Good morning friends.
Still hazy, hot and humid here.
Tammy, My computer is moving slow so I didn't get to see the video yet. Good thing you were able to get another debit card and that the creeps didn't get away with spending thousands.
Yesterday youngest DD went to a friends pool and then had dinner at her house. So for dinner, she will have the steak that I made yesterday and the rest of us will have Lloyd's ribs. Sides tbd.
I also made tuna mac yesterday so DH is looking forward to his lunch today.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. 69 here this morning but to hit 90 again today and tomorrow. Yesterday I did get the back deck and side porch deadheaded and watered. Also got the rest of the plants out of the house and onto the side porch.
I did break down and put the A/C on for a while yesterday. It was so hat working outside that even when I came in the house the sweat was still dripping off my hair. I have my hair very short and it is wet all the time if I move in these temperatures. Even in the A/C at work Sunday I had the same problem.
This morning I got all the plants on the front deck watered but not deadheaded. I am now carrying all the pots etc. to the garage and getting them put up. My goal is to have the last greenhouse down tomorrow and the front deck completely done.
Addison came at 7:30. The other 3 were suppose to come but just got a text they won't be here.
Well it has been a couple of hours since I started this but have been busy. Everything is to the garage that needs to go there, put the hose on the big vegetable garden and now has been moved to the lower raised beds. When I got the hose done there they were still in the shade so wed the 4x12 and 4x8. I can actually seed the vegetable plants in there now. When the hose is finished down there will drag it back up to the kitchen garden and get that watered before I have to get ready to go to work.
Going out and try to get everything moved out of the greenhouse so it is ready to take down tomorrow and move a bunch of potted plants that are in the way of doing that. The rest of the plants that are waiting to be planted will get moved to seed racks that are on the catwalk. The heat index is 95 right now so not too sure how much more I will get done. Only have 3 hours. The thermometer on the front deck says 104.
Have a great day.

Morning! It's hot and steamy again today. I didn't even open the windows this morning to get some fresh air. It's supposed to be the "worst" of the heat wave today around here. We finished shopping today for tomorrow. I'm going to make a taco dip and the ginger-lime slaw today so the flavors will meld. I will cook the pasta, but will not mix it up with the fruit and chili-lime dressing until tomorrow. Tonight we are having lobster salad on toasted Aldi brioche rolls, a side salad, and a small serving of extra-crispy tater tots. Stay cool, everyone! Waving!

Good morning all. Lovely day here. We have been very lucky with the summer weather so far but it looks like that will end soon as we will be joining everyone in a heatwave. Good news this morning. The College Board gave UCLA dd's Ap tests early and UCLA gave them to DD. She got a score of 5 which is the highest on three of her AP tests and she got a 4 on the Stats one. She hated Stats so she is thrilled. UCLA she said she could skip her first two years of math and head straight to Calculus. LOL, I said and that is good news? I am getting my haircut at 4 today so will put a turkey breast in the crockpot for hot turkey sandwiches for an easy meal. Ann, I want to eat dinner at your house. Waving to all. Betsy

Have had a busy morning. Jeff and I went up to the folks house and picked up all the branches that fell. Took us 1 1/2 hrs. to get all done with forks on tractor. So glad that is done. Terry did not mow over the week-end was to lazy to pick up sticks so we did and I paid Jeff for doing his work. If he does not mow I have someone who will do the mowing until time for the sale of land. Won't deal with him!! I had him served with papers to moved out by 29th of July so he is being smart about it. Will be so glad when someone else owns it. I called 4 people yesterday on the mowing and heard back from one.
Our temps are very high here. I will probably mow tomorrow. I will bake a peach pie and make a pan of lasagna for the supper at church. Won't play the games but will come home after eating. Fireworks don't really impress me anymore so can do without them.
Have a great day everyone. Marlene

Good afternoon friends. Happy 4th of July Eve; food holidays are Eat Beans Day and National Chocolate Wafer Day.
Went on another long bike ride this morning. Since I returned I finished the ironing I didn't complete yesterday, then baked some Vegan cookies for a friend who is celebrating her birthday on Saturday. This was a new recipe I tried for her rather then the several I've used in the past. I think the cookies have a nice taste, but I'm disappointed how how flat they were. I chilled the dough as suggested, but they still spread out more then I'd have liked. We'll see what she thinks of them.
I just finish a turkey sandwich and cup of coffee for my breakfast/lunch. No cooking dinner tonight, DH and I will be out so we'll pick something up.
The east coast rain is moving closer. Our bright sunny morning is now a blanket of gray and the winds are beginning to move the tree leaves. That will help to keep our temperatures down a bit, still at 91*, our humidity makes it feel over 100*. Something spinning out in the Atlantic today, but forecasters say it only has a 1% chance of development right now. Hope it stays that way.
Well, break time is done; I need to hop in the shower and get this salty sweat off me. Take care and I'm waving to all.
Lori

Hot and humid again . . . Will it never end?
I did go shopping this morning for a few things so that I can bake for the bake table at the yard sale. Still not sure just what I will make, altho I do know that the bread machine will be whirring away this afternoon.
Congrats to your DD Betsy. She is a very bright young lady. Does she know what she wants to do after college? You and hubby must be very proud of her.
Marlene, it will be a good thing when Terry moves out. You don't need that kind of tenant!
Ann, your meals always sound yummy 😊
Bet, do you ever take time to sit and enjoy all the work you do outside?
The heat and humidity are going to be around here for a few more days Nancy and I guess it will be headed east towards you.
Supper tonight will be salad, using up some of the odds and ends in the fridge 🙄
We were posting at the same time Lori. Hope whatever is going on in the Atlantic comes to nothing.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi. I just heard that the store won't be ready until August. So I am sure he won't hook up internet for 1 month. So far they haven't done what they said and to raise our rent that much. Plus not let us sell with our additions and decks on. Grrrr.
We had another storm thru the night not as many branches in yard as yesterday.
Betsy- congratulations to your daughter.
Lori-your bike ride sounds great.
Ann- lobster salad sounds yummy. Save me a bowl.
Marlene- I take it we are talking about a different Terry? Give Red a pet from me.
Nancy- thanks for starting us.

Good Afternoon ! Smothered steak is on the menu for tonight. I am browning the meat now, and it will go in the oven. I bought some frozen creamed corn, and I picked a couple green tomatoes from the garden to fry.
I got the cat delivered to the mobile vet service, and I will go pick her up between 3 and 4. No more kittens, yay!
Betsy, how wonderful for your DD. She is quite bright!
Nancy, the card that is compromised was my debit card, so there is a limited amount in that account, way under a thousand! It still irks me that they got away with just over $100.00. Another charge is still pending, so I think that it got stopped in time.
We got a check in the mail from a cd that MIL had, so DH plans on buying 4 new tires for the truck.
We have no plans for the fourth. There was going to be a golf cart parade, but only a very few signed up so not sure if that is still going to happen. It is too hot to be outside around here, at 10 a.m., so I don't mind if it is cancelled. I have not heard what they are serving for lunch. Sometimes they grill out. We usually play cards Wednesday nights so not sure if that is going to happen either.
Yesterday at the store I bought meat for supper but have nothing planned for the rest of the week yet. I brought back a few very old TOH magazines from MIL's. I sure did like the old format. When RD bought it, it went way downhill for me.
Need to go and check on my meat. Have a nice and cool day, hopefully!

Tammy, since you reported the unauthorized charges quickly, you shouldn't be liable for any of them. Typically the bank can get your money refunded within a few days. It's just annoying -- I know, I've been there too. Also, I haven't watched it yet but I saw that another friend of mine had a link to the video you mentioned on his FB page. He and his family attended our church in Louisville when he was a student at Southern Seminary. He's now pastor of a church in Indiana, but he's from Ponca City, Oklahoma! Small world! Betsy, kudos to your daughter! Those AP tests are such a boost for incoming freshmen, allowing them to skip a lot of the basic core courses and get right into their major. DS#1 did the same thing -- got a high enough score on the Calculus BC test to completely skip freshman calculus. He was into his junior or senior year before he told me that a math class was "really hard." My response -- "it's about dadgum time!" LOL My first day back at work was a busy one -- my feet are reminding me tonight that I haven't been on my feet all day in over a week. Tomorrow we're going over to have burgers with my sister and DBIL. We're taking chips and dessert. I think I'm going to make an apple crisp and get some ice cream to have with it. Big waves to everyone ~
