Good morning one and all. Wishing each of you a beautiful Sunday.
Today is National Black Cow Day. I sure made a lot of these (root beer float with chocolate ice cream) when young and working in an ice cream shop, but our most popular was a root beet float using vanilla ice cream.
In between painting today, I need to try to finish baking some cookies to send north. Dinner will be beef fajitas.
Waving to all. Lori

Good morning.
Another lovely day here with temps to be up to 75F and sunny all day long! Sounds like a good day to take advantage and get outside. Lots of weeding to be done etc so no problem finding things to do.
Hubby will be gone all day to a golf tournament so I will see later what I can find to eat but quite possibly salmon and asparagus - a favourite for me that hubby won't eat!
Have a wonderful day friends 😉

Going to Church to have breakfast, casserole and cinnamon rolls. Will meet the new pastor they will vote on today as he gives a message to us on the Pulpit. Hope it all works out.
We are getting a little rain today it doesn't seem like it will be much. The ground looked really dry when I mowed yesterday.
Supper last night was very good. I ate a 8oz. prime rib and it was so good with baked potato and salad. We did get a small order of onion rings too. Company was good along with good food. I get hungry for a good steak once in awhile. I have some rib eyes in freezer I was going to have for company but do not get that made either! I bought a whole rib eye and cut into steaks and froze them individual.
Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning ! Just checking in while I can. It will be a busy day. We are going to church at 11, not sure about lunch. We have to be at the funeral home from 2-4 to see visitors. Then we will come home and wait for our 3 boys and their families to get here. We have tons of leftovers so that will probably be supper. It was not sandwiches last night after all. They brought fried chicken, potato salad and baked beans! Same thing we had the night before, but I wont' complain about a lot of extra fried chicken. The first night it was from Snyder's store and it was broasted, Last night was from Wal Mart and it was quite tasty too. We got another apple pie-this one is from Perkins restaurant, and someone made a gooey butter cake. One person made us homemade French bread loaves (four of them!) and another lady made homemade yeast rolls. Delicious!
We divided up all the household furnishings last night, and it went so well. We all wanted different things so there was no arguing. DH is his sisters get along so well, I really did not expect any. As for me, I hate to hear about families that get into fights over stuff. It's just stuff, and I think relationships are more important. I have always been determined not to ever argue over "stuff". I was an only child so did not have to worry about any of that when mom died.
MIL had an entire case of Depends in the closet. She also had a portable handicap frame to go around the toilet to help a person rise. DH removed it and set it in the hallway. That's when the Depends jokes started. Oh my, we laughed until we cried! DSIL's good friend Phil was here also. One of the funny ones was when my DH said, "It's time to put the Depends jokes behind us".
Tasty, enjoy your dinner.
Waving to all, wishing all a very nice day!

Good morning. 45 here this morning but a beautiful day. I can finally sit and chat for a minute. My worst job is finally done. The big garden is tilled. It definitely isn't downhill yet with the work but maybe almost on a level which is hard to find here. Those that have visited here know you need to be a side hill clincher to walk on my property. Yesterday before going to the birthday party I did get one greenhouse down and the baskets that are finished hung on it. Once I get the remaining tomato plants in the ground when the sun is off the garden I can start considering taking the other one down and setting up the little hospital greenhouse up out beside the garage.
Tammy, will be thinking of you and DH. My brother and I were the same when my Dad passed away. We each had a few things we wanted and there was no arguing at all about it.
Marlene, you dinner last night sounds great. However, ribeye is not my first choice of steak.
Chris, glad you had a good time in Lake George and the weather was nice.
Lori, happy painting. Sorry your MIL is acting up again.
Have a great day.

Hello all.
Nice day here. Sunny with a lovely breeze
Tammy, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Sending you a big hug. I hear you on fighting over possessions. I agree with you. We are going through that with dh's family.
We grabbed subs for lunch. I decided to get rid of my 5 year old Samsung fridge. I just can't stand it. It's never worked right. So we bought a new one today. It will be here Thursday.
Dh and DD are going to the movies. Youngest dd and I will stay home as we have my son's puppy today. She's a handful.
Waving to all.
Betsy

Good afternoon -- I didn't sleep much last night so just woke up from a Sunday afternoon nap. Not something I usually do, but I needed it today.
Tammy, I'm glad that you all could get your MIL's things divided easily and happily for everyone. That is a blessing. And finding something to bring a smile or a laugh is too. For me and my sisters, we had that experience going through my mom's clothes after she died. You know how some people say that seeing a redbird is a "sign" of a deceased loved one's presence? Well, we decided that our "sign" was a folded up tissue. Every coat or jacket or bathrobe or pair of pants that Mama owned had at least two tissues folded up in the pocket! And all her purses were full of them! The more we found, the more we laughed. It sounds strange, but it really helped make a good memory out of a difficult time.
Tasty, enjoy your meal! I do the same when DH is away.
Lori, mmmm, a root beer float is one of my favorite ice cream treats. That sure sounds good on a hot day like this. Marlene, I hope the church service went well. What did you think of the pastor candidate? DH and I have both been on pastor search committees and there is a lot of work that goes into that decision.
Bet, yay for getting a big job done!
Betsy, have fun puppy-sitting. What kind of dog is she?
We had lunch today with church friends who have been house-bound with both of them recovering from surgery and extended illness. We picked up fried chicken and sides at Publix to take to their home and had a really nice visit. They've done a lot of traveling over the years and it was fascinating to hear about all the places they have been.

Sorry you did not sleep well last night, Elza. Glad you got to have a nap. DS's dog is a black lab puppy. She is just so sweet. I don't mind watching her. ;)
