my ears. Sweet dreams.

Chris, bless your heart, I hope your day ended better than it started. I think you deserve an extra HC for that.
My day went really well -- got a lot of things done -- the only glitch was that I had to go to the dentist because a tooth became suddenly very sensitive to cold while we were on vacation. Didn't get better, even after using the Sensodyne toothpaste, so I made an appointment. Turns out there is a crack in the tooth so I need a crown. The dentist wanted to put a temporary crown on right then but I couldn't stay for another 1-1/2 hours! That will be done next Tuesday. Till then I'm supposed to be careful and eat soft foods. Looks like soup and pudding and applesauce are on my menus for the weekend. The good news is, I don't need a root canal, just the filling replaced and the crown put on. I've never had this done before so hopefully it will all go smoothly.
DH is taking his mother to Alabama this weekend to see her last surviving brother. He's in a nursing home and has had some bad spells recently so she wanted to get out there and DH had offered to take her this summer while he's off. His sister is going with them as well. DMIL & DSIL will be here tomorrow and spend the night before they leave out on Saturday.
Marlene, how did the hamburger casserole turn out?
Betsy, the Getty Museum sounds good. I love art museums.
Nancy, I know what you mean about customers fussing at the cashier. Working behind a counter definitely gives you a different perspective. When I hear someone giving the cashier a hard time about not having enough people working, I'm thinking, "You know, s/he doesn't make the schedule!" Overall we have really great customers but there are always a few who are a little bit challenging. 😒
Bet, I'm sorry to hear about your friend's death. I'm not surprised that you are the one who took the time to make sure everybody got the news and organized the group attending.
Tammy, hope you get your debit card quickly! I know that a holiday like July 4 always slows things down so maybe that is what was holding it up. We are so used to them that it's hard to do without.
Helen, all your fruit sounds wonderful. I just finished up a bag of dark cherries. I love those this time of year.
Lori, glad to hear that your leg is improving. I cut mine pretty badly on the edge of a metal file box in our basement several years ago. And what did I do? Slap a band-aid on it and go to my spin class at the gym. 🤦♀️ Not my smartest move. It healed up fine but it sure was sore that afternoon!

Good evening. Today I finally took the time to make myself a good dinner. I had jalapeno infused fettuccine Alfredo. It was so good.
