Good morning friends.
Happy belated birthday to your DS Betsy! Sorry to hear that things have been difficult with your mom lately. Hugs to you and your sister.
Happy belated Canada day to Tasty and all our other Canadian friends.
Yesterday I went food shopping early due to the heat. Youngest DD and I spent the day at the pool.
For dinner, youngest DD had the leftovers from the night before as we ate out. DH and I had BLT's and oldest DD had bacon and eggs. Youngest DD friend spent the night and she had bacon and eggs too.
Not much else happening here.
Safe travels to all who out and about.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

I just got back from a shopping run -- had a return to take back to Kohls, then went to Sam's and finally Publix. I think we should be good for the week. Trying to get a few things done before I go back to work tomorrow. Of course, we're closed on Wednesday for the 4th so it will be a short week and I'm pretty happy about that. I have a new recipe from TOH that I want to try tonight, for Tortilla Pie. It calls for ground beef but I think I may try it with chicken instead.

Hi ! Hope it is a good day so far for everyone.
First thing today I had to call my bank about a charge with my debit card. They called me Saturday, an automated call), asking if I had made a charge in Houston for $102.02. I said no. They connected me to an operator and she said I had to call Monday and get me card cancelled, a new card issued, and fill out a dispute form and send in to get my money back. I found out this morning that these creeps who stole my card number tried to make another online purchase. Hopefully I called in time to stop that one.
I baked some banana bread this morning to take in to the coffee shop. I had frozen scones from Schwan's and baked those too. They seem way to sweet for me (I did not think anything would ever be too sweet for me!), so I am taking them in.
Lunch was a frozen pot pie that I cooked for DH, and I had chicken parm tv dinner. I found a recipe for baked salmon loaf at MIL's so will run by the store and get the ingredients for that-that will be supper probably with some mac and cheese.
We noticed that there was a film crew all weekend at the reunion. We found out that it was CBS and a segment will air tonight on the 10 p.m. news. Mr. Moore was the music director at the high school for 30 years. The program excelled and won many awards. He was also our choir director at church. There were about 600 former students, choir members, etc that attended Saturday night. The school is in the process of building a new music venue for concerts and it is going to be named after Mr. Moore. As a side note-DH posted on facebook about the reunion a little while back. A friend that we used to go to church with in Oklahoma City, back in the 1970's said her DH had been the accompanist while he was in high school for a director named Robert Moore, in Frederick MD. She wondered if it was the same Mr. Moore. I really doubted that it was. We did not know where Mr. Moore was before he moved to Ponca City. I thought that if we get a chance to ask him we would, but he was totally surrounded at all times by his "fans"! He attended my MIL's funeral -she was in his choir for many years so DH got to visit with him then. Well, during the concert and tribute they mentioned him moving here from Frederick! He was from Oklahoma originally. He grew up in Pawhuska-the same town that the Pioneer Woman is from. Small world!!
The concert was very good, lots of great musical numbers by assorted former students, some directed by guys that became music teachers because of Mr. Moore's influence. There were lots of photos, reminiscing, and at the end when he got up to speak, you could tell he was very emotional and had been touched deeply by the tribute. Afterwards they served delicious chicken salad sandwiches on mini croissants, a fruit tray and cheese tray, then birthday cake. That was our supper Saturday! They hired a stretch limo to bring him to and from the events!
Need to go and check on the laundry then head in to town.
Oh, the news clip can been seen on www.news9.com if anyone is interested. We saw the cameras but I don't think we were ever close enough to be in any of the shots.

emr--that tortilla pie recipe looks good. Please let us know what you think about it. For myself, I would make it with corn tortillas because I like them better than the wheat--taste more "Mexican" to me.
Tammy--I had a similar problem with a credit card, not debit. The bank blocked it as soon as the charges came in--apparently there are certain things that alert them. In my case, they were international charges for a dating service and flowers! Seems like I was having a good time dating and I never knew it. Hope you stopped the card before those people got more. At least with the credit card you can't be hit with more than $50 max for a fraudulent charge. But these days, they seem to be on top of it more and will automatically block them with just your say-so without going through a lot of paperwork. In the past 5 years, I've had my credit card replaced automatically three times by Bank of America because of those questionable charges.
With this heat, supper tonight will be macaroni salad again, only this time with tuna and hard-boiled egg. I've been cooking my HB eggs in the instant pot. The steaming seems to make them really easy to peel.

Hello friends. Hope everyone had a nice day.
Took a long bike drive over to the gulf this morning, walked the beach a bit, then had the long ride back home. After a long cool shower, I made a pot of turkey soup, made another meal with chicken for later this week, made up some cookie dough that I'll bake tomorrow, and then ironed clothes. I also ran over to the library to get a new book.
Yesterday after I baked the turkey, I made the white chocolate chip and cranberry cookies and then made some chocolate and cherry vanilla zucchini breads. Very happy I had some fresh baked good as the neighbors next door stopped by in the evening. The granddaughter was visiting, age 4, and Grandma and her made cream puffs. As I slid them off the plate, I filled her plate back up with zucchini breads and cookies.
Dinner this evening was hot turkey sandwiches with the left over mashed potatoes and gravy.
Waving to all. Sweet dreams my friends. Lori

An old family favourite from my childhood for supper this evening - a ground beef casserole with potatoes and peas, or mince & tatties, as it was called at home. This is what the guys had after golf last Thursday night. Hubby told me what they had had and I just had to make it for supper. Happily, hubby was OK with having it again so soon 😊
Way too hot to spend much time outside today - I cancelled my golf game but hubby played. At least the guys rode carts today rather than their usual of walking. I pottered around and did a little prep for the yard sale this weekend, a little house work and a little towards the Festival of Trees.
Later in the afternoon, we spent some time outside watering and hubby dug a few plants for me, ready for the yard sale so I think my plants are ALL ready. Iwill be glad not to have to water them next week 🙄
Tomorrow will likely be more of the same as the weather will stay hot and humid. When I checked a few minutes ago, just after 8 pm, it was still 88 F and feels like 108F - not my idea of nice summer weather.
Have a good night😊

We liked the tortilla pie but I would definitely add more seasoning if I make it again. It wasn't as spicy as I'd expected. I think it needs a little hot sauce! It is a good size when cooking for two --
