Today is National Chocolate Eclair Day and National Onion Rings Day.
Tammy, not sure if it was you or not that mentioned seeing the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, but the "teacher in me" wanted to comment on it. I have seen it, actually the 1952 Wienermobile that is, not a current one. The 1952 model has been living for years now at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. While day-tripping a few years back on one of my many trips back to my home state, I went to the museum which happened to be a very important part of my growing up years (Greenfield Village too) since my DF and both DGF's worked for Ford Motor Company. I learned on my last visit that the 1st Wienermobile was created in 1936 by Carl Mayer. Last night while talking with a friend on the phone and mentioning Tammy or whoever it was seeing a hot dog on wheels recently, my friend Googled some info.--Oscar Mayer currently has six 27 foot long hot dogs traveling across the USA. If you are on Instagram, you can follow and see if one is coming to a city near you.
Took the verticals over to Habitat last evening. Although they originally said they'd take them, they now refused them because saying they are custom made to your window size and not every house has the same size windows. I disagreed on the sliders as they are all pretty much the same size, but maybe they don't install them in the houses they build. So now I am looking today to see if I can find out information on a program a former mayor in town and see if he could use them.
Elza, have a fun and safe trip.
Currently 82* with a heat index of 95*. I'm going to go over to Publix this morning when they open and get my grocery shopping done and out of the way. I also need to go to Sprouts and Lucky's, but DH mentioned he wanted to go with me to those, so I'll wait to shop there until later this afternoon. We will stop some place for dinner this evening.
Time to have a cup of coffee and slice of toast before I head out the doors. Until later, enjoy your day friends. Waving to all!

Good morning. Spring is back and summer left. It was 44 this morning but at least the sun is shinning. It is suppose to rain all weekend. Not sure what I will be doing today. I know I have between 1 and 3 kids for a while today. I really need to get outside and get some work done so hopefully Annabelle with take a long nap today. The older 2 are no problem. If nothing more they will be in the Bat Cave on the computers.
One thing I do know is today I have to make a big decision. I got a text from my old boss that she would like to have me come back to work hostessing 3 nights a week. I definitely use the money however, not sure I want to be tired down to work 7 days a week. The Saturday shift is at least 10 hours. It would be about 23 hours a week on top of having kids. I am meeting with her late this afternoon.
Tammy, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday. I would love to see gas at $2.50 a gallon again. It is $3.09 here right now and with summer coming on and tourists I am sure it will go even higher.
Lori, sorry you weren't able to give your blinds away. Hopefully you will find somewhere that will take them. I would hate the thought of having to take something like that to our transfer station. I toke a micro wave the other day and they charge $.25 a pound. It cost $7.50.
Eliza, I am sure you are on your way by now. Have a wonderful trip.
Chris, those ice cream sandwiches were so good last night. Hope you get to make your jam this weekend.
Tonight I am having tacos for dinner. Everything is made. Just have to heat up the meat. May need to use up a lot of the sour cream in the refrigerator. I decided to do half a batch but thought I would use my seasoning for a whole batch. Not a good idea, need to stick to the recipe. They are spicy.
Have a great day.

Good morning.
Lovely day here in San Diego. The girls got a bit too much sun yesterday so they will be inside.
I have some chicken to cook up so will shred it for chicken pesto sandwiches tonight.
Lori, my grandma made the best eclairs. I have her recipe but haven't made them. I really should.
Bet, how did your meeting go?
DH and I are leaving for the weekend for my birthday.
Have a lovely weekend.

Marge and I went out for breakfast and it was great. Now I am full !! Stopped at church as everyone brought stuff for a garage sale. There was nothing I needed! So came home read the paper and will get on my everyday clothes and do what? It is misty raining so good day to take a nap.
I keep thinking it is Sat. today. I don't know why. These days go by so fast I hardly can keep up the way it is. My lawyer left me message so will get back to her when she gets back. She had to go to funeral.
Not much news here so will close for now.

Good Afternoon! I could go for an éclair about now!
I hope your trip goes well and you have a lot of fun Elza.
Sorry it did not work out for you to donate your blinds, Lori.
Glad you enjoyed your breakfast out Marlene.
Happy Birthday Betsy! Have a wonderful time.
Bet, you are right-that is a big decision to make. 23 hours sounds like a lot, maybe you could compromise at 1 or 2 days a week.
Tasty, it would be so much fun to come to the FOT. I'd spend a fortune I think!
I finished my shift at the resale shop-it was really slow today. I bought a cute top and some earrings and a necklace, so I spent my $5.00 gift certificate that I earned today. Helen fell on her wet deck yesterday so she is not up to going anywhere today. She is ok, just very sore.
I found the snickerdoodle blondies that I made in the freezer, so need to run those over to the church. I was hoping to make a fresh dip with veggies and pita chips, so hopefully can get by the store and get that put together this afternoon.
As I mentioned we are going out to eat tonight. Not sure what I am in the mood for. Maybe the grilled pork chops. I hope Lisa likes the place. She eats gluten free, but I know she likes grilled fish.
The weatherman just said the "feel like" temp around here is between 104 and 109!! So thankful for the ac!!

Lori, you might try Craig's List.....about a year ago I called Habitat to give them a sofa and a hide-a-bed which they agreed to accept. My DGS's had moved them to the driveway for ease of loading....when they arrived they refused to take the hide-a-bed. I was in a panic as we were to get rain, all I didn't need was a wet hide-a-bed on the driveway....DGS quickly put it on Craig's list w/picture and within 1 hr had a call. Young man said he had to get help to load....Kev told him, come on now and we will load it for you.....within 2 hrs after Habitat refused it.....it was on it's way to a new home. Most larger areas have Craig's list and it is free. Houses have all kinds and sizes of windows....I am sure someone would be thrilled to have your verticals.
Marlene, get some rest and do some things for yourself....(((hugs to you))).
Betsy, Happy birthday and have a fun get away.
Cheers to all, Doris

Afternoon, friends! It's another wonderful day weather wise. I have doors and windows open. Expecting rain and then humidity over the weekend. All good things must come to an end, I kno!. I never took pictures either until I became a volunteer field editor. After lots of tears and frustration, I finally mastered using my point & shoot camera and importing and uploading! Tonight we are having a tuna salad plate with some of the bean salad and some waffle chips. Can't chat right now. Hope you all have a great evening! Waving! PS: Betsy, have a great birthday trip!!!

Hi everyone. Came into town and at library. I just wanted to stop in and say hi. They put the walls up at the lodge. To me it looks no bigger then our garage we had. It's still suppose to be done in July. I sure hope so.
