Good morning friends. I am getting ready to go tot he Poutine Festival in Manchester NH today. Leave here about noon.
I am enjoying a cup of (guess?) you know!!! LOL Yep! HC and a slice of banana strawberry bread my sons GF made for us! She made an extra loaf and gave it to us. She also made a mozzarella stuffed meatloaf and brought it to us for supper tomorrow! DH ate half yesterday! I tried it and it is so ggoooooDDD! LOL I went yesterday for my massage and ended up staying in Proctorsville for supper. They had a huge town pot luck. I went to the store and got some cheese and crackers as my contribution and had a feast! 2 bands and they were good. Lots of 60's music.
Happy Birthday Betsy and hope you have a great week end away.
Chris

Hello friends.
Thanks for starting us off Chris.
Happy birthday Betsy and enjoyed your birthday get away.
Lori, It was me who saw the Oscar Meir Weiner Mobile. Can't get over how huge it was. I didn't get to see the inside. Once it pulled into a the store driveway it kept going.
Last night the kids had Chinese food and DH and I had Thai. The kids are having the leftover Chinese for dinner since there's so much left. I'll make DH a burger.
After I pick oldest DD up from work she wants to stop a new burger place for lunch. I'm going to get a chicken club sandwich and onion rings for DH and I to split for lunch. Since we have no leftover Thai food I am going to grill burgers for him and I for dinner.
Cool and overcast here today. Just shut the a/c off.
Looks like our trip north isn't going to happen since most places are booked. We plan on heading south some time soon to either north or south Carolina, maybe Florida. Still working on it.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Hey, everybody. I'm relaxing in our room before the wedding tonight. Just got back from having ice cream (coffee toffee -- yum!) with my brother, DSIL & niece. Our hotel is beside a marina and we have really enjoyed the water view, especially since there is a big raft race going on today. Looking forward to seeing more of the family, including DS#2, at the wedding. It is very hot and humid but the breeze off the water helps a lot. It's an outdoor wedding so we need all the help we can get.

It's raining and thundering but not cooling. I did some shopping but am home safely in the AC now. I have a pot of ham and beans simmering on the stove. Should be good later for supper. I picked up a small cherry pie at Publix for dessert. Wishing you all a happy weekend.

Have fun Chris! Betsy Happy Birthday wishes to you also. Hope you have a fun week-end. Nancy all the food sounds good. I am ready to go out for some good food. Just have not decided where.
I went to Atlantic this morning and got rid of folks clothes at Salvation Army. Was closer than Council Bluffs. Went to the jeweler there and he was not in the store until after the 1st of July. I have Mil's ring that has 4 big diamonds in it and she had it in a band and I want a prettier ring made out of it and in yellow gold. Might put some small sapphires with it. Just need some ideas. So will go back again. The diamonds, one was her ring, one was her mother's and other two were her aunts. Her diamond is the most expensive. So want something made that is pretty.
It is a nice day out there kind of cloudy and not so hot. But the hot weather is to come back again.

Good Afternoon ! It sounds like everyone is busy and having a nice time today.
DH had to get up early and go help a new resident get his rv moved into a space. He also ate breakfast while he was at the care center, so was not interested in lunch. I had a sandwich of leftover meatloaf. Supper is going to be grilled pinwheel steaks, cucumber salad and probably potatoes of some kind.
It is sunny and really hot today. Have not heard the exact temp or the feel like temperature.
The house next door to us has been vacant ever since we were here in 2015, and I heard that it was possibly vacant for about 10 years before that. I did hear recently that the owner who was in a nursing home in Louisiana had passed away. Last night I noticed cars in the drive way. We went over there to talk to them about buying the house if and when it came on the market. They were not in but I left a note and so he called me. So, this afternoon we went over there to have a look around. It is a manufactured home, but it looks in good shape, we love the floor plan and it sounds like it might be in our price range. They are selling it with most of the furniture, too! It's not fancy, but that is fine by me. I don't need granite counters and stainless appliances. He is cleaning out today and loading up a u-haul with what they are taking. They will be back in a few weeks and he plans on power washing the house. It is 3 bedroom, and what looks like a garage actually has a living area, bathroom and kitchenette.
For the pot luck at church I am going to make red beans and rice-I'm cheating though and using a mix. It cooks in just 20 minutes, so will get up early and get it made. I am also going to make a banoffee pie, but I am going to double the recipe and put it in my large pyrex dish. The store I went to today to get the dulce de leche did not have it so I bought 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk and am carmelizing it myself. I did have one can of the dulce de leche here. That was the dessert that Debbie and I had on Thursday, and I had forgotten how good it is. It will be easy to make in the morning.
Besides laundry, not much going on here today. Waving to everyone!

A quick hello friends! Today has gotten away from me while I've had to run a few errands early this morning and have spent the remainder of time in the kitchen. I am headed back there again, this time to prep dinner--Teriyaki Pineapple Turkey Burgers. DH will grill those after he is done with the lawn cutting. Sides will be corn on the cob, leftover macaroni salad, and there's fresh peaches and/or strawberries for dessert.
Tomorrow looks like another busy day for me. You may not see me early as I promised DH I would help him with pulling weeds before the rains are suppose to move in by afternoon.
Take care and waving to all! Lori
