Thought since I seem to have a harder time getting here until later in the day, this morning I'd sit down first thing and write.
According to the early morning news today is National Pina Colada Day and Pick Blueberries Day. I also see at this early hour the 10th boy has been recused from the cave in Thailand; just two boys and their coach remain and hopefully they'll soon be out too.
No idea what I'm making for dinner at this hour, but I'll pull something from the freezer. I am finally starting to see some shelving inside the big stand alone freezer by strictly focusing on using what is inside and avoiding some sales. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have enough down so as to be able to defrost it.
Yesterday we hit 93* and with not a breeze anywhere to be found, it felt like 105*. The thunder we had last night never brought rain and none is expected until maybe the weekend. Currently 77*, it's like a steam bath outside so time to hit the bike this morning before the sun gets up.
Other then doing some small things around the house, nothing much is happening here. Hope each of you have a terrific Tuesday--waving to all.

Good morning Lori and all who drop by later.
Our heatwave is back altho not as bad as last week.
I think today I must get to the grocery store - several things on my list that we are out if completely - including bird seed. They make enough noise when the feeders are full, can you imagine what it'd be like if they were telling me they were hungry!
It's also time to do some housework. It has been ignored the last week while I concentrated on the yard sale. But that was time well spent as we raised over $3500.
Not sure about supper yet altho probably salad of some kind. Hubby picked our first tomato yesterday 🙂 .
Have a terrific Tuesday 😎

Good morning~ It looks like another hot one today. I need to go out and fill my tank on the golf cart with chemicals so I can spray some more weeds that are starting up again. It is a never ending job. Now we have so much water grass taking over, first was white clover now water grass. We get it all out on the farm. Have to keep after it or would look terrible around here.
Want to scrub my kitchen today and clean out there today. So will see how much I get done. Have a couple checks to get in at the bank and get cashed but not big hurry to do so.
Good luck to you Lori on getting freezer cleaned out. Right now mine looks pretty good. Need to see what I have in bars out there in case I get some company. Tasty that was great money you made on the garage sale. Here things have to be cheap or they do not go. Then I always think better to donate clothes as to give them to whoever.

Good morning friends.
Betsy, Well that was a scary moment for you and your DS! Glad he is alright. I had to laugh about the banana story lol. I too always remind DH if he goes to CVS to use our phone # for the club card.
Tammy, So Helen likes the rag sheets! My mom did too. Sometimes she would tell us about a news story and all of us would ask if she red it in the Star or the Enquirer lol. However, the stories were never false, go figure.
Tasty, Congrats to all for raising so much $.
Bet, You had mentioned your dog was named Trouble. That was the dogs name on the Walton's t.v. show but you probably already know that.
Marlene, I need to clean the top of my cabinets. When I'm done I put down waxed paper so every time I clean up there it's not such a hassle.
Ann, The verde sauce looks delish.
Lori, Now you have me in the mood for a pina colada. I didn't pick blueberries but I did by blackberries yesterday.
Tonight DH will have what is left of the halibut and the girls can decide as to what they would like.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good morning. 61 here and mostly overcast. We are to get Tshowers this afternoon. I got here to read yesterday but was too tired to even considering trying to put together anything that made sense. Sunday I worked 8 1/2 hours so it was midnight by the time I got to bed. It was an absolute zoo for the first 6 hours. I never stopped running. The only thing I did yesterday was water. Everything needed it. I did find out that it is 150 feet up to the new area where the lamp post is. Once I got all the pots and baskets watered I put the sprinkler on the big vegetable garden. I slept 12 hours last night. Not sure what I will do today since I have the 3 GGkids plus I have to go to work at 4. I do need to get the sprinkler down to the lower beds and then on the kitchen garden. I happened to look down yesterday and looks like something got into the garden and ate all my cauliflower plants. They were just getting ready to head up. I have seen a rabbit running around here which is very unusual. Only a small animal could get in there. Also the broccoli that was still in flats were coming back and just about ready to plant but they are also gone and the cabbage plants this time.
Lori, such great news that you are going to be grandparents. It is a wonderful time of life. Enjoy every minute of it.
Betsy, glad to hear your son is OK.
Nancy, hope you foot is doing OK and you are back in the pool by Saturday.
Tasty, that is a great profit for a one day garage sale. The Lions' one runs 2 days and we made about $6,000. We don't price very many things. Folks just make an offer and it is amazing what they will pay for some things.
Eliza, hope your day is flying by.
Anne, that verde sauce looks great. It is something I have never eaten.
Tammy, what are the lemon cake balls. Sound interesting.
My mind is a bit foggy from too much sleep last night so I am sure I have forgotten someone.
Have a great day.

Good morning friends,
It's muggy and cloudy here today. Looks like rain.
Not much going on today. Having a grill I bought dh put together today. I won't let him do it. He doesn't have time for one.
Yesterday we went to Costco. We have 2 weeks until dd starts high school so we are starting to get ready for that as next week we will be gone.
DS went to work last night and the ballpark and I guess all went well. He is dropping off the pup today so he can run errands. I suspect in a few months it will be the puppy and Poppy that will get dropped off so they can run errands. I think I will buy a pack and play this week so I am ready. :)
Dinner will be grilled salmon, rice, salad and a veggie.
Have a great day. Betsy

Afternoon, friends! Heat and humidity is ramping up again; we have the AC on low and the fans running. Went to BJ's today...mainly to pick up coffee, Milano cookies and veggie straws for my mom, but we had a few coupons to use, too. Once home and all was put away, I made a goulash with leftovers for supper tonight. We'll have spinach with vinegar onions on the side. Does anyone else have vinegar onions on wilted spinach?!? As a child, it was a typical side dish with goulash (rice, meat, veggies). Chris - Lawrence, MA is a hub of the opioid trade. We have so many illegal immigrants who are dealers, it's crazy. It's usually young men from the Dominican Republic looking to make a fast buck. It's so rampant that they deal the stuff right out in the open!! If caught and deported, they just change their identity and come back!! It's scary for all due to the fact that fentanyl is now being mixed with the heroin, and the first responders, including the drug dogs, are in grave danger. They have begun to carry Narcan for themselves and their dogs!!! I just read that Trader Joe's has the "best" frozen food aisle with oodles of great choices. I'm still working on emptying my cube and side x side freezers, too. Betsy - There is a challenge in the Volunteer Field Editors' newsletter this month to try and review a set of recipes. One of them is a "Pan-Seared Salmon with Dill Sauce". I'm going to make it with that last of my dill pesto, and I will add the required yogurt but replace the mayo in the sauce with the oil in the pesto. Bet - That verde sauce is just that...green sauce; it's different from pesto in that there are no nuts. Tammy - I agree with Bet, those lemon cake balls sound really good; DH would love them, I'm sure. I'm going to get a "free" sample from Gustus Vitae spice company for a "granulated sugar flavored with chocolate, cinnamon and a touch of cayenne". I'm supposed to make one sweet and one savory dish and submit them to TOH. I have until July 22nd. My thinking cap is on!! Any thoughts? My thoughts are...chili for the savory and nuts with a sweet glaze. I also looked up wacky cake and I would make some sort of frosting with the spice mix. Or maybe a take on Mexican cocoa made into an ice cream soda!!! Waving!

Hi ! Ann, the ice cream soda with that spice sounds interesting to me. I'm not very creative when it comes to thinking of new things.
I had one lemon cake pop that was not covered very well with the almond bar, so I gave to the guys who are working at the coffee shop and about 4 of them shared it. They thought it was awesome. Bet, the way to make cake balls are to bake a regular box mix (any flavor) then when it is done, and cool, crumble it up. Add about 1 can of icing and smush it all together. Form balls and put them on a stick (like a lollipop) and dip in melted chocolate or almond bark. I made lemon cake, lemon icing and almond bark. You can be very creative with the flavors. Somewhere I printed a list from the old TOH BB of flavor combinations. The guys at the coffee shop say they will sell fast. We are almost out of brownies so I will bake a pan of those tonight or tomorrow. While I was there I got a couple hot dogs for DH, and a panini for me for lunch. I was trying to go by memory and used an entire can of icing. Later on I read a blog and she said to use only about 2/3 of the can. I did have to pop them in the freezer for quite awhile before I was able to dip them.
I woke up around 3:30 and was wide awake so got up for awhile. then I went back to bed and sure did not want tog et up when DH woke me. I was a little late getting the boy dog to the groomers. After that I went by Walmart and another grocery store. I got 2 pork shoulders at the sale price of $1.00 a pound, for DH to use for the pulled pork later this month.
I'm still full from lunch so not sure what will be for supper tonight. I do have the ribs and thought about trying them in the instant pot, but I don't think either of us will be very hungry tonight.
Bet, so sorry that a critter ate your veggies! Sounds like he had a feast!
When I got back home, I let the girl dog outside. She is good about staying right in the yard (as opposed to the boy dog), so she was outside wile I carried in groceries. Well she found something very stinky and rolled all in it. Maybe cat poo, I 'm not sure but my goodness it smelled to high heaven, so I had to bathe her as soon as she came inside.
Chris, the photo is not that bad! Sorry they got your name wrong.
Today is hot and sunny, I think our daily rain showers are now in the past. Hope you all are having a great day.

Chris, congratulations on your new job and the newspaper article. That's what they call a candid shot and you look great. Betsy, so glad your son is okay. Mom's can never stop worrying! We had another wicked thunderstorm today but this time it poured. Sometimes I think the pool will overflow but it's not supposed to and never has. For supper I'm having a sheet pan of roasted potato wedges, sliced onions, and real carrots. I can smell them now and the aroma is heavenly. I'll just let them caramelize a little and then wolf them down. :o Sweet dreams.

Chris, that was great to see you "on the job" -- thanks for sharing!
Ann, that spiced sugar mixture sounds intriguing. My first thought was to use it as a coating for cookies or donut holes. I'll be interested to hear what you do with it.
Helen, I love almost any kind of roasted vegetable but especially potatoes! I know you enjoyed that.
Lori, I was very glad to see that all the boys and their coach had been rescued from the cave in Thailand. Many prayers answered there!
Tasty and Bet, y'all really know how to run a yard sale! Very nice returns on those. Bet, I like the idea of letting people make an offer, because pricing is one of the most time-consuming things. I tend to just use colored stickers -- pink is one price, green another, etc., so I don't have to write prices on things. Of course, I haven't had a yard sale since we moved, 5-1/2 years ago.
Tammy, those lemon cake pops sound yummy.
Betsy, you're smart to be getting things ready now. Had to smile at "puppy and Poppy"!
Marlene, sounds like you will be busy as usual today. Hope you got done what you wanted to do.
My sister emailed me right before I left work to see if we wanted to meet them at Logan's for dinner, so of course the answer to that was "yes"! DH always gets the ribeye, but I don't want steak every time so I tend to skip around the menu a little more. Tonight I had fried catfish with a baked sweet potato and green bean casserole -- a new limited-time side. I liked it but it would have been better with just a little less black pepper.
