Good morning and Happy first of July!
We had a great time at the NQID parade yesterday in Watebury! Not Quite Independence Day. Ben and Gerry's tossed out ice cream and Cabot tossed out Cheese! Lots of other foods too! LOL
Hope everyone in this heat wave can stay cool!
Chris (Had to have and HC this morning!)

We had another storm last night and got 2"rain again. The pump kicked in twice this morning so slowly coming in so ground levels are getting higher. When it runs constantly that is annoying!! Things could be worse, could lose furnace and hot water heater and that would not be fun. On my pump that runs the leech field they put a siren on it when it is getting full or not working it goes off. Went off earlier then was on all night. I got in the golf cart and ran off to shut it off. The light just stays on. I wish they would take the siren off and just have a light that comes on. Very annoying!! Glad I do not have close neighbors they would hate me! It does this as water comes off of the field into the lines. I think this fall when I tile the ground it will help it. Let's hope.
Going to church and do not know the rest of the day. I could just sit and rest but does not sound like much fun.
Hope you all have a nice Sunday doing what you want you want to do.

Morning! Just came in from watering everything; it's humid but not hot...yet! It's supposed to get to feeling like 101° degrees today. We're in for the day, for sure. Tonight I have brussies to use...may just steam them or maybe I'll make a salad with the raw. Will finish the "goulash" for dinner. Gonna get me a shower, and then I'll read the Sundies. Here's a picture of the Sicilian Potato Salad and the Pressure Cooked Memphis-Style Ribs...both delicious.

Good morning all.
It is Canada Day here and lots of festivities going on but it is too hot to want to go into town and take part. It is not yet 9 am and the temp is 77F- not bad in itself but it feels like 95. The actual temperature is expected to be about 90 so who knows what that will feel like.
The grass badly needs to be cut but there is no way that will happen. With temps like we have it won't be growing much - it will have to wait. About all I'm doing outside is watering late in the day ( I have about 70 pots of plants, waiting to go to the yard sale later in the week - I HAVE to keep them watered).
Supper will be something light - and preferably little work! Probably salad and maybe BBQ chicken. Ice cream for dessert.
Have a super Sunday :)

Good morning friends. Today is Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day and National Gingersnap Day.
Tasty, Happy Canada Day to you and hubby.
Ann, your dinner picture looks yummy.
Chris, glad you had a fun time at the parade yesterday.
Marlene, we've been getting a lot of rain the past two days. Today was suppose to be dry and DH was looking forward to finally being able to cut the grass, but out of now where, a good heavy shower just came down. Hopefully that will be it and DH can still get the cutting done before he goes over to visit his best friend Fred late this afternoon.
Tammy, enjoy your trip on the road today as you drive back home.
I have a turkey baking already this morning in the oven--the house smells so good.
Need to go now. Hope to stop by again later today. Take care.

Good morning.
Happy Canada Day! It's also my son's birthday. He turns 27 today. We are having a family party around 4. He works today. He just got his new police dept schedule and he will be on day shift for the next three months. He will have weekends off.
We will be grilling today. Carne asada and pollo asada. He requested a chocolate peanut butter cake. So, I will make that this morning.
My mom has been a real challenge lately. My sister and I have been trying to decide how to fix this. It's not easy for sure and my mom is uncooperative.
Waving to all.

Betsy, Happy Birthday to your son! Sounds like a wonderful dinner later today and how nice that he will be on days with his weekends free (I see many family dinners like today in the next 12 weeks)--enjoy!! Sorry your Mom is being a handful right now but hopefully you and your sister can get to the bottom of it sooner then later.
My turkey is done so while the oven is hot, I think I'll bake my white chocolate-cranberry cookie dough that is sitting in the refrigerator. DH is glad about that so he can take some cookies to Fred this afternoon.
Along with the turkey and gravy, I'll have mashed potatoes, corn, cranberries, and pumpkin bread for dessert.

Good morning. All I can say is it is hot. At 10 AM the heat index was 104. I really need to water before I go to work.
Have a great day.

I forgot to say earlier happy Canada Day to all of our Canadian friends. Would someone please turn off the furnace. It is 92 with a heat index of 120. I am a limp dishrag at this point. I need to get ready for work and our shirts and slacks are black. The only saving grace is at work I will be in air conditioning. It is comfortable for the customers but when you are running around working it is still HOT.

DH & I are still getting rested up so not much happening here. Yesterday I got the laundry done and the checkbook caught up. This afternoon I need to make a grocery list so I can do some shopping tomorrow before going back to work on Tuesday.
Hot and humid today -- typical summer day -- with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. This will probably be the forecast for the next 2-3 months!
We drove up to Greenville today to see the documentary "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" about Fred Rogers. So, so good. I didn't grow up watching his show but my kids did, and I loved it as much as they did. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch (DH)/breakfast (me) on the way back. I'm heading pretty shortly for the sofa with a book -- we'll see how long I keep my eyes open. (zzz)

Hello again, this time from sunny Texas! We made it back home (again) just fine. It was raining for the first several hours. We stopped at a Dairy Queen and placed an order to go, so that was lunch. No supper planned at this point. Sorry so many of you are dealing with extreme heat. Even though I personally hate the cold, I do agree it is much easier to cope with cold temps by wearing layers. Not all that much you can do with hot temps, except stay in if you have ac.
Bet, it sounds like you accepted he job to go back to work.
Tasty, happy Canada Day!
Betsy, sorry about the problems with mom. Your DS will like having those daytime hours with weekends off!
Waving to everyone. Still need to get unpacked. Tomorrow will be laundry day for me.
